Quarter Round Quarter Round is most commonly applied to cover the expansion gap between the flooring and the wall. End Cap (Square Edge) End Cap (often times called Square Edge or Threshold) is most commonly used when butting up to carpet or a sliding glass door. T-Mold T-Mold is used when joining two floors of equal height, such as in a doorway between two rooms or in a large area where the maximum length/width is exceeded. Stair Nose Stair Nose is used when ending flooring at the top of either a landing or downward staircase. Reducer Reducer is used when ending the flooring onto a surface such as concrete. 3 Revised 10/9/2015 WARRANTY BENTLEYLaminate LIFETIME RESIDENTIAL WARRANTY & 5 YEAR LIGHT COMMERCIAL WARRANTY Manufacturer warrants that this laminate floor: Will not stain from normal household consumable items such as food or drink. Will not wear through the decorative surface (scratches or reduction in gloss level is not considered wear). Will not fade as a result of direct sunlight or household lighting. Will be free of manufacturing defects. * 5 year light commercial warranty is defined as enviornments which do not have heavy commercial traffic, where the flooring is not exposed to a heavy commercial maintenance schedule and where the interior temperature and humidity can be controlled and maintained. If there is any question as to whether the site is determined to be light commercial, contact your local distributor. MOISTURE WARRANTY The Manufacturer warrants the laminate flooring in its orginal manufactured state to the original purchaser from the date of purchase, under normal residential use, that the surface, when properly installed, shall be resistant to damage from normal household spills resulting in discoloration or structural decomposition. The Moisture Warranty does not cover flooding, standing water, leaking pipes, household mechanical failures, appliance leaks or pet urine. RADIANT HEAT (UNDERFLOOR) INSTALLATION: We warrant to you (the original purchaser) that The Manufacturer s Laminate may be installed over water-based radiant-heated subfloors, provided the surface temperature of the system does not exceed 81 F, and the relative humidity levels are maintained between 35% and 55%. IMPORTANT: Due to the speed of sudden temperature changes, which has potential to negatively affect laminate flooring construction, it is not recommended to install this laminate with electrical radiant heating systems. This will not be covered by the manufacturer s warranty. Radiant heating system using water are acceptable. Before installating over newly constructed radiant heat systems, operate the system at maximum capacity to force any residual moisture from the cementitious topping of the radiant heat system. Then set the thermostat to a comfortable room temperature for the installation. It is recommended that the radiant heat be applied in a gradual manner after installing the laminate flooring. Refer to the radiant heat system s manufacturer recommendations for additional guidance. WHAT YOU SHOULD DO IF ANY OF THE ABOVE LISTED PROBLEMS OCCUR: The original residential and commercial purchaser should notify their authorized dealer from which the original purchase was made of any defect no later than 30 days after discovering the defect, but within the same time period of this limited warranty. The original residential purchaser must present to that authorized dealer the following items for a limited warranty claim to be considered: A valid proof of purchase in the form of sales receipt which establishes proof of purchase; A detailed description of the problem and/or a photograph/sample that clearly shows the warranty problem. 4 WHAT THE MANUFACTURER WILL DO: If The Manufacturer honors a claim under this limited warranty, it will authorize repair or replacement at the pro-rated percentage cost of the material. For the Lifetime warranty, this percentage is determined by the number of years from the date of purchase and the remaining period up to 30 years. For example, if the claim is made 12 years after the original purchase, then The Manufacturer will pay 60% (18/30th) of the material. If the claim is made 30 years or more after the purchase, The Manufacturer will provide you, the original purchaser, with a 5% discount on material only on your next purchase of this Manufacturer s laminate product. If professionally installed by a certified laminate installer, The Manufacturer will pay the reasonable labor costs to perform the replacement or repair during the first 3 year from the date of the original purchase. No labor is included for claims later than 36 months after original purchase. LIMITATIONS AND EXCLUTIONS: If the original design/color/style is no longer available, The Manufacturer reserves the right to substitute another of their design of similar structure and value from which the consumer may select. This warranty does not apply to any product or products designated or sold as B grade, cabin grades, seconds, closeouts or non-standard items. This warranty does not apply to any product or products designated or sold As Is. This limited warranty is valid only in North America, is not transferable and extends only to the original purchaser of flooring installed in the location for which was originally installed. The affected area must be visible and cover an area greater than one square inch. The flooring must be installed in accordance with The Manufacturer s recommended installation instructions. This limited warranty will not apply to damage arising from any of the following: Accidents, abuse or misuse; Extreme heat or cold; Scratching, impact or cutting; Improper workmanship or installation not