This means that a sample from each production length is tested to destruction and must either equal or exceed the published minimum breaking load. Brunton Shaw UK ensure correct and consistent diameter during manufacture by applying the rigorous Sizerite regime of diameter measurement throughout the production process. BSUK s Rotary Drilling Lines are used in many of the world s on-shore and offshore fields. Manufactured in accordance with standards laid down by the API and ISO ANSI/API Specification 9A and ISO The range includes BSUK s DrillmasterPlus incorporating a special design polymer impregnated IWRC for proven increase in service life. Exhaustive field trials were carried out over a three year period on a semi-submersible rig operating in the North Sea. At regular slip and cut intervals, samples of the drill line were taken and subjected to detailed examination and test to determine the condition of the rope. By careful management the ton/miles achieved were increased by more than 50% at the conclusion of the trials compared with the ton/mile interval for a standard construction drill line.
