2 ADDENDUM NO. 1 SR163/N 46TH ST TO N 54TH ST INTERSECTION IMPROVEMENT PROJECT REVISIONS TO CONTRACT DOCUMENTS VOLUME 1 OF 2 PART 1, DIVISION 00, CONTRACT PROVISIONS 1. Bidder s Proposal a. Replace pages 2 and 3 of 5 with the attached pages 2 and 3 labeled Addendum 1. Changes include the following: A16 Remove Catch Basin shall be increased in quantity to 8 Each. A29 PVC Storm Sewer Pipe 12 In. Diam. shall be increased in quantity to 125 LF. A33 Catch Basin Type 1 shall be increased in quantity to 7 Each. A37 Adjust Manhole shall be increased in quantity to 9 Each. SPECIAL PROVISIONS 1. Section 7-05, Manholes, Inlets, Catch Basins, and Drywells a. Supplement the last paragraph of , Payment, with the following: The unit contract price for Adjust Manhole will include adjusting catch basin structures. 2. Section 8-03, Irrigation Systems a. Section (6), Electrical Wire Installation: replace the first paragraph with the following: Provide and install #14 gauge, solid copper, jacketed 2-wire control wire with a 2-wire decoder for each solenoid valve. Control wire shall run with irrigation mainline. A valve number label shall be placed at each control valve. Splices will be permitted only at junction boxes, valve boxes, or at control equipment. A minimum 2 feet of excess conductor is to be left at all splices, terminals, and control valves. b. Section (6), Electrical Wire Installation: replace the last paragraph with the following: Sleeve all control wire. Include one bare copper locator wire (#14) parallel to each irrigation pipeline that does not otherwise have control wires in trench. 3. Section 8-04, Curbs, Gutters, and Spillways a. Section (6), Cold Weather Work: delete the second bullet in its entirety. 3 4. Section 8-18, Mailbox Support a. Section , Payment, is supplemented with the following: Mailboxes per lump sum shall be full pay for all work and materials required to install the foundations and posts necessary to support for the existing mail boxes at their new location. 5. Section 8-22, Pavement Marking a. Supplement with the following new Section , Materials: Materials This section is supplemented with the following: All Plastic symbols, markings and lines, shall be Type B Preformed retro-reflective thermoplastic pavement marking material incorporating a pre-applied bead coating that can be adhered to asphalt, concrete and Portland Cement Concrete pavements by means of heat fusion. The applied markings shall be very durable, oil and grease impervious, and provide immediate and continuing retro-reflectivity meeting the requirements of Section PLANS 1. Replace the following sheets with the attached sheets labeled Addendum 11/01/2017: Sheet XS3 (5 of 67) has been modified to include a notes related to the temporary pavement section. Sheet SD1 (23 of 67) has been modified to include the addition of a Type 1 catch basin and PVC storm pipe. Sheet DM4 (10 of 67) has been modified to remove the Planing hatch at Show removal of two existing Catch Basins. Sheet RD1 (12 of 67) has been modified to remove the 20-foot overlay section at Sheet RBT4 (31 of 67) has been modified clarify the doweling requirements for the truck aprons. Sheet L4.02 (51 of 67). The legend symbol for the Hunter MP800SR was corrected to match the symbols shown in the irrigation plans. The updated legend symbol has been clouded in the sheet. 4 PROJECT INFORMATION/UPDATE Tacoma Power is expected to have their pole relocations complete prior to the start of the project. There could be some overlap with that timeline. Plan for the poles to be in their ultimate location as shown in the Bid Plans and in the Power Pole Location Figure (included). Tacoma Water is expected to perform their work during the project. They anticipate needing a 10-day window to complete this work. Please find the included Tacoma Water Main Replacement Project preliminary plans for their work and location. This will aid in your scheduling/sequencing for the project.