in accordance with The Manufacturer s installation instructions; Improper maintenance; Improper fabrication; Freight damage; Damages by acts of God; Page 2 Water damage from excessive moisture in a concrete slab, hydrostatic pressure, flooding caused by ice makers, refrigerators, sinks, dishwashers, leaking pipes, flooding, standing water, spills when not promptly removed; household mechanical failures, damage caused by water underneath the flooring, including damage from subfloor hydrostatic pressure of other conditions that result in water being below the flooring or natural disasters; Planks coming apart at the seams because they have been engaged/disengaged more than three times; Installation cost of flooring that contains any manufacturing defect is not covered by this warranty. The Manufacturer excludes and will not pay incidental or consquential damages under this warranty. By this we mean any loss, expense, or damages other than to the flooring itself that may result from a defect in the flooring. No implied warranties extend beyond the term of this written warranty. The Manufacturer assumes no liability for incidental or consequential damages. Some states do not allow the exclusion of limitation for incidental or consequential damages. In that case, these exclusions may not apply to you. This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights that vary from state to state. The Manufacturer reserves the right to have a representative inspect the floor and remove samples for additonal evaluation if needed. The Manufacturer may repair, replace, or refinish any defective product at its sole discretion. As the sole remedy provided by this warranty, any attempt to repair, replace, or refinish prior to The Manufacturer s optional inspection will void this warranty. No installer, retailer, agent or employee of The Manufacturer has the authority to increase or alter the obligation or limitation of this warranty. Contact your flooring retailer with questions or concerns regarding your flooring purchase.

5 Revised 10/9/15 BENTLEY INSTALLATION & MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS Laminate PLEASE READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY BEFORE YOU BEGIN INSTALLATION. IMPROPER INSTALLATION WILL VOID WARRANTY. BEFORE YOU GET STARTED: Keep the boards at room temperature for at least 48 hours in unopened package before you start the installation. The room temperature must be at least 65 F before and during installation. An expansion gap (T-mold) must be inserted for any floors surfaces exceeding 1076 sf; for lengths exceeding 33ft.; and in all doorways. Inspect your subfloor before you begin. It must be clean, dry and level to within 3/16 within a 10 foot span. It is recommended to repair any loose boards or squeaks before you begin installation. With a floating floor you must always ensure you leave a 3/8 gap between walls and fixtures such as pipes, pillers, stairs, etc. *Tip: When installing around pipes, drill the holes 3/4 larger than the diameter of the pipes. Choose an underlay material. Relative Humidity Levels of your room should be maintained at % RH and a temperature of F. Decide on your installation direction. It is recommended to install the length direction of the planks parallel to the main light direction. Measure the area to be installed. The board width of the last row shall not be less than 2. If so, adjust the width of the first row to be installed. When measuring, take the free gap requirement of about 3/8 of the floor perimeter into account. In narrow hallways, install the floor parallel to the length. Inspect your laminate flooring. No claims relating to surface defects will be accepted after installation. Page 1 SUBFLOORS WITH RADIANT HEAT: IMPORTANT: Due to the speed of sudden temperature changes, which has the potential to negatively affect laminate flooring construction, it is not recommended to install over any electrical radiant heating system. Installation over electrical radiant heating systems will not be covered by the manufacturer s warranty. Below are instructions for radiant heating systems using water. Ensure the radiant heat surface temperature never exceeds 81 F. Before installing over newly constructed radiant heat systems, operate the system at maximum capacity to force any residual moisture from the cementitious topping of the radiant heat system. Then set the thermostat to a comfortable room temperature for the installation. It is recommended that the radiant heat be applied in a gradual manner after installing the laminate flooring. Refer to the radiant heat system s manufacturer recommendations for additional guidance. FLOATING INSTALLATION: Begin by first installing a foam underlay. Run the foam underlay in the same direction as the flooring planks. The underlay should be butted side-by-side with no overlap. Tape seams together. If you are installing over a concrete subfloor, a 6-mil poly (plastic sheeting) is to be installed under the foam underlay. (Many foam underlays already have this plastic sheeting pre-attached). Remember when installing your laminate floor to leave an open expansion gap of minimum 3/8 around the perimeter of the room (use wedges), i.e also at pipes, stairs, columns, doorframes and thresholds. The floor must be able to move free - do not connect or install tight to any construction part. Install to a maximum of 33ft length/ width at a time. If the room is larger, allow for an expansion gap which can be covered with the appropriate laminate T-mold. Also leave an expansion gap to separate areas in rooms that are off square (for example L-,F-, T-, U- shapes). Always leave expansion gaps in door openings.

