Our manufacturing process reduces discarded materials to a minimum, with the goal of creating less refuse and wasting less energy. BECAUSE we use eco-compatible material free from hazardous substances to protect its workers and its customers health. For example, thanks to the use of special water based varnishes which are completely void of toxic substances, Fontanot is authorized to apply the A+ label to its products, which indicates the class with the lowest grade of emission of noxious substances, in defense of the air quality and of the environment. Varnishing phase BECAUSE Fontanot does not accept wood from illegally cut trees and for Arkè has obtained FSC certification (Forest Stewardship Council ) which guarantees that the wood originates from responsibly managed forests.

7 The CE symbol indicates that the product complies with all the community regulations that allow its use in the European Union. 00 Why choose a CE marked product The CE marking is a label which indicates that the product complies to the essential requirements for the product s sale and use in the European Union. 00 How to obtain the CE marking First of all one must demonstrate with lab tests and calculations that the stair satisfies the essential requirements of the European regulations. Secondly, one needs to obtain a technical approval (ETA) by an approval authority (in our case, the Institute for Construction Technologies which belongs to the National Research Committee) which certifies and demonstrates the stair s safety, resistance, durability and functionality. If there is already an opening: measure the opening on the upper floor. For a round opening, measure the diameter. For all the other types of opening measure all the sides. If the opening still needs to be prepared: identify the type of staircase based on the dimensions of the stairwell (see the online configurations), then establish the position and dimensions of the opening.
