Monday 4/8 and Tuesday 4/9 Sessions: 8:00 AM to 12 Noon and 1:15 to 4:00 PM Morning Break: 10:00 AM Lunch: 12 Noon Afternoon Break: 2:00 PM Business Meeting will be held at the Monday Lunch Program Election of Officer s will be held at the Tuesday Lunch Program Vendor Expo will be held all day on Monday. The Vendor Event starts at 5:00 PM on Monday. Beer, Wine and Hor d oeuvres Companions Program will be held both Monday and Tuesday. See Conference Program for more details. Registration Registration Fees include: seminar, instruction and reference materials, continental breakfast, AM and PM breaks and lunch each day, along with the vendor expo on Monday. Codes and other reference materials are not provided and are the responsibility of the attendee. Costs Per Person $325 - Full Registration Monday and Tuesday Seminars, Vendor Expo and Breaks/Lunch and ESBOF Membership. $175 - One Day Registration Monday or Tuesday includes seminar, continental breakfast, AM/PM Breaks and Lunch and vendor expo on Monday, Membership not included. $45 - Companions Program Monday will have an audio tour of 2 mansions. 3 Conference Sessions Descriptions Monday April 8, IRC/IBC Updates CEU: 0.6 (Full Day) The International Building Code (IBC ) and International Residential Code (IRC) continues to establish minimum regulations for building systems using prescriptive and performance-related provisions. It is founded on principles that make use of new materials and new building designs. This course will identify important changes in the IBC from 2012 to 2015 edition. Participants will be presented with those changes that will most impact their use of the code when they adopt the 2015 IBC. The learner will receive an overview of the most important code changes Instructor: To be determined - ICC Reviewing and Inspecting for ADA Compliance Morning Session - Every community is now struggling to ensure compliance with the Accessibility statues on existing buildings and new construction. This workshop will focus on what are the major items that you should be checking for during the plan review stages to ensure compliance is achieved. In addition, all phases of the inspection process will be reviewed to verify compliance with applicable standards and discuss common mistakes made at this stage. Instructor: Deborah Ryan Introduction to the International Swimming Pool and Spa Code Morning Session Pool safety is an important concern of all code officials. This course will provide training on all aspects of the International Swimming Pool and Spa Codes. It will review stats on death and injuries for pool related incidents and identify specific code criteria designed to protect the public. Instructor: Gene Novak Fire-resistive construction requirements of the IBC and UL resources for Code Officials. CEU: 0.3 ( ½ Day) Afternoon Session The education session provides an overview of fire-resistance requirements for building assemblies based on the 2015 IBC Chapter 7. This course reviews the specific code requirements; testing of assemblies based on UL263/ASTM E119 and other methods permitted by the IBC; best practices for determining code compliance during plan review and field inspections. The class also provides an overview on the latest UL Resources that are available to support building and fire code officials with their responsibilities to ensure code compliance and the safety of the built environment. Instructor: Bruce Johnson Code Compliance for Signs Afternoon Session The enforcement authority governing signs is now complicated by numerous legal decisions. This course will provide extensive insight regarding Building Code and Zoning Criteria. Instructor: Raymond Brayton 3

4 Conference Sessions Descriptions Tuesday April 9, IMC/IPC/IFGC Significant Changes CEU: 0.6 (Full Day) Overviews the changes from the 2012 to the 2015 International Plumbing Code, 2015 International Mechanical Code and 2015 International Fuel Gas Code. This course identifies changes in organization and code requirements and the applicability of these requirements to design, plan review and inspection and uses the Significant Changes to the International Plumbing Code, International Mechanical Code and International Fuel Gas Code 2015 Edition. Instructor: To be determined ICC Fire-resistive construction requirements of the IBC and UL resources for Code Officials. CEU: 0.3 ( ½ Day) The education session provides an overview of fire-resistance requirements for building assemblies based on the 2015 IBC Chapter 7. Many horrific building collapses and catastrophic building system failures have led to building code mandated special inspections. We will cover all the required categories of special inspections, applicable referenced standards, qualifications of the special inspector, examples of submittals / reports, and outline the methodology of creating a special inspections program for your jurisdiction. Instructor: Erik Wight 2018 IRC/IBC Updates CEU: 0.6 (Full Day) The International Building Code (IBC ) and International Residential Code (IRC) continue to establish minimum regulations for building systems using prescriptive and performance-related provisions.
