A75: The Paving and Rock Chart on DL-C530, which included McKee Road, was updated via addendum. Q76: What is the pavement section for King Road? DWG DL-C530 has shown 3 options for King Road and it is not clear if this is option is for the contractor or VTA. A76: The Contractor may choose a structural section from the Paving and Rock Chart found on DL-C530. The Paving and Rock Chart was revised via addendum. Q77: Item 27 TS-1.33 Irrigation Crossovers 6 PVC Class 315 is not made. What pipe should be used for irrigation Crossovers? A77: Irrigation Sleeves for irrigation/lateral lines and for control wires crossover shall be Sch 80 PVC. TS was updated via addendum. Q78: Item 27 TS-1.33 Irrigation Crossovers Trench Restoration Detail for installing irrigation sleeves (LS3/1) Shows one pipe for water and one for wires will dual 6 pipes be required? A78: Irrigation Sleeve for control wires shall be 4-inch Pipe. TS was updated via addendum. Q79: Item 94 TS PVC Pipe is not made in C900. What pipe should be used for 2 PVC? A79: PVC water system pipe in sizes less than 4 inches shall be Schedule 40. TS -101 Pipe and Fittings was revised via addendum. Q80: Item 95, 96&97 TS-101 6, 8 & 10 PVC is not made in C900 SDR-26. C900 CL 250 is not made. What pipe should be used for 6, 8 & 10 PVC? A80: PVC water system pipe shall be C900 CL-235 (DR 18). TS -101 Pipe and Fittings was revised via addendum. Q81: Concerning the Station Concourse for project C700. Once the station is done and project C742 begins, will BART be responsible for preventing birds from roosting within the station area? If birds are allowed to roost this could greatly affect grading and decorative concrete placement. 2 status species in Section SC-37.3 Mitigation Measures." In addition, the specifications require that the contractor keep vegetation within the work area free of nesting birds by actively trimming outside the nesting season or installing exclusion devices to prevent bird nesting. This is within the contractor's control. Note that the majority of vegetation within the C742 work area has previously been removed. SC-37.4 is correct as written. Q82: Has the VTA done soil testing for this site? We need a site characterization for off haul analytics so that we can accurately price what type of dirt is coming off site, whether it be residential grade, commercial grade, etc. A82: Please refer to the Appendix in Volume No. 1 of the Bid Documents for soil reports. Q83: On the Ancillary Building, what is the color and Texture of the Block? A83: The Block for the Ancillary Building shall be: Texture: Precision, Color: Standard Warm Gray Q84: Do the expansion joints in the City of San Jose sidewalk get backer rod and color matching sealant? A84: City of San Jose Curb, Gutter and Sidewalk expansion joint construction shall comply with the requirements in Section 73 "Concrete Curbs and Sidewalks" of the standard specifications: Q85: "Expansion joints shall be filled with 1/4 inch thick premolded joint filler conforming to the provisions in Section C, "Premolded Expansion Joint Fillers." The joint filler shall be shaped to fit the concrete that is being placed." Color should be appropriate for a gray concrete sidewalk. What is the size of the domestic water connection to the lateral (per C700)? 3 Note field on S902 item #4 notes the pipe grade to ASTM A53-B (6). The grade 6 normally pertains to ASTM A333. Can this grade be confirmed as well with the '6' designation that follows? A86: 8" and 16" double strong pipe referenced in the legend on HP-HP-S903 shall be Double Extra Strong Pipe The first sentence in note 5 on sheet HP-S902 should read "All pipes shall be ASTM A53 Grade B." The "6" at the end of this sentence may be ignored. Q87: 5/HP-A907 Shows 3 OD SS Pipe, It is also referenced as pipe 4/HP-A907. This material in tubing is commonly available in.065 wall which is too thin to work with. Alternatively, pipe is available in 2-7/8 OD but doesn t meet the OD requirement. Please advise on what materials are permissible both OD and wall thickness for the screens. A87: 3 OD SS Pipe referenced in Detail 5/HP-A607 shall be 3 NOM Schedule 40 (3.5 OD x.22 wall x ID) Q88: Spec. Ref. TS-1.26, Utility Verification & Removal. Exhibit B, pages 326 & 327 are not really readable. We tried printing at different scales, and it came out more blurred. Can a readable print(s) be made available? A88: See attached Utility Verification & Removal Exhibits. Q89: Specification reference an Ameristar product and plans reference custom welded ornamental iron, what do I follow? A89: The Industrial Ornamental fence and gate at the Police Zone Facility and referenced by note C21 on Drawing DL-C221 and others shall be the Ameristar product, or equal, per TS Ornamental Steel Fence. Chain link fence shall be constructed in accordance with TS Custom railings and other custom iron work found in the Landscaping Drawings shall be fabricated in accordance with the landscaping details and Technical Specifications Section 2. Q90: In the decorative concrete plaza area around the station, is the current contractor being instructed to keep all utilities below the lime treat grade? If not, can you tell us what, other than the station columns, will we have to work around with the lime treat and grading equipment? Or what items we will have to set to decorative concrete grade? A90: No, the C700 contractor is not required to place facilities below the lime treated grade. Approximate locations of conduit and utility facilities may be found on the Electrical and Utility sheets. Q91: Temporary Tacked Straw Requirements revisions are required. 4 Q92: Sorry for the late notice. On Sheet L-502, Detail 4, it shows the expansion joints for the decorative concrete. Is it correct that the dowels are shown to be 10 long and the sleeves are 5 long? A92: Dowels are 10 inches long with 5 inch long sleeve. Q93: Regarding Bid Item #9 (Bonded Fiber Matrix), is the quantity of 85 Acres correct? This seems awfully high, considering Bid Item#16 (Hydroseed) is 1.7 Acres. Please clarify. A93: 85 acres is correct. Bonded fiber matrix has been estimated assuming the entire station campus area (station plaza, surface parking lot, Berryessa Station Way, etc.) will receive multiple applications prior to construction of pavement. The quantity for Erosion Control (Hydroseed) has been revised via addendum. Q94: Are there any restrictions for working over or near the Chevron pipe line in the utility easement, since we are lime treating that area?
