1 SECTION ( ) JL Fire Vents - Guide Submittal / Specifications PART 1: GENERAL 1.01 RELATED DOCUMENTS A. Conditions of the Contract and portions of Division One of this Project Manual apply to this Section as though repeated herein SUMMARY Select one or more of the following subparagraphs as required by the Project. A. Section Includes: 1. FM Approved/UL Listed Double Leaf Fire Vent. 2. FM Approved Double Leaf Domed Fire Vent. 3. Gravity Ventilator Curb Mounted Fire Vent. 4. Domed Fire Vent SUBMITTALS A. Product Data: For each type of fire vent indicated. Include manufacturer's model number and accessories and requirements for roughing-in dimensions DELIVERY, STORAGE AND HANDLING A. Packing, Shipping, Handling and Unloading: Deliver fire vent as a factory assembled unit in manufacturer s original packaging. B. Store materials in a dry, protected, well-vented area. The contractor shall thoroughly inspect product upon receipt and report damaged material immediately to delivering carrier and note such damage on the carrier s freight bill of lading. The first option for each model size is fabricated from aluminum, the second option for each model size is fabricated from galvanized steel. 1. PART 3: EXECUTION 3.01 EXAMINATION A. Examine areas and conditions affecting installation. Do not proceed with installation until unsatisfactory conditions have b 3.02 INSTALLATION A. Install system level and plumb, and in accord with manufacturer s written instructions, original design and referenced standards ADJUSTING A. Adjust for proper operation. Replace any parts that prevent the fire vent from operating properly CLEANING A. Remove all debris caused by installation of the fire vent. Clean all exposed surfaces to as fabricated condition and appearance PROTECTION A. Provide protection of the completed installation until completion of the project. Repair any damage at no additional cost SCHEDULES If more than one type of fire vent is required, provide a schedule similar to the following example below.
