Specifying Indoors - Think about the type of look you would like to create. Consider the style of the rest of your project and select a system that will suit its age and character. For a highly contemporary look, our FUSION system offers the very latest in staircase style, through a unique union of natural timbers, contemporary clear panels and modern metallic finishes. It s remarkably easy to fit too. Did you know? around 30,000 children aged under 4 are injured each year after falling on stairs or steps within the home.* * Home and Leisure Accident statistics from ROSPA based on the number of children aged between 0 and 4, who attended a hospital in the UK with an injury incurred after falling on stairs or steps within the home in 2000, 2001 and We offer a range of designs in our traditional and contemporary collections, in a variety of softwood and hardwood timbers, to suit your taste and budget. Choose from classic turned designs ideal for older and period properties through to simpler styles for modern homes. If you re looking to provide some extra support or, if your staircase is located within walls, then a wall-mounted handrail would be ideal. Of course selecting balustrade is not just an issue of aesthetics - it s also ensuring the staircase is fit for purpose, meets relevant building regulations and passes building control inspection. Our goal is to help create staircases with appropriate fit for purpose balustrade which adds extra appeal to the project, and thereby adds value. 5 CASE STUDIES FUSION Commercial balustrade was installed in the shared, double height main entrance stairwell of the mill from the lower ground to the first floor. The first and second flights were then connected on the ground floor in the entrance of the building using an L shaped landing configuration. Converting a former flourmill in the centre of Norwich into an upmarket development of contemporary apartments PJ Livesey has set new sales records in the city. PJ Livesey converted a complex of late 19th century, Grade II listed industrial warehouses and flour mills on the banks of the River Wensum into a contemporary development of 180 loft style apartments, one of which has been sold for 1 million a first for apartment sales in Norwich. The properties feature high-specification interiors schemes, designed to distinguish them from the numerous new developments being built in the city. 8 FUSION Commercial was a very impressive product that complemented the modern apartment interiors and provided us with a contemporary alternative to the systems we would have traditionally used in communal stairwells. Peter Hewston, Buyer for PJ Livesey 9

CASE STUDIES Maulyte Building Contractors transformed its industrial unit into a modern office suite and high specification showroom. FUSION Commercial balustrade was installed on two flights along the entrance wall and side wall, providing access from the ground to the first floor. The staircase was a straight closed string with a straight step. The first flight consists of 6 steps, leading to a quarter turn with landing. A further 12 steps form the final flight, which finishes with a 90 degree turn top landing. Located in the Royal Arsenal, the 5000 sq.ft. industrial unit has been transformed into a contemporary office suite, comprising a lobby area and mezzanine level, all fronted by smoked floor-to-ceiling glass windows and linked with a feature staircase. The aim was to create a modern, stylish and professional design that would reflect the quality of Maulyte s interiors and inspire visitors and clients with ideas and confidence. 10 The final result is really impressive and the staircase creates a striking focal point which many customers have already commented on. Ultimately, Richard Burbidge has delivered exactly what we needed. Steve Creamer, Director at Maulyte Building Contractors 11

CASE STUDIES FUSION Commercial indoor balustrade was installed in the main lobby on a threestorey staircase, which provides shared access for all residents and visitors. Meanwhile, FUSION Commercial outdoor balustrade with glass panels was installed on the first floor and penthouse apartment balconies to provide an aesthetically appealing safety barrier that would also make the most of the stunning views over the Lough. FUSION Commercial balustrade systems have been installed in a luxury apartment development in Northern Ireland, helping to create a visually stunning setting to attract potential buyers. The contemporary Watergate Quay development in Enniskillen occupies a striking position overlooking Lough Erne. With interiors designed by Annan Interiors, the attractive buildings boast a natural stone façade, large bay windows from ground to roof and the very latest in modern interiors. FUSION Commercial indoor and outdoor balustrade have been used on this development as the system is in keeping with the development s high-end design concept. The finest quality homes across the spectrum, from affordable homes for first time buyers through to exclusive, larger detached properties. 12 Having heard positive reports about FUSION Commercial s styling and ease of installation, we were keen to use its unique design in the main lobby to create a strong first impression and set the tone for the apartments. Gordon Annan, Annan Interiors. 13

CASE STUDIES FUSION Commercial outdoor balustrade with glass panels was installed around the curved decks, which extend from and surround three of the park s best-placed homes, overlooking steep cliffs with stunning views. Spacious decks were installed on luxury holiday homes at the upmarket Holgates Holiday Park, to extend the living space and make the most of the picturesque Morecambe Bay location. The family-run holiday park set in the Lakeland countryside fitted decks on 3 plots, as part of a luxury holiday home package. FUSION Commercial outdoor balustrade with glass panels was chosen to offer customers the park s most desirable aspect and to maintain the high specification of the luxury homes. In light of the location, the balustrade was an essential safety feature. Plus, by selecting the glass panel option, the views remained undisturbed. 24 We were drawn to the FUSION Commercial range because of its instant aesthetic appeal and the glass system really stood out, as the panels enable holiday home owners to take full advantage of the spectacular views. We have sold all three plots, as the finished look is so impressive and the real added bonus was the ease of installation. Michael Holgate, Managing Director of Holgates Holiday Park 25

CASE STUDIES Folkestone Rugby Club transformed its traditional clubhouse into a modern sports and social facility, complete with balcony viewing area. Approximately 40 metres of FUSION Commercial outdoor balustrade were installed on the perimeter of the new balcony to provide an essential safety barrier. The glass panel system enhanced the sense of space, with minimal disruption to views of the pitch. The club s logo was etched into the glass panels to add a bespoke finishing touch. The Kent rugby club began its latest redevelopment in 2007 and, with the support of the RFU, its facilities have grown to now include four pitches, eight changing rooms and an extended clubhouse, with a raised viewing platform. Folkestone Rugby Club is considered to be one of the best amateur club sides in the country and is rated as having the best ground and facilities in southeast Kent. The aim was to create a modern clubhouse with a safe and stylish balcony, offering a vantage point for spectators and players. 26 This redevelopment is the result of a lot of hard work by everybody associated with the club, so we wanted to make sure the result lived up to expectations. The FUSION Commercial system not only created a contemporary finish that looks great but the club logo on the glass panel reinforces this team spirit, as well as being a real stand out feature. Andy Dagger, Project Team Leader for Folkestone Rugby Club 27
