1 High Performance Plastics for the Oil and Gas Industry 06/2015 Composites and Thermoplastics

2 Röchling world leader in engineering plastics Röchling High Performance Engineering Plastics Röchling have over 7,000 employees based in over 60 locations in 20 countries worldwide. Röchling stands for innovative products and cutting edge process technology in the processing of high performance technical plastics. The high performance plastics division product range covers the range of high-performance plastics within the Röchling Group. With world-wide subsidiaries as well as sales and distribution offices, the Röchling High Performance Group has a leading position internationally in producing and machining thermoplastics and composites for many industries. The product range covers extruded, polymerised and pressed semi-finished products, such as dia rods, flat bar, sheet, tube profiles, extruded profiles, special custom cast polyamide (nylon) parts, fibre reinforced plastics and finished machined end products. Customer orientated The ability to adapt and meet the customer s demands, are the way ahead. In an ever changing world, the needs of the customers must be met and delivered. Whether a customer demands pultruded, extruded, moulded, custom or standard cast components, the Röchling group will have it covered. Röchling will provide a solution to bring you, the customer, ideas to fruition. Röchling approvals and testing Röchling, in order to meet our customer s demands are heavily involved in maintaining and improving their ISO approvals. We work strictly to the following: Quality approval ISO 9001:2008 Health and Safety ISO (in progress) FPAL Registered Medical ISO Manufactured materials are subjected to permanent quality compliance tests in phases of production. Standard factory certification 3.2 is standard issue. 3.1 and 2.2 can also be provided. 3 High performance thermoplastics and composites High Performance Thermoplastics From manufacturing polyethylene, polypropylene, acetal, nylon and PVDF, Röchling also manufactures PEEK (Poly Ether Ether Ketone). PEEK offers properties in excess of anything previously mentioned, such as: Higher temperature resistance Excellent mechanical Dimensional stability Good chemical resistance Low weight (1/7th weight of steel) Excellent long term creep characteristics Corrosion resistant High Performance Composites Fibre composites are used in various fields and are making a name for themselves in many harsh environments. The glass formulation and resin selection are vital for the application required. Properties offered by composites include the following: Low specific weight High Electrical insulation Corrosion resistant Thermal insulation Resistant to chemicals Thermoplastic or Composite? It can be difficult to know which material is the best solution for your own application and what material is the most economically viable as well. Röchling will offer their support and assistance in the correct selection of the appropriate material. We have no agenda to direct you down the most expensive route. We will identify the correct material for the correct application. Using Plastics in harsh environments? As the remaining reserves of Oil and gas become harder to collect, the environments are becoming more severe. In many instances this will dictate if the introduction of thermoplastics or composites will meet the required demands. Whether it is higher temperatures, higher loads or aggressive chemicals, let Röchling help you. We have in Röchling, many years of experience and would like to impart this knowledge to our customers. All enquiries welcome. 150 C High-performance plastics amorphous SUSTAPEI SUSTAPPSU SUSTAPES SUSTAPSU semi-crystalline SUSTAPEEK SUSTAPPS SUSTAECTFE SUSTAPVDF Polystone PVDF Typical Oil and Gas applications LARS sheaves.
