2 Introduction & Contents Truss UK Ltd is a company born from experience, our products are designed with the user in mind, and whether we are producing a bespoke stage piece or our range of every day trusses, the design always starts with functionality and economy in mind. All of our designers and fabricators have field experience in the entertainment industry and we actively encourage their use of this experience when designing a product so that it is practical to use and equally importantly to manufacture. All Truss UK trussing products are designed in accordance with the very latest European code for aluminium structures, namely BS EN for the design of aluminium structures. Our fabricators are all coded to the EN ISO welding code for the fusion welding of aluminium alloys. Our truss range is designed and manufactured in our works in the North West of the United Kingdom. We offer a full range of trussing and rigging products to suit the Theatre, Corporate, Retail and Touring market sectors and we welcome every opportunity to assist our clients in the correct choice of standard products as well as offering a full design, engineering and structural packages for bespoke projects. 3 TT - Medium Duty Compact Truss TT (Tower Truss) Range The TT series is a Medium Duty Compact Tower Truss that has been designed for use as a horizontal beam truss with fully hinged spigots that can be used in either orientation (horizontal or vertical spigots), without affecting the loading characteristics. Additionally the TT truss is designed for use as a tower, and so is a single section of genuine multipurpose truss making it ideal for rental and production companies alike. The TT truss has been designed and certified for use as a tower or as a beam truss, with the end connection designed so the truss can articulate to allow the creation of horizontal and vertical shapes with the spigots vertical or horizontal without a reduction in overall strength of the components, enabling the creation of intricate shapes or arches and circles using straight and standard lengths of truss. The TT range of truss is unique in the fact that it can be used any way round in almost any configuration, with the design of this product in accordance with the European code for aluminium structures, namely BS EN The TT product is one of the most versatile trussing systems you would ever buy, therefore probably the only trussing system you will ever have to buy; offering the strength of medium duty truss in a compact configuration. 4 ULC TT - Universal Load Corner Exclusively, the TT series offers the universal load corner (ULC-TT), which is a structurally rated and certified six (6) way corner complete with a suspension and load point for up to 2,500kgs. The compact design enables the unit to be individually flown from a chain hoist, winch or other piece of stage machinery or used on the top of a TT ground support tower. The ULC-TT allows for basic truss grids to be suspended directly from the corners, which is the most efficient position for truss grids, eliminating any cantilever loading on the truss structure. Uniquely the ULC-TT incorporates certified and load rated points for lifting and suspension. 5 TT - Truss Components The TT series of truss has been designed to provide a comprehensive modular system for standard trussing, tower and roof systems with a single product. As you would expect Truss UK Ltd have an extensive catalogue of bases, corners and tower accessories available. The TT Tower base and head block have been designed for easy transportation and can fold away into one compact piece that is easy to manoeuvre into a venue or pack into a truck as a single component. The use of the simple corner bar allows for more conventional smaller truss lighting grids to be formed simply and easily. 9 GSLS - Tower Lifter The Ground Support Lifting System (GSLS Tower Lifter) is offered exclusively in the UK and Ireland by Truss UK Ltd. In total agreement and support of our sister company s motto of Safety Above All Truss UK thoroughly recommend this system above all other tower lifting devices and methods used up until now. Conventional lifting of a tower has meant stopping most of the crew from their other duties whilst the tower is walked into position. Not the most economical, safest or easiest of operations especially in a rain soaked field with wet and muddy hands and footwear with lowering of the tower an even more precarious task when everything has to be completed as quickly as possible and normally at the end of a long shift. The GSLS Tower Lifter is quicker and safer than the accepted tower lifters that use the chain hoist to power the erection of towers. Normally these lifters are large and bulky, still require quite a few crew to install and operate the lifter and raise the tower at the speed of the chain hoist. The GSLS can be installed and operated by two people and can raise, and probably more importantly lower a 15m tower safely in less than five minutes. Models available GSLS 9 / 40 / 50 / 76 GSLS 9 for 30cm or 40cm towers up to a maximum height of 12m (30cm) or 10m (40cm). GSLS 40 for 30cm / 40cm towers up to a maximum height of 15m. GSLS 50 for 52cm towers up to a maximum height of 20m. GSLS 76 for 76cm square towers up to a maximum height of 20m. Works with ALL major brands of ground support tower systems. GS and TUV certified and CE marked in accordance with Directive 98/37/CE. Also certified to AIMME (Spanish Metal Mechanics Institute). Uses the same power supply as the tower hoist. Fitted with emergency hand pump for handling towers if power supply fails. Fitted with safety valve which allows tower to be left safely inclined should there be a power or hydraulic failure.
