3 1.0 PROJECT INFORMATION: Hinduja National Power Corporation Ltd (HNPCL) is setting up a Coal fired Vizag Thermal Power plant at Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. The capacity of the proposed Thermal power project is 1040 MW with 2 X 520 MW configurations with sub critical steam parameters. Plant location. The Proposed Plant will be located at the coastal site near village Pavalavasa, Coast of Bay of Bengal, approximately 22.5 km southwest of Visakhapatnam in the state of Andhra Pradesh. Access to Site. Approach to the site by road is from Yelamamchali-Gajuwaka highway & by rail to the broad gauge Kolkata-Chennai line via a spur at Duvvada station. The site is close to Visakhapatnam steel which is along the coast to the North-East & the nearest airport is at Visakhapatnam located at a distance of 30 kms from the Project site. 4 Wind loading The basic wind speed Vb at 10 mtrs above the mean ground level 50 m/sec & the various other design parameters/coefficients/stipulations, as defined in IS :875 ( part 3) is to be applied for this project site. 2.0 SCOPE OF SUPPLY P U Coated pipe with following parameters: i) pipe size 450 NB with wall thickness 7.14 mm. ii) Thickness of Polyurethane Coating Minimum 2000 microns iii) Thickness of outer MS shell/ casing Minimum 7.14 mm iv) The MS pipe shall conform to IS grade Fe 410 v) The pipe shall be sourced from reputed manufacturers viz. SAIL, JINDAL, Maharashtra Seamless, Welspun and Surya Roshni or equivalent. Sl no. Description Qty. 5 3.0 INSPECTIONS & TESTING Shop Testing: a) Polyurethane coated MS ERW / SW pipes shall be tested for Chemical & Mechanical properties. b) The Hydraulic pressure testing at shop with PU coated pipes at minimum 7 Kg/cm2. The material inspection, testing & certificates in accordance with IS: 3589 shall be furnished in soft copy & 4 sets of hard copies before inspection of the Pipes at manufacturer s works. These pipes will be inspected and tested as per IS-3589 by BHEL/HNPCL representatives at manufacturer s works. 4.0 TECHNICAL INPUTS TO BE FURNISHED/ CONFIRMED ALONG WITH THE OFFER a) Manufacturer QAP shall be submitted for approval. b) Sizes (diameter, thickness, length of each pipe), quantity & weight per meter of the offered Pipes are to be furnished. c) Testing pressure shall be indicated in the offer. 5.0 DELIVERY CONDITION: a) The pipes shall be supplied with suitable flanges at both ends. b) Rust preventive coating (suitable for saline atmosphere) shall be applied on the pipes by the successful bidder before dispatch. c) These pipes shall be supplied at lengths of 10 to 12 mtrs.
