Constant development throughout its forty-five-year lifespan has allowed the company to reach its current status. Production is distributed between five plants situated in central and northern Italy, with a total surface area of over 450,000 m 2, of which more than 48,000 are indoors. The company has 360 employees. Paver makes a wide variety of patented products. Each is decisively original the result of continuous research carried out by the company technical staff, which has created over 52 patents. Since 1968, this company has been using innovative technologies and applying them to iron processing for reinforced concrete. 15 Since 1994, Paver has held the ICMQ mark for the design and production of prefabricated concrete structural components (n 94058, dated 20/09/1994). The particular technology used and the high standard of the inspections carried out in compliance with the ISO 9001 standards guarantee an acknowledged level of quality. 14

16 PRODUCT CERTIFICATION Paver has chosen the path of certifications by Third Parties (ICMQ) of the values required by regulations, and has in this manner also accepted the procedure established by the legislator for the certification of declared values on the basis of the principles of Clarity at the foundation of the regulation itself. In particular, the Certifying Entity will carry out, at the productive establishments, one inspectional visit a year with the corresponding sample-taking process for verification of compliance with the declared values during the certification phase. In addition to this there will be a second inspectional visit with samples taken from the production line at random points. THE COMPANY QUALITY Paver has certified, by means of a Third Party (ICMQ), their own company quality system, in compliance with the UNI EN ISO 9001:2000 standard: the certificate concerns design, production, transportation and assembly of the prefabricated concrete structural components. Furthermore, the production of floors, plates and vibro-compacted concrete blocks has also been certified. THE CE MARKING The CE marking is a mark that must be given to specific types of products in order to prove that they comply (or conform) with all the applicable community directives. Application of the mark is a legal requirement in order to be able to commercialise the products in the countries belonging to the European Economic Space (SEE). The presence of the CE mark gives consumers a guarantee that the product has the characteristics necessary for safe use. All the Paver Costruzioni products are CE marked on the basis of the requirements of Directive 89/106/CEE.
