3 Baffles are an important part of any lighting design. Traditionally, baffles are used to illuminate the perimeter of a room or hallway and provide one directional shielding with a crisp linear appearance. Fluorescent lighting is typically used to illuminate this geometrically organized ceiling surface. New concepts of ceiling design have created unique applications for baffles to be used as general lighting, connecting columns to create a space or enclosing round reception areas. We offer standard baffles as well as designs that are completely unique.

4 N A X B Textured Extruded Aluminum Baffle The rigid textured extruded aluminum blades provide solid, substantial appearance while lowering the brightness. The baffle blade is 2" high and.085" thick. Blades are 2" on center for 45 degree shielding. Baffle width is determined by your finish opening and can be up to 24". Sections are 48" long and produced for continuous mount applications with half tabs on each end. Standard Finishes are Silver Satin, Lighting White, Gloss Black, Matte Black & Charcoal Bronze. Any custom painted finish is available. STANDARD WALL ANGLE TOLERANCE SLIP JOINT PERIMETER TRANSITION When designing a baffle into a lighting system, it is important to consider how the baffles will transition with the surfaces they will meet. We can provide the perimeter suspension, or, others can supply it. When you specify a custom color, it is strongly recommended that we supply the perimeter trim to assure proper color match. When baffles turn a corner, using a herringbone corner gives your system a well thought out completed look. The standard corners are 135, 45 and 90 degrees. Of course, custom angles can be made. Be sure to mention herringbone corners in our specification to assure they are used in place of anything else. DIFFUSER OVERLAYS 100% virgin matte white acrylic top diffusers are available with all of our baffles. To specify this option, add S40A to the end of the baffle part number. 2

5 Extruded Fin Aluminum Baffle N A F B This unique extruded fin aluminum baffle design forms a slender fin dropping below the perimeter support rails. The blade is 2" deep and projects below the perimeter rail 1-1/4". The on center dimension of the baffle blade is 2", 3" or 4". Baffle width can be up to 24" and sections are 48" long and produced for continuous mount applications with half tabs on each end. Standard Finishes are Silver Satin, Lighting White, Gloss Black, Matte Black & Charcoal Bronze. Any custom painted finish is available. PART NO. 6 S L S Steffy Light Shield The Steffy Light Shield is a straight forward design to block the glare from incandescent lamps in a wall wash slot application. Formed aluminum light shields eliminate glare without interrupting the light pattern. SLS Shields are made 4" x 5" for small bulbs and 8" x 10" for larger bulbs. Steffy Light Shields are finished in a durable Polene finish in Lighting White, Gloss Black, Silver Satin or to your specifications. Any custom painted finish is available. PART NO. The Mounting bracket is flexible and is fastened to the drywall. The baffle simply hooks into position. This baffle is 1-1/2" deep and available 2" or 3" on center. If your cove is over 7" wide, the floating side needs to be supported using wall angle. Finishes available are Semi Specular Silver, Full Specular Silver, Gold Anodized and any painted finish. 7 Translucent Acrylic Baffle N T B A Make a statement with this glowing alternative to perimeter lighting. This baffle is available up to 14" wide and the blades are 1/4" translucent white acrylic. The top panel is also translucent white acrylic. The baffle glows while providing a visual linear pattern that eliminates glare from the lamps. This baffle is available 1-1/2" or 2" deep with spacing up to 4" on center. PART NO. 8 N A S B Single Blade Aluminum Baffle This conventional, economical and simple approach to shielding is a classic. The simplicity of this design lends to its popularity. This is an effective means of providing a wash of light to walls, corridors and featured areas at a reasonable cost. Baffle ends abut to form a continuous appearance and provide full plenum access. The specular finishes available are silver anodized and gold anodized. The standard painted finishes available are Lighting White, Silver Satin, Black and Charcoal Bronze. For NASB part numbers and dimensions see page 9. Any custom painted finish is available. 9 Bold Blade Bold Blade Aluminum Baffle N A B B Our Bold Blade Aluminum Baffle provides a comfortable well shielded lighting design which integrates into a continuous architectural statement. The Blade of the Baffle is 3/16" thick. The heavy duty design allows for greater width spans. Our Bold Blade Baffles are intended to abut for a continuous appearance. Each section is easily removed for maintenance and access to the plenum. The standard painted finishes available are Lighting White, Silver Satin, Black and Charcoal Bronze. Any custom painted finish is available. For NABB part numbers and dimensions see page 9.
