2 Advertisement for bids Bid Proposal Sealed bids for Spring Lake Public Schools-High School Storage Buildings will be received at Spring Lake Public Schools, 345 Hammond St., Spring Lake MI on Wednesday, March 28, 2018 until 1:00 pm local time. Bids received after the time will not be accepted. All proposals received by the time and date above will be opened and read publicly at 1:00 pm local time on Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at The Spring lake Public Schools Central Office, 345 Hammond St. Spring Lake, MI Bids may be mailed to the address above when labeled: Storage Building Mailed bids must be received prior to the bid due time and date stated above. Faxed or ed bids will not be accepted. In accordance with Section 1267 of the Revised School Cod each bid must be accompanied by a sworn and notarized Familial Disclosure Statement completed by the bidder disclosing any familial relationship between the Owner or any employee of the Bidder and any member of the District s Board of Education or the Superintendent of the District. Site Inspection For a site inspection prior to the bid due date. Request for a site visit can be made to rescorlt@springlakeschools.org Bid Documents The bidding documents may obtained by request to rescorlt@springlakeschools.org. Bidder Qualifications Bidder s submitting a Bid for the Project shall have qualifications as follows: a. Shall be reputable, recognized organization, with at least five (5) years successful experience on work of this type and scope of project. b. Shall have a license where required by public authorities having jurisdiction. c. Shall have ample financial resources for work of this magnitude. Bid Security-Performance Bonds Each bid shall be accompanied by good and sufficient bid security or bid bond in an amount not less than 5% of the Bid amount and shall secure the Owner from loss or damage by reason of withdrawal of the Bid by a Bidder or by failure of the successful Bidder to enter into a Contract with the Owner if his/her Bid is accepted by the Owner. The successful Bidder will be required to secure Performance, Labor and Material bonds for all contracts at or exceeding $50,000 from a surety company having a rating of A- or better, for the full amount of the Contract. This is a prevailing wage project.

3 Bidding Procedures Bids shall be submitted on the Bid Proposal Form included within the bidding documents. The contractor shall include in their Bid Proposal all applicable sales and uses taxes. In accordance with Section 1267 of the Revised School Code each bid must be accompanied by a sworn and notarized Familial Disclosure Statement completed by the bidder disclosing any familial relationship between the Owner or any employee of the Bidder and any member of the District s Board of Education or the Superintendent of the District. Bid Security Bid security shall be in the form of either a Certified or Cashier s Check on an open and solvent bank or bid bond issued by Surety Company payable to the Owner in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the base bid. After the time and date of receipt of Bids, a bid may not be modified, withdrawn or cancelled by the Bidder for sixty (60) days. Consideration of Bids The Owner reserves the right to accept or refuse any or all bids and their decision for award will be based on the best interest for Spring Lake Public Schools. After the Owner has awarded the Bid, the Owner will prepare a Bid Award letter and send a Purchase Order In the amount of said Bid. Bidder must submit the required Insurance Document stating the Additionally Insured as Spring Lake Public Schools. Post-Bid Information The Owner may make such investigation as they deem necessary to determine the ability of the Bidder to perform the work. The Bidder shall furnish all such information and data to this purpose as the Owner may request within twenty four (24) hours, including, but not limited to, lists of project completed, financial statements for the past two (2) years, a current list of work in progress. The Owner reserves the right to reject any bid if the evidence submitted, or investigation of such Bidder, fails to prove that such Bidder is properly qualified to carry out the obligations of the contract and to complete the work. 4 Description of Work Building #1 Size: 40 x60 x12 Post Frame Building 4/12 Load design trusses, 24 oc ½ OSB roof decking CertainTeed or Owen Corning Limited Lifetime Architectural Shingles to match existing High School roof shingles Shingle over vented ridge cap Flush gables Overhang on sides 12 with 2 x 6 sub-fascia & steel vented soffit & fascia trim Excavation: By Owner Doors: 1-10 x10 Non-insulated ribbed steel commercial overhead door, no windows, color: TBD 1-32 FRP service door in hollow metal frame, no window, color: TBD Walls: 6x6 columns 8 on center and on precast concrete footings 2x8 wolmanized treated skirt with metal base trim Painted steel siding, screw applied, color: TBD Concrete: Floor to be 4 slab on grade, wire reinforced Door apron for the overhead door to be 4 x 6 x10 with a ¼ slope, Door apron for service door to be 4 x4 x4 with a ¼ slope Electrical: Contractor shall run electric from existing track restrooms to storage building Install 6-LED Surface mounted light fixtures w/lens on roof trusses with Occupancy sensor Install 2-LED exterior wall packs w/photo eye, 1 over the overhead door and 1 over service door Install 6 electrical outlets on side walls, placement TBD

5 Building #2 Size: 24 x32 x12 Construction to be the same with the exception of the following: Electrical: Contractor will run power to the storage building from the High School Install 4 LED surface mounted light fixtures w/lens on roof trusses with Occupancy sensor Install 1 LED exterior wall pack w/photo eye above overhead door Install 3 electrical outlets Walls: Steel walls will match colors of the existing split faced block and brick to blend in with High School building. Schedule Project start date: June 11, 2018 Project Completion Date: July 30, 2018
