2 MAGIC GEL RAYTECH has developed an insulating and sealing polymeric gel with fast cross linking at normal room temperature. The Magic Gel kit contains two bottles of fluid, a small mixing basin and a spoon. Specially designed with Health and Safety in mind and to eliminate detrimental effects on the environment, the fluids combine in equal quantities to provide a non-toxic, re-enterable cable jointing gel - ideal for filling enclosures, boxes and terminal blocks etc. It is most suitable for anti corrosion protection, insulating and sealing applications. 3 The importance of Flame Retardant Tube in LV applications cannot be underestimated, especially in the Heavy Wall range. Heavy Wall Tube is normally installed in confined spaces, including LV panels, switchgear, cable trays, and underground environments. Places where, if started, a fire could destroy valuable plant and equipment and possibly put lives at risk. The Flame Retardant Tube will self extinguish, prohibiting extensive electrical and fire damage to your valuable assets. The minimum shrink temperature of Heavy Wall Tube generally exceeds the melting temperature of the most common LV cable sheaths (predominately PVC and XLPE). Therefore, it is advantageous to minimise the cable s exposure to excessive heat, which could create long term degradation of the cable insulation. You don t want to compromise your cable insulation because you have applied excessive heat to your Heavy Wall Tube. This is why the appropriate shrink ratio of a minimum 3 to 1 is so important - to facilitate fast and accurate shrinkage so you don t compromise your cable. All heatshrink is not created equal. Secure and reliable design The 3EK7 series is based on a cage of pre-stressed fibre reinforced plastic rods for high mechanical strength, reducing the risk of internal components being ejected. In the extremely rare event of the resistors being overloaded, arcing cannot result in a build up of critical internal pressure, since the resistors are not enclosed in a sealed mechanical shell. Thus, the arc can escape through the silicone sheath, leaving the mechanical support structure of the enclosure unharmed. The cage is lightweight design and yet it offers excellent torsional, tensile and cantilever strength: Maximum working cantilever strength of 350 Nm. Silicone rubber is resistant to UV and ozone exposure as well as to all common organic and non-organic solvents and cleaning agents. Therefore, the 3EK7 is suitable for any environmental conditions of industrial areas as well as in desert or coastal regions. 3EK7 arresters are suitable for a temperature range from 55 C to +60 C.
