3 PROJECT DESCRIPTION 1. Project will include the construction of a new Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (S.T.E.M.) High School Academic Building at the Passaic County Technical Institute, 45 Reinhardt Road, Wayne New Jersey. The new building will be 3 levels set into a sloped site allowing for grade access on each level. The new space will include classrooms, science and engineering labs. And open learning areas and offices spaced throughout the approximately +/- 118,700 SF building. The +/- 21,700 SF lower level will be the main entrance with a new exterior canopy and will primarily contain educational spaces that connect to an exterior plaza an expanded parking lot. The +/- 40,100 SF Intermediate level connects to a new outdoor plaza and path that will connect to the existing schools FX-Wings ground floor. This level will contain a cafeteria, in addition to, classrooms and offices. The +/- 57,000 Upper Level will house classrooms, gymnasium with locker rooms and 2 large lecture rooms with an operable partition. 2. The building will be constructed of poured concrete foundations and steel frame super structure. The perimeter walls will be insulated metal panels with a cold formed metal stud back up. Aluminum windows will occur at the classroom areas with curtain walls at the entries and cafeteria. A translucent wall system is scheduled for the gym, canopies and roof skylights. 3. Interior finishes include predominately painted GWB stud wall partitions with interior glass windows and operable glass walls, wood doors with hollow metal frames with access control, LVT flooring, polished concrete flooring, carpet, Epoxy flooring and ceramic tile. Acoustical, GWB and exposed painted structure as finish will occur at ceilings, At the gymnasium maple flooring with motorized bleachers will be installed. 4. Site work includes rock removal and excavation, new storm and sanitary lines, electrical and gas utility services, as well as, additional low voltage interface between the new S.T.E.M. Building and the existing main building campus. For areas within the building pad foot print, the site was previously cleared and prepared under separate contract for the installation of the building within its footprint. PROJECT DESCRIPTION 1
