Hartlid Range Product Features The Hartlid range of traditional access covers & gully gratings are manufactured to BS EN124:1994, and are BSI Kitemarked for third party quality accreditation. Two main loadings are offered, Medium duty - BS EN124 Class B125 and Heavy Duty - BS EN124 Class D400. B125 Features Slide out operation for single user Ductile iron for increased durability Black coated D400 Features Double triangular non-rocking design Ductile iron for increased durability Black coated Usage: Group 2 - B125 For use in car parks, pedestrian areas & driveways. Group 4 - D400 For use in carriageways & main roads where fast traffic is present. Specification Iron access covers and gully gratings installed in the UK should meet the requirements of BS EN124:1994. This standard controls materials, minimum performance values and features of products according to their loading group. The loading groups then specify the application area for each BS EN 124 loading class. It is the responsibility of the engineer to ensure that the correct product is specified, The appropriate class of manhole top or gully top to be used depends upon the place of installation. The selection of the appropriate class is the responsibility of the designer. Where there is any doubt the stronger class should be selected. Clause 5 BS EN124 PLEASE NOTE: Hartlid products are BSI Kitemarked certificated to BSEN124:199, however they are not recoended for Highway Agency and main carriageway applications. For these more onerous applications a Highway Agency HA104/02 specification product is recoended. If any doubt exists, the HA104/02 specification product should be used. 82