6 IMPORTANT: For reasons both for visual enjoyment and for structural integrity of the total installation, do not install end joints closer than 15 from the end joints of the previous row (for normal 4 length laminate). For Long Planks (7½ long planks), do not install end joints closer than 24 from the end joints of the previous row. First plank, first row. Place a distance 3/8 width to the left and position the plank against the wall. Later, after 3 rows, you can easily re-position the flooring away from the front wall for the 3/8 expansion gap. Diagram 1. Second plank, first row. Place this plank tight to the short end of the first one. Diagram 2. Fold down with a single action movement. Diagram 3. At the end of the first row, leave an expansion gap of 3/8 to the wall and measure the length of the last plank to fit. Diagram 4. If cutting with a jig saw, the laminate surface should be turned down. If cutting with a hand saw, the laminate surface should be face up. Diagram 5. When installing this mixed-width product, a 5-5/8 wide plank MUST be used in every other row. This sequence must be followed throughout the entire installation. Diagram 6. Second row, First plank minimum length of 1ft 7-11/16. Leave an expansion gap of 3/8 against the wall. Generally, the minimum distance between short ends of planks in parallel rows shall not be less than 6 inches. Diagram 7. Install the second plank of the second row. Diagram 8. Place the panel tight to the short end of the previous panel and fold down in a single action movement. Diagram 9. After 2-3 rows, re-position the floor to adjust the distance to the front wall to ensure an expansion gap of 3/8. Diagram 10. Last row (and perhaps also first row). Minimum width must be at least 2. Remember to leave an expansion gap of 3/8. Diagram 11. *Tip: After cutting the final row panels lengthwise, glue the short ends. DISASSEMBLING: Separate the whole row by carefully lifting up and releasing the whole row. Fold up and release the whole long side. Diagram 12. MAINTENANCE AND CLEANING: Clean the floor regularly with a vacuum cleaner or dry mop. If necessary, the floor may be cleaned with a well wrung cloth and a synthetic detergent. Avoid using too much water. Spillages of water should be wiped off immediately. To protect the floor from sand we recommend you to use doormats at entryways (but do not use mats with a rubber backing). The ideal room humidity is 30-60% and ideal temperature is 68 F. Page 2

7 Bentley - Blended Widths How To Install Laminate Flooring After initial floor preparation has been completed and the planks are ready to lay down, follow these simple steps to install this beautiful blended-widths laminate flooring. Step One Select any size plank (3-1/2, 5-5/8, or 7-5/8 ) to begin installation of row one. Step Two Alternate the plank sizes in every row. See diagram below for example. The 5-5/8 plank MUST be used in every other row. This sequence must be followed throughout the entire installation to achieve the desired pattern. To ensure accurate installation, always read and follow complete installation instructions. NOTE: Bentley laminate is a blended-widths product. Carrera has 7.5 wide planks only.
