4 Page 4 of INTRODUCTION This document sets out the scope of work and technical requirements for the supply of the HP (High Pressure) Air Compressors and ancillary equipment for the Syerston Project in New South Wales, Australia. This equipment shall be of the Vendor s design, suitable for the Site conditions and the duty as specified in this Specification and referenced drawings, data sheets, standard specifications and documentation. The Vendor shall furnish complete and operational units, including all accessories except as specifically excluded. The Vendor shall supply Positive Displacement (PD) High Pressure Air Compressors for the duty specified in the datasheet. These compressors supply high pressure air to the Pressure Acid Leach Autoclaves. 1.2 WORK INCLUDED The scope shall comprise the provision of all labour, materials, parts and services necessary to carry out the design, supply, manufacture, assembly, surface protection, quality assurance, inspection, testing, identification, packaging and transportation, together with the provision of all necessary services, relating to the following equipment: Table 1 Work Included Item No. Qty. UOM Description 1 2 Each Autoclave Air Compressor 2 2 Each Autoclave Air Receiver The Vendor shall include in the scope of work items, accessories and services that are usual or necessary to complete the work, but which may not have been specifically mentioned herein. The scope of work shall include, but not be limited to the following: Item No 1 Air Compressor - complete air compressor assemblies including electric motor, drive arrangement, shaft seals, safety guards and base frame (Skid Mounted) - all nuts, bolts, washers, packers and shims necessary for the complete assembly of the equipment - Electric motors compliant to MEPS AS complete with drive systems - Safety relief valves - Common base frame (where practical) for air compressor, inlet air filter, inter-coolers, after coolers with auto-drain, (i.e. for air circuit), closed loop water circuit with air cooled heat exchanger, coolant (water) circulation pumps and expansion vessel (i.e. cooling circuit), interconnecting pipe work and air receiver within package battery limits - All necessary control valves, pressure gauges, relief valves, drain valves, interconnecting piping and instrumentation within the package to enable the compressors to be started and operated automatically. - Discharge check valves - Lubrication system - Anti-vibration mounts - Standard instrumentation / transmitters for alarm and indication - Air Compressor instrumentation and control system

This will be under separate schedule of rates. - Any special tools and equipment required to install, adjust or maintain the equipment - A full list of spares shall be provided with recommended stock holdings, pricing, lead times and place of manufacture - Commissioning spares - Supply of first fill lubricants - Provide a list of 2 year's Operational spares - Provide a list of Capital spares - Vendor Drawing and Data Requirements (VDDR) as specified - QA and QC implementation - Factory acceptance testing (FAT) - Packing, loading and transportation of the equipment as per the RFQ documentation - Provision of As-Built drawings. 1.3 WORK EXCLUDED The following works shall not be included in this scope of work: Site installation Off-loading, storage, handling and installation of the equipment at site Equipment access platforms, walkways, hand railing, ladders and stairways Supply and Installation of Hold down bolts Concrete footing design and Construction Electrical power supplies, conduit and cabling external to the skid Supply of motor starters Supply, installation and connection of cabling outside skids and auxiliaries Interconnecting pipework between air receiver and autoclave Control and instrumentation cabling and conduit external to the works.

6 Page 6 of BATTERY LIMITS The battery limits for this scope of work are as follows: At the air inlet / silencer of the air compressor Underside of compressor skid base frame Underside of receiver support legs Face of outlet flanges at the package boundary At the power and control terminal wiring in the Local Control Panel. 2 DESIGN REQUIREMENTS 2.1 GENERAL The Vendor shall incorporate into the design proven technology, specialist knowledge, previous experience and standard designs to the maximum practicable extent. The equipment shall be designed to provide continuous, long-term service under prevailing ambient and environmental conditions as indicated in the Project Specification EG All non-conformances to this specification shall be clearly stated in the tender. The equipment shall be designed and fabricated to facilitate easy installation, inspection, testing, cleaning, operation and maintenance. The use of asbestos is prohibited in all components. 2.2 DUTY AND DESIGN LIFE The required equipment service life is 20 years. Refer to the equipment datasheets for duty requirements. 2.3 DESIGN CRITERIA Equipment design shall be in accordance with the criteria specified in this document and the Equipment Data Sheets. Noise levels of the air compressors under normal operation shall not exceed the sound pressure levels of 82 db (A) at 1 m. All exposed moving items shall be guarded to AS Guards shall be designed to allow manual installation and removal by a single person, wherever possible. Where practical, all assemblies and components shall be provided with suitable lifting lugs or eyebolts to allow for easy off-loading, site installation and maintenance purposes. Lifting lugs shall be stamped with the working load limit (WLL). 2.4 FUNCTIONAL REQUIREMENTS The HP Air Compressors will supply high pressure air to the Pressure Acid Leach (PAL) autoclave for slurry level control and autoclave pressure control. HP Air is also utilised as necessary to purge the acid injection piping prior to shut down and maintenance.

