Comment 1 1. CLARIFICATION - SECTION COATINGS PART II MATERIALS Paragraph 2.05 C The interior steel angle at the top of the wall and the joints along the vertical I-beam members shall be either seal welded or caulked with a NSF or AWWA approved equal prior to coating application. Can ISO 9001 Certificates be substituted for QP1 and QP-2 Certificates? Response 1 No, ISO 9001 Certificates cannot be substituted for QP1 and QP-2. Comment 2 Can steel shot be used in the automated machines and then blasted with sand to obtain the angular profile? Response 2 No, steel shot or the sand cannot be used to obtain the angular profile.

2 ADDENDUM NO. 1 BID NO CENTRAL WATER RESERVOIR #3 RECOATING REBID ISSUE DATE: 12/13/11 Please refer to Section REQUIRED SHOP DRAWINGS Paragraph E. A. The Contractor shall submit data certifying the chemical composition of the blast abrasive to be used. The blast abrasive shall not contain levels of Barium, Beryllium, Cadmium, Chromium, Mercury, Nickel, Lead or Copper in concentrations greater than that allowed by RCRA. The maximum Selenium concentration allowed for all blast abrasives used shall be.05 mg/l. The blast abrasive shall be tested according to the RCRA=s TCLFP metals Leachate Test. Also refer to Section 09970, Section 3.02 SURFACE PREPARATION, GENERAL, Paragraph M M. Abrasive used in blast cleaning operations shall be new, washed, graded and free of contaminants which would interfere with adhesion of coatings and points and shall not be reused unless specifically approved by the City s designated representative. The City Representative does not approve of reused material. Also refer to Section 09970, Section 3.06 Paragraph C 3.06 INTERIOR AND EXTERIOR SURFACE PREPARATION Comment 3 Paragraph reads C. Anchor profile shall be 1.5 to 2.0 mils. Use only clean, fresh grit. Is there an Engineer s Estimate for this project? Response 3 Yes, please see attachment. Comment 4 Can a door-sheet be constructed to allow for greater accessibility into the interior tank? Response 4 Yes, a door-sheet may be constructed but only one (1) panel will be allowed, the work must be completed by a competent welder who is currently certified by the state of Nevada and will then be inspected by a City representative. Comment 5 Is caulking required along the horizontal I-beams along the roof? Response 5 Yes, caulking is required along the horizontal I-beams along the roof.
