1 MOUNTING INSTRUCTIONS CALME Preliminary remark: beneath information accrues from sources which we consider reliable. We cannot be responsible for its correctness or exhaustion. See also our general terms and conditions. DELIVERY CONTROL Any visible damage should be mentioned clearly on the shipping documents. Any damage should be instantly reported with (digital) pictures to Sonogamma. Opening the packaging and/or manually unloading the sheets automatically means acceptancy of its delivery. UNLOADING AND SORTING Aluminium is a natural product; small differences in hue are inevitable. Therefore, Calme is packed in cartons according the hue. There are five groups, the number of which is written on the side of the packaging, e.g.: 2 A6310C2 600 * * 3t 6pc Nr. hue Product code Dimensions Quantity About 80% of the sheets is sorted as hue nr 3. An adjacent sheet should have the same number, one higher or one lower. A sheet nr 3 can be mounted next to a nr 3, 2 or 4. Group 3 can be mounted in the middle of the surface; nrs 1 and 5 only at the edges. Sorting is not compulsory. Mounting the sheets randomly results in a natural variation in colour and hue. The panels are packed in the same direction. The direction of the panel is noted on the packing and on the backside of each panel. The panels should be installed in the same direction.

2 The panels should be installed in the same direction, following the direction mark on the backside. Good Wrong

3 TREATMENT CUTTING Calme sheets can be cut with a Stanley knife, bandsaw, laser cutter. The sheets can be sawn with a band saw. The burrs can be removed with a file. The sheets can also be cut with a laser cutter (curved or wavy lines). Cutouts can be performed with a jigsaw. HOLES Small holes up to 80 mm in diameter can be drilled on site, using a drill or hole saw. Holes larger than 80 mm need to be foreseen at the factory. BENDING Calme can be bent by hand at a radius of at least 3 m or more. Smaller radiuses than 3 m are bent by use of a bending machine. Minimum bending radius of Calme panels with a thickness of 2 mm: 15 mm Minimum bending radius of Calme panels with a thickness of 3 mm: 25 mm Maximum bending length: 600 mm COLOUR COATING The sheets are painted with a aluminium grey acrylic paint (thickness 20 μm) The sheets can be painted at the factory in any colour. The sound absorption is only guaranteed when painted in our factory. You can work with a sample and counter-sample to obtain the correct colour. CLEANING Small stains can be erased or wiped clean with a cloth. The sheets can be vacuum cleaned (use soft brush). Tough stains can be cleaned with a soft, diluted detergent. Never use hard detergents or chemical products for they can cause discoloration or damage. Calme type C (swimming pools and outdoors) can be hosed down. Always perform a test on an unvisible part of the ceiling or wall. SHRINKAGE/EXPANSION The sheets expand a mere 0,6 mm / mm at a temperature difference of 30 C. If this occurs (outdoors, glasshouse, ), a joint of 1 mm between the sheets should be foreseen. FLOODLIGHT Floodlicht makes any irragularity visible. It is therefore strongly recommended not to combine floodlight with Calme panels.

4 MOUTING INSTALLATION BY SCREWING OR RIVETTING ON HIDDEN RUNNERS For easy installation, the Calme sheets are fixed with double sided tape on aluminium runners by means of double sided tape before being rivetted or screwed. Holes for countersung stainless steel screws or rivets need to be predrilled. Use runners with a 50 mm width for a stable joint. Intermediate runners have a reduced width of 25 mm. Sheets are mounted with no joints in case of a quincunx pattern, in case of an aligned pattern over important lengths a 2 mm joint will compensate the size tolerances of +/- 0,35 mm. 5 INSTALLATION AS A LOW SUSPENDED CEILING OR WALL CLADDING When applied as wall cladding in circulation areas or as a low ceiling cladding, a backing by means of a perforated MDF or gypsum board with a thickness of 9 mm to 10 mm has to be foreseen in order to enhance the mechanical resistance. The minimum perforation rate should be 20% and maximum perforation rate 24%. The maximum diameter of the holes is 20 mm. A joint overlapping installation of the Calme sheets on the perforated board is recommanded. Use a high viscosity solvent free glue to avoid stains going through the microporous painted surface of Calme or use the 3M VHB double sided tape nr Adhesive tape Glue Adhesive tape Glue