7 Page 7 of PERFORMANCE GUARANTEE The Vendor shall provide a performance guarantee stating that the equipment will, in plant operation, meet the requirements as set out in the equipment datasheets. 2.6 STATUTORY REGULATIONS Refer to Project Specification EG STANDARDS In general, the precedence applying for the use of the standards for this project is as follows: Statutory Regulations Australian standards Other international standards Codes of Practice. ISO AS 1210 AS 1319 AS AS AS 4343 ASME B16.5 Compressed Air Quality Pressure Vessels Safety signs for the occupational environment Rotating Electrical Machines Safeguarding of Machinery - General Principles Pressure Equipment Hazard Levels Steel Pipe Flanges & Flanged Fittings ASME VIII Division 1 Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code All work performed shall be in conformance with the latest issue, including amendments of the standards. Mixing and matching of standards to gain a cost or schedule advantage is not acceptable and shall not be permitted. All design shall conform to the minimum applicable statutory requirements. The Vendor shall nominate the standards that the offered equipment conforms to, with their tender. 3 TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS 3.1 GENERAL The air receiver vessel shall be of sufficient size to ensure efficient operation of compressor while minimizing any acoustic or flow induced vibrations. Vessel appurtenances shall comply with local regulations of the Occupational Safety and Health Acts (OSHA), as required in New South Wales. Bidders are responsible for all costs associated with obtaining Worksafe approvals in New South Wales in accordance with AS4343-Pressure Equipment Hazard Levels. 3.2 MECHANICAL Pressure vessels shall be designed, fabricated and stamped in accordance with AS1210, the class of design and fabrication shall be Class 1. The ASME VIII Division 1 Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code is an acceptable alternative design code. Pressure vessels fabricated as per ASME VIII Division 1 shall be U stamped. Equipment shall be designed in accordance with the Specification for Purchase of General Mechanical Equipment EG-0001.

8 Page 8 of 12 The Vendor may adopt their own standards for surface protection subject to approval by the Client s Representative. The Vendor may refer to the EG Specification for Corrosion Protection for guidance on the preferred paint system and colours. Refer to the equipment datasheets for detailed mechanical requirements. 3.3 PIPING Piping shall be in accordance with ANSI/ASME B31.3. Flanges and bolting shall be of standard sizes and according to ANSI/ASME B16.5, unless otherwise specified. The Piping and Valve Material Specification for the project is document number EG-0001 and is available upon request, however the Vendor shall use in-house standards for piping material and valve selection using best practices that meet or exceed the guidelines and standards nominated elsewhere within this Scope of Work document after receiving project approval Forces and Moments on Compressor Flanges Maximum permissible forces and moments on compressor discharge flanges shall be nominated by Vendor. 3.4 STRUCTURAL The Vendor shall specify the size of all equipment anchor bolts suitable for all live and dead loads, including dynamic and seismic loading. The vendor shall advise dynamic load factor applicable to supplied equipment. The Structural Design Criteria for the project is document number EC-0001 and is available upon request, however the Vendor shall use in-house standards and best practices that meet or exceed the guidelines and standards nominated elsewhere within this Scope of Work document. 3.5 ELECTRICAL Refer to the equipment datasheets for General Electrical requirements. The Design Criteria for Electrical Engineering is document number EC-0001 and is available upon request, however the Vendor shall use in-house standards and best practices that meet or exceed the guidelines and standards nominated elsewhere within this Scope of Work document. Electrical equipment shall be in accordance with the Design Criteria for Electrical and Automation for Minor Package Plant ( EC-0002). Compressor sizing and associated motor selection shall be governed by the specified mass flow rate at minimum air density conditions, actual compressor efficiency and drive losses. Motor torque curves showing the compressor torque input required at the normal, maximum and minimum duty points against the torque produced by the Vendor s selected motor shall be provided on award in accordance with the Vendor Data Requirements. 3.6 INSTRUMENTATION AND CONTROL Refer to the equipment datasheets for Instrumentation and Control requirements. The Design Criteria for Field Instrumentation and Control Valves is document number EC and is available upon request, however the Vendor shall use in-house standards and best practices that meet or exceed the guidelines and standards nominated elsewhere within this Scope of Work document after receiving project approval.

