3 Page 2 of Test Specification(s): ASTM E , Standard Test Method for Performance of Exterior Windows, Curtain Walls, Doors and Storm Shutters Impacted by Missile(s) and Exposed to Cyclic Pressure Differentials. ASTM E , Standard Specification for Performance of Exterior Windows, Glazed Curtain Walls, Doors and Storm Shutters Impacted by Wind Borne Debris in Hurricanes. 5.0 Test Specimen Description: 5.1 Product Sizes: Overall Area: Width Height 7.4 m² (80.0 ft 2 ) millimeters inches millimeters Inches Overall size Frame Construction: Frame Member Material Description All frame members Aluminum Extruded Vertical/horizontal intersections Pressure plates Joinery Type Square cut and butted N/A Detail All horizontal members were secured to the vertical members with an extruded aluminum shear block/anchor clip. The shear block was secured to the vertical member with three #14 x 1 1/2" long self tapping hex head screws. The horizontal members were secured to the shear block with two #8 x 1" long flat head screws. The shear blocks on either side of the center vertical member at the center horizontals were secured to each other with two 3/8 x 4" long bolts through the center vertical member. All pressure plates were secured to the main frame members with 1/4" x 1" long hex head screws spaced 16" on center. All pressure plates utilized a snap fit aluminum cover.
