2 Lothian Residence Hall Seismic Upgrades Bid Package 4 Project Number: Contract Number: LF Addendum No. A, April 18, 2017 The following changes, additions, or deletions shall be made to the following documents as indicated for this Project; and all other terms and conditions shall remain the same. Each bidder is responsible for transmitting this information to all affected subcontractors and suppliers before the Bid Deadline. 1. INFORMATION AVAILABLE TO BIDDERS a. Replace the existing Information Available to Bidders Form with the one issued in this Addendum. 2. REQUESTS FOR CLARIFICATION / INTERPRETATION OF THE BIDDING DOCUMENTS RFI No. a. This Addendum answers the following RFI s received during the Bidding Phase. UC Rev 0, August 1, UCR Rev QUESTIONS / ANSWERS 1-1 Question: Please advise Anticipated Start Date. Is it June 20, 2017? Answer: It is anticipated that the start date on the Notice to Proceed will be mid-may,2017, however, the building will not be vacated and ready for work to begin until June 26, The time in between day 1 of NTP and June 26, 2017 is to allow the contractor time to order long lead items and turn in submittals for approval. The actual construction period is from June 26, 2017 to September 7, 2017 with substantial completion by August 28, Question: Drawing A2.10, Note #4 does not quantify or show the location of data, coaxial, and phone lines in each room. Please provide a quantity of each, and a location so that we can quantify this scope. I believe there were 2 data lines, 1 phone line (split between two jacks), and 1 coaxial line per room. Answer: Bidders should allow for (2) data lines, 1 phone line (split between two jacks), and 1 coaxial line per room. 1-3 Question: Drawing A2.10, Note #4 on Sheet A2.10 does not make reference to the existing wire mold raceways within the dorm rooms, are we to remove and reinstall the existing or provide new. If new are to be provided, please provide a specification or product information so that we may price this work. Answer: Remove and reinstall. 1-4 Question: Drawing A4.03 It appears that in order to install the new shower stalls that some of the existing fire sprinkler heads will need to relocate in each restroom. Please confirm that we should include this in our scope of work. For bidding purposes should we assume 2 heads per restroom? Answer: Include work to relocate existing sprinkler heads from inside expanded shower stall to the outside of shower stalls. 1-5 Question: When removing one layer of drywall, and then installing new shear paneling and drywall on walls, the existing wall will become thicker. With that being said any existing outlet on these walls will now need be furred out to meet the new wall elevation. Please provide a quantity of these existing outlets, so that we may price this work. (there were roughly 60 per floor last year.) Answer: For the purposes of bidding, assume 60 per floor to be retrofitted.

3 Lothian Residence Hall Seismic Upgrades Bid Package 4 Project Number: Contract Number: LF Addendum No. A, April 18, Question: The existing dorm rooms have surface mounted mirrors, Surface Mounted lights, closet doors, and closet door tracks that will need to be removed in order to perform the structural work. However none of this work is shown on the drawings. Please clarify what should be done with these items. Answer: Student rooms with existing surface mounted items such as lights and mirrors to be removed, saved and reinstalled. Closet doors, door tracks and miscellaneous related hardware to be reinstalled as well after doors are refinished. Mirrors are to be removed (assume ACM mastic) and new provided. Provide 24 x 36 standard mirrors with metal frames at each room (1 per room) 1-7 Question: Should anything in this building be assumed to contained asbestos or lead? Does UCR have an asbestos and lead survey report for this building, if so can this please be distributed to all bidders? Answer: The building has asbestos report available to the bidders for previous wings. All the ACM in the building is limited to the mirror mastic hockey-pucks and is less than 100 square feet. 1-8 Question: Drawing A2.20, The drawings show the corridor ceilings as existing. In order to install shear paneling all the way up from floor to deck, along with the installation of the new light fixture, the ceiling should be replaced in its entirety. Answer: Correct remove and reinstall all drywall and ceiling framing as required. 1-9 Question: Drawing A2.20, Inside the dorm walls there are existing switches and thermostats at sheer wall locations? Do those need to be removed and reinstalled? Answer: Remove, save, and reinstall existing switches and thermostats to original locations Question: Drawing A2.20, The wiremold 4000 specified on sheet A2.20 needs to be doubled to hold the capacity of wires they now have, the previous years they used a dual channel Panduit instead Answer: Match with what was installed in previous years - Panduit PanwayTwin Question: Drawing A2.10, Are new FEC required? If so what is the model number, and locations? Answer: Provide cost and installation for three Fire Extinguisher Cabinets (FEC) and fire extinguishers per floor. FEC to be able to fit Amerex B500, 5lb multi-purpose dry chemical type. UCR will provide FEC and Extinguishers. END OF ADDENDUM UC Rev 0, August 1, UCR Rev

The information is provided subject to the provisions of Article 3 of the General Conditions. 1. The University of California has contracts for materials, equipment and/or services with the suppliers listed on the Office of the President Procurement Services website at General Contractors or others submitting bids for University construction projects may enter into agreements with these suppliers that utilize the pricing and terms contained in the Universitysupplier agreements. The university does not represent or warrant that materials/equipment/services of these suppliers meet the requirements of the University s construction contracts. Use of such suppliers shall not relieve Contractor from its obligation to meet all contractual requirements in any contracts with the University.