9 Page 9 of EQUIPMENT IDENTIFICATION, MARKING AND LABELLING The equipment shall be uniquely identified by hard stamped or engraved numbering system at an accessible position for quality assurance, life cycle management and inventory management. As a minimum a 3 mm stainless steel tag shall be stamped with the equipment number, the equipment name, the manufacturer s name, the equipment model number, the serial number and the date of manufacture with letters not less than 8 mm high in English, with a black background in each letter. All safety and information signage shall be provided and shall be in accordance with AS1319. These signs shall generally advise workplace health and safety and other statutory requirements/obligations and sitespecific requirements. 3.8 SHIPMENT, PACKING AND STORAGE Packing shall be properly and solidly made to afford the goods protection from any mechanical and / or chemical damage that may be reasonably expected during water, land or air transport (as appropriate). The Vendor shall provide a methodology for shipment, degree of assembly for transportation, shipping dimensions and a packing list. Adequate provision shall be made on all equipment having components carried in rolling bearings to avoid damage to the bearings ( brinelling ) during transport. When bearings are to be removed and rotors blocked for transport, then appropriate shaft locks shall be provided and fitted. Appropriate high visibility label tags shall be fitted to all blocked or locked rotor equipment. Loose items to be securely fastened to avoid damage during transport. Equipment sensitive to water damage shall be protected to preserve it in a dry state for up to six months during transport, storage and installation when subject to heavy, driving rain. 4 QUALITY CERTIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS 4.1 GENERAL The Vendor is responsible for the testing and inspection of all materials and work in accordance with this specification and all applicable codes, laws and regulations. Vendor Quality System Requirements, shall include the following: detailed work schedule ITPs Material certification for alloy components, including stainless steels shall be EN Type 3.1 subject to Client Representative s approval. factory and shop hydrostatic test records of compressor casings and compressor assemblies Procedures for all remedial works. The Vendor shall maintain an effective quality management system in accordance with the requirements of ISO 9000 to ensure and demonstrate that the goods and services conform to the requirements of the specification. The Vendor shall ensure that all Sub-Vendors maintain equivalent systems commensurate with their particular scope of supply. 4.2 SHOP ASSEMBLY AND TESTING The Vendor shall carry out shop assembly and testing, and provide certification as part of the Vendor data requirements as follows:

10 Page 10 of 12 Hydro testing the air receiver in accordance with the requirements of AS1210/ASME VIII Division 1 Factory hydrostatic pressure testing of compressor crank case, cylinders, intercooler and after coolers X-Ray of pressure parts in line with AS1210 / ASME VIII Division 1 Full shop assembly of compressors to check dimensions and tolerances. This shall include partial disassembly, if required, for transport. Vendor to define, Extent of shop assembly and testing. The provision of power supply, services and lubricants for the shop test shall be the Vendors responsibility. 4.3 SITE TESTING The Vendor s shall provide schedule of rates for performance of site testing of the high pressure air compressors which may be required at the discretion of the Company representative. 4.4 AS BUILT REQUIREMENTS Vendor shall provide As Built data where modifications and/or additions have been made to previously provided Final Data where indicated in the As Built Required column at Appendix A as follows: where engineering / design has been provided by the Company Representative, the Vendor shall provide As Built Data Where engineering / design and/or shop detailing has been provided by the Vendor, the Vendor shall provide As Built Data as follows no later than four weeks prior to delivery of equipment completed back drafted drawings/documents updated electronic model Input calculation data files as MS Excel spreadsheets and/or proprietary software data file format. Mechanical, electrical and instrument data sheets shall be electronically As Built and handed over as individual files in the Datasheet MS Excel spreadsheet format. 4.5 MAINTENANCE The Vendor shall conduct equipment reliability and criticality reviews for the complete HP Compressor package with the Company maintenance personnel. The Vendor shall assist and provide all life cycle and breakdown frequency data for the Company to prepare maintenance procedures and planning schedules. 5 REFERENCE DOCUMENTS The following reference documents form part of this Scope of Work.
