This assessment includes the use of the systems internally where Group 3 materials are permitted to be used in sprinkler protected buildings as outlined in BCA Specification C1.10, clause 4 (BCA Volume One). Note: Test reports indicating the group number of wall and ceiling linings determined under versions of the BCA applicable prior to 1 May 2016 remain valid until 1 May The assessment includes the use of the systems externally on buildings of Type C construction as determined by the BCA Volume One, where no fire resistance level is required (excluding buildings of Type A or B construction) 3. The structural adequacy of the building structure that the systems are attached is outside the scope of this assessment and is to be designed taking into consideration the installation details and requirements of the Danpal polycarbonate roof and wall sheeting systems. 4. The system has not been assessed for compliance with earthquake actions as outlined in AS1170.4:2007. Installations of the system will need specific assessment of potential earthquake actions. 5. The assessment does not include the Controlite system, Danpatherm system, Everbright system, Louvre profile system and the Spacetruss profile system. 6. Reference to FP1.4 relates to minimum 16mm thick sheeting and sheeting joints. The assessment excludes flashing and where there is a need to water penetration pressure exceeding 360Pa. 7. Seamless Façade version 2, 16-May-17 This document contains the information on the most common installation details to be used for the façade 3. Danpal Typical Installation Details version 2 This document contains the information on the most common installation details to be used for the roof and façade systems. 7 In addition, fasteners must be fixed to the building structure and the panels must be positioned into the fasteners. A connector is clipped over the join between sheets to provide the concealed fixing and to weather seal the joint. Spans may be increased using larger aluminium connectors to join the panels or proprietary aluminium framing under the panels. Proprietary edge trims and perimeter flashings must be installed as appropriate. A6 Other relevant technical data 1. Test No CN (Date 17/02/2009): This report contains the results of testing the Danpalon multicell polycarbonate panels to AS/NZS 3837:1998. The test results show the product achieves a Group 3 classification according to BCA Specification A2.4 and an average specific extinction area exceeding 250 m²/kg. Note: Table 1 of BCA Specification A1.3 confirms these results remain valid until 1 May EngTest (The University of Adelaide, The School of Civil Environmental and Mining Engineering) Report, Danpalon Impact Test 4mm. Test Numbers C971001/C (Dates November/December 1997): The report contains the results of testing to AS :1996 and concludes that DP4 (solid polycarbonate, 4mm thick, 600mm wide) meets the requirements for the test thus eliminating the need for safety mesh. 3. EngTest (The University of Adelaide, The School of Civil Environmental and Mining Engineering) Report, Danpalon Impact Test 8mm. Test Numbers C971001/C (Dates November/December 1997): The report contains the results of testing to AS :1996 and concludes that DP8 (twin wall polycarbonate, 8mm thick, 600mm wide) meets the requirements for the test thus eliminating the need for safety mesh. 4. EngTest (The University of Adelaide, The School of Civil Environmental and Mining Engineering) Report, Danpalon Impact Test 10mm. Test Numbers C971001/C (Dates November/December 1997): The report contains the results of testing to AS :1996 and concludes that DP10 (triple wall polycarbonate, 10mm thick, 600mm wide) meets the requirements for the test thus eliminating the need for safety mesh. EngTest (The University of Adelaide, The School of Civil Environmental and Mining Engineering), Report on the Impact Testing of 12mm Multi-Cell Panel 900mm Wide (DP12) with Polycarbonate Connector (DPC) and DPKF12HD Fasteners. Report Reference No. C (Date: 4 September 2012): The report contains the results of impact tests to AS on 12mm multicell panel sheeting (DP12). The report concludes the test results showed the panel satisfied the criteria described in clause 5.3 of AS Ian Bennie and Associates, 16mm Danpalon DP16 Polycarbonate Sheeting on Steel Rafters Impact Test to AS/NZS Test Report No S1 (Date: March 2010): The report contains the results of impact tests to AS/NZS :2006 on 16mm Danpalon DP16 polycarbonate sheeting on steel rafters. The report concludes that sample passed the test requirement of AS Clause CSIRO Infrastructure Technologies, Evaluation of Danpalon panel to requirements of ISO Report No. EP (Date: 25 July 2014): The report documents a fire test and fire safety engineering assessment for Danpalon panel wall/façade and roof system. The report describes the ISO free standing room corner test conducted and the subsequent fire engineering assessment. The report concludes the product is a Group 3 classification material with an average specific extinction area exceeding 250 m²/kg and a smoke growth rate exceeding 100. The product can be used in buildings fitted with a complying sprinkler system where Group 3 materials are permitted. It can also be used as a wall/façade and ceiling/roof material that is not installed internally to a solid building construction and is openly vented to the exterior surface (excluding buildings of Type A or B construction). 8. EngTest (The University of Adelaide, The School of Civil Environmental and Mining Engineering), Report on the Low High Low Cyclonic Testing of Plastic Roof Sheeting. Report Reference No. C (Rev B) (Date: 25th May 2009): The report contains the results of cycle testing to AS on 10mm and 16mm multicell panel sheeting used as roof cladding. The report concludes the test results showed the roof cladding and its fasteners remained in position notwithstanding any permanent distortion, fracture or damage leading to its detachment from the test setup and hence satisfied the requirements of the BCA. 9. Window Engineering Consultants, Testing report of Danpalon panel façade for Maritime Museum of New Zealand in accordance with AS/NZS 4284:2008 (Report No dated 16 June 2008). The report contains the results tests to AS/NZS 4284:2008 on the 16mm Danpalon panel façade system. The following results were recorded: Structural Test at Serviceability Limit State Wind Pressure: Panel joint deflections in the lower 1500mm span of approx. span/375, with centre of panel deflections of approx. 42mm at the 1200Pa positive Serviceability pressure and 37mm in the Pa negative pressure. Air Infiltration Test: Vertical joints provided net infiltration rate of 0.22 l/s.m in positive pressure direction and 0.15 l/s.m in negative pressure direction. Static Water Penetration Test: No water penetration at test pressure of 360Pa. Cyclic Pressure Water Penetration Test: No water penetration at test pressure of 360Pa. 10. Dr. Engineer Manfred Mahler, K-Value Calculations for polycarbonate 600/16 Multicell, 600/12 Multicell, 600/10 Multicell and 600/8 Multicell.
