OL3 Project Progress > 50% of the Civil Works completed Click Here to access > 178,900 m3 concrete worked up (NI+TI) > ~30,000 t reinforcement steel assembled (NI+TI) > 2,149 t embedded parts (NI) > ~3,500 people on site (Consortium AREVA & Siemens) > Peak mobilization: 4,500 people in 2009 > 60 different nationalities registered since 2005 / about 30 working at once > Reactor Building: height +44 m > Manufacturing of main primary components nearly achieved: The first Steam Generator is almost finished in AREVA Chalon. The Reactor Pressure Vessel left MHI in Kobe, Japan, by boat to Olkiluoto 3. It will arrive end of December. The machining of the main coolant lines is finished in Nordon, France. > Next steps: Final assembly of the Pressurizer in AREVA St Marcel. Components delivered on site from end 2008 to end Erection works, with maximum activity in Summer the EPR Projects Internet site 6

OL3 Project Progress > Next-to-last double ring liner successfully installed The metal containment double ring liner was successfully lifted into the reactor building on November 1 st. Part of the third and last leak-tight reactor protection barrier, it prevents radioactivity from escaping into the atmosphere. Following lifting and installation of this 220-ton double ring, the inner containment was raised from level +25 m to level +36 m. This operation is a further important step in the construction of the reactor building, prior to the installation of the polar crane which will take place in The welding of this double ring liner to the previous one (installed in May) will begin soon. Beginning 2009, the last double ring will be lifted into the reactor building. The polar crane, which will be used to move equipment into the reactor building, will be installed once the last double ring liner welding is complete. It is one of the site construction activities critical paths. > Installation of the first accumulator completed The first 62-ton stainless steel accumulator was successfully lifted on November 6 th in the reactor building. This is the first of four manufactured accumulators (one per primary loop) that are part of the low-head safety injection system. 9 FA3 Project Progress As of November 2008: > Equipment manufacturing status: Forging of main primary components is 94% finished. The eight main coolant lines are under manufacturing at Nordon in France. The equipment of the Steam Generator is in progress at AREVA St Marcel. Machining works on the Reactor Pressure Vessel are in progress at AREVA St Marcel. > The first vertical sections of the reactor building s metal liner are currently being assembled. > The assembly of mechanical parts is also underway, including installation of safeguard system pipes. > Reinforcement work on the turbine-generator foundation block has begun. The reinforcement work will take 4 months, prior to the pouring of concrete. In addition, more than half of the steel structure s outer skirt is now assembled, to be completed by the end of the year. > Work on the on-land shaft has fallen behind and solutions for meeting the discharge structure completion deadline are now being finalized. > Digging of the offshore shaft was completed in September, while installation of the metal liner (measuring 62 meters in length and 6 meters in diameter) was also completed. This was the first digging operation to have been performed in history for such a large diameter. > The service tunnels, which will connect the various buildings of the future plant, and through which cables, pipes and personnel transit areas will be routed, have now been completed with the exception of the building junctions, which will be completed as the buildings are constructed. > 1,200 contractors are employed on the construction site, as well as 60 EDF staff members. Peak mobilizatioin ( ) 2,300 people Click Here to access the EPR Projects Internet site 9

Taishan Project Progress > EPR Taishan 1&2: Start of the manufacturing of the steam generator for Taishan Unit 1 AREVA St Marcel has started the manufacturing of the steam generator for Taishan Unit 1 this week, notably with the welding of the tube plate temporary handling. Mid- November, cladding will begin. Click Here to access the EPR Projects Internet site 10

Japan Steel Works, Ltd. and AREVA sign major industrial agreement > WHO: AREVA and Japan Steel Works, Ltd. sign a major industrial agreement on large forged part procurement on November 4th. > WHAT: JSW agrees to supply AREVA with large forged parts for the manufacture of nuclear components until 2016 and beyond. Also, AREVA makes friendly acquisition of 1.3% of JSW stock. > IMPORTANCE: This agreement is a continuation of one signed between the two companies in April of this year. It is part of a long-term investment program and marks another important stage in the relationship between the two groups, confirming their position as preferred partners. The agreement confirms JSW as the world leader for the supply of large forged parts, allowing them to proceed to the next round of capacity expansion. It also enables AREVA to secure supplies to meet growing demand of nuclear customers. Click Here to access the joint press release 11

ANS honors Chalon with its Nuclear Historic Landmark Award > Presented on November 11th at the Winter ANS Conference > Previously awarded to AREVA s La Hague site in 2005 > Recognizes distinguished sites that have made significant contributions to the development of nuclear energy > Click HERE for the article at Electric Energy Online This prestigious distinction pays tribute to the entire group, the professionalism of our teams, and AREVA s industrial strategy. 14 November 11, 2008 AREVA's Chalon Saint- Marcel Plant Honored by American Nuclear Society Notable Quotes Reactor parts deal for Areva 05 November 2008 Areva and Japan Steel Works (JSW) have signed a deal to ensure the French company's supply of major components for new nuclear power plants. As part of the deal, Areva has taken a 1.3% stake in JSW which would be worth $41.5 million based on JSW's current share price of 852 per share. Nagata concluded: "I am sure that our business relationship with Areva will be expanded further in the future." As Finland Builds Another Nuclear Plant, a Remote City Flourishes Published: November 15, 2008 RAUMA, Finland The cafe where Paivi Alanko-Rehelma serves coffee and smoked fish stands practically in the shadow of a sprawling building site on the island of Olkiluoto where Finland is erecting a nuclear power plant, the island s third, and Finland s fifth in the last 30 years. Like many of her neighbors who have grown accustomed to nuclear energy, Ms. Alanko-Rehelma picks no bones with the new reactor. It s now safe, it saves nature, it s cheaper, she said, pouring a visitor a steaming cup of coffee. The Finns are going first class, building what is called a European Pressurized Reactor, the world s latest model, which is billed as the safest and most powerful nuclear reactor ever designed. France reassures on cleanness of nuclear sites Fri Nov 7, :56am EST PARIS (Reuters) - Tests on water tables under French nuclear sites, after a major uranium leak in the south earlier this year, showed there were no significant environmental or health dangers, a government committee said on Friday. 14
