1 ENGINEERING UPDATE MAY 16, 2016 CRAN BE RRY TO WNSHI P, PENNSYL V ANI A Jason Kratsas, P.E., Director of Engineering x 1148 PROJECT: GRANTS, PERMITS & REPORTS Timeline: June through September 2016 Description: Schedule of Reports & Grants Update: MSW Recycling Performance Grant due Sept. 30; PROJECT: NORTH BOUNDARY WATERPARK POOL RENOVATIONS Timeline: Construction May 2016 Description: Renovations to the various areas at the North Boundary WaterPark. Update: Yard restoration is underway; Pool contractor finishing interior of pool surface May 18-20; water stabilization process will begin thereafter; PA Dept. of Health inspection scheduled for May 31; Concrete deck contractor is 98% completed. PROJECT: ROBINHOOD DRIVE STREAMBANK STABILIZATION Timeline: Construction December through July 2016 Description: Stabilize the streambank between 104 & 102 Robinhood Dr. utilizing grant money awarded from Alcoa for the actual stabilization. The Township will provide the engineering, permitting & project management. Update: Design & permitting requirements are underway.

2 PROJECT: GRAHAM PARK WALKING TRAIL PHASE 2 Timeline: Bidding Award May 2016; Anticipate Construction Summer of 2016 Description: The Township partnering with the PA Dept. of Conservation & Natural Resources is in the process of constructing two additional section of walking trails. First section will connect Powell Road to existing trail by the football field & run along Brush Creek; Second section will follow along Brush Creek & begin at the existing sidewalk on the north side of the fishing pond to the southern section of the park. Phase 2 is around the Baseball campus. Update: Awarded the bid; scheduling preconstruction meeting. PROJECT: MS4 UPDATES Project Manager: Tim Schutzman Timeline: 4 th Year Cycle of the 5 Year Permit (April-March) Description: The Township is required to comply with the NPDES Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System General Permit Requirements for each year of the permit. Update: Township is preparing the 3 rd year cycle progress report. PROJECT: BCWPCF UPGRADE PROJECT Project Manager: Tim Schutzman Timeline: Construction - July 2016 September 2019 Description: Township is in the process of upgrading the Brush Creek Water Pollution Control Facility (BCWPCF). Update: Board of Supervisors awarded the four construction contracts for this project. Construction anticipated to begin in July 2016.

3 PROJECT: FEMA PROGRAM Project Manager: Tim Schutzman Timeline: TBD Description: The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) is in the process of updating the Flood Insurance Rate Map (FIRM) which is now in a county-wide format. Update: FEMA has provided the Township with revised preliminary maps for Cranberry Township. The current effective date for the new FIRM is scheduled for July PROJECT: MUNICIPAL BUILDING RENOVATIONS Timeline: Construction Winter 2015 Description: Various renovations being discussed for the Municipal Center Building. Update: Project is 99% complete working on punch list items. PROJECT: NORTH BOUNDARY ROUNDABOUT Timeline: Summer 2016 Description: Installation of a roundabout at Marshall Road & North Boundary Road. Update: Resolving right-of-way. PROJECT: MUNICIPAL BUILDING INTERNAL SIGNAGE Timeline: Fall Completion Description: Installation of internal way-finding signage in the Municipal Building. Update: Punch list to be completed by May 27.

4 PROJECT: GRAHAM PARK PLAYGROUND Timeline: Construction Spring 2016; September 1, 2016 completion date Description: Installation of a playground on the baseball campus adjacent to the Miracle League Field. Update: Anticipate June 1, 2016 start date. PROJECT: FREEDOM/VALLEY FORGE INTERSECTION IMPROVEMENT PROJECT Project Manager: Kelly Maurer Timeline: Bid Spring 2016; Construction 2016 Description: ARLE Grant Project to add opposing left turn lanes on Freedom Road at existing signalized intersection. Update: Utility relocation in progress. PROJECT: ADAPTIVE TRAFFIC SIGNAL TIMING Project Manager: Kelly Maurer Timeline: 2013 Grant - Freedom Road, 2014 Grant Route 228 (3 years to complete) Description: ARLE Grant Projects to add adaptive technology to the traffic signal system. The system will automatically adapt the traffic signals based on traffic conditions. Includes signals on Freedom from Route 19 to Thorn Hill Extension & Route 228 from Route 19 to Franklin Road. Update: Necessary detection & software has been purchased and is currently being installed. PROJECT: CONTINGENCY PLANS FOR TRAFFIC SIGNAL SYSTEM Project Manager: Kelly Maurer Timeline: Completion June 2016 Description: Green-Light-Go Grant to prepare contingency plans for the Township s traffic signal management system. These timing plans would handle planned & unplanned traffic incidents & events on Interstates 79 & 76, as well as Rt. 19, Rt. 228 & Freedom Road. Update: Analysis currently being completed.

5 PROJECT: 2016 RESURFACING Timeline: Completion July 2016 Description: 2016 Resurfacing Program (includes Phase 2 Seal Coating & Phase 3 Additional Superpave). Update: Resurfacing is underway. PROJECT: MSA THRU-WAY Timeline: Final Design Description: Township working to secure traffic approval for the project. Update: Final design starting in June with completion in PROJECT: FREEDOM ROAD BRIDGE OVER TURNPIKE Timeline: Design Phase On-Going Description: Replacement of Freedom Road Bridge over the Turnpike by PennDOT (design) and the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission (construction). Update: Current work in right-of-way, utility & MPT plans. Project website: PROJECT: ADDITIONAL EASTBOUND RT. 228 LANE Timeline: Final Engineering November 2016 Description: Design of an additional eastbound lane on Route 228 between I-79 and Franklin Road. Update: Final engineering by November 2016.

6 PROJECT: GRAHAM PARK, PHASE 2 Timeline: Preliminary Engineering March 2016; Final Bid Documents February 2017; Construction 2017 Description: Development of Phase 2 of Graham Park to include a variety of new park amenities.
