Product Description Basic Use Panda Windows and Doors manufactures high quality, durable and sustainable custom large opening solutions. Panda s Lift & Slide Door Systems provide minimal site-line interference and allow oversized glass panels to roll smoothly and operate easily. They also expand interior spaces while creating seamless transitions to the outdoors. This specially engineered sliding door system incorporates a European inspired design and superior hardware set. It utilizes specialized rollers designed to raise and lower each panel for maximum protection against the elements. The panels use their own weight to compress the seals thus creating a completely weather-tight wall system when in the lowered position. When in the raised position, even the largest panels roll effortlessly on the tracks. There is a Panda Lift & Slide Door System to suit every application, providing the design freedom to achieve the exact sliding opening desired, without compromising style or utility. Aluminum/Wood Clad (S.11) Featuring an aluminum exterior with a wood interior, this system provides the protection of aluminum and the elegance of wood. Internally, only the soft lines, warmth and ambiance of the wood are visible, retaining that homey feel. The aluminum surface is extremely durable and able to withstand all weather conditions. Aluminum/Wood Clad Thermally Broken (TS.13) This model is exceptionally well insulated to ensure cozy comfort and greater energy efficiency. The wood interior available in several species guarantees warmth, elegance and beauty and adds an extra layer of insulation. The thermally isolated aluminum frames make it strong and resistant to the harshest elements and do not require constant finish maintenance. All Aluminum IMPACT (IS.14) The IS.14 provides all the weather protection needed to endure large missile and hurricane impact without compromising design, imagination and aesthetics and stands up to coastal pressures such as corrosion, humidity and salt. The polyamide thermal break profiles are specifically designed to minimize heat transfer across the door profiles. All Aluminum Slim Profile (S.85) When projects call for a more contemporary look and feel, the S.85 Lift & Slide system features narrow sight lines. Lighter than the S.10 Lift & Slide, the S.85 is similar in style and function, but it has larger stainless steel wheels, larger profiles and a heavy-duty multi-point locking system that allows for larger panel sizes. Thermally Broken Slim Profile (TS.87) The TS.87 system is characterized by very narrow visible sightlines, yet is extremely sturdy and long-lasting. The thermal break design offers energy efficiency in the most demanding climates. Composition & Materials Panda signature door panels feature narrow 6063-T5 extruded aluminum profiles with mitered corners attached with aluminum corner gussets. Thermally efficient models are thermally broken by a 1 inch (18 mm) polyamide strip for the TS.19 and TS.13 models and 1.4 inch (35 mm) for the TS.87 system Wood cladding is attached with polyamide clips to create a thermal barrier and limit heat transfer Glazing Clear low-e tempered-insulated 1 inch glass is the standard for all the models, except for the TS.87 and S.85 Lift & Slide systems, which use glass of inch (35 mm) thickness Glazing options between inch (6 48 mm) thick may be used for improved thermal transmittance, impact resistance, privacy and safety protection. Hardware Wheel Carriage The top of each door has its own solid aluminum wheel carriage with four wheels that run on a recessed track. The wheel carriage is composed of synthetic nylon covered wheels that spin around on its own set of lubricated and corrosion resistant ball bearings and double sliding rollers. 2

3 Recessed drainage track This assembly is designed to withstand an ultimate load of 550 pounds (250 kg) per wheel carriage and operate with the slightest push of a finger. The result is a Lift & Slide panel system that rolls freely, smoothly and quietly. Gasketing System Double V EPDM glazing gaskets wrap around the entire Lift & Slide door system to create a weather tight seal when in the down position. Locking Hardware A concealed multi-point lock system engages the jamb side for increased security and ease of operation. The locking system engages the jamb simultaneously as the handle rotates 180 degrees lowering the panels to the down position. Handles A wide variety of contemporary door handles including recess and GU temporary handles are offered, with handle and lock set with profile cylinder. Installation Preparing the opening 1. Verify that site conditions are acceptable for installation. 4

With an installer present, examine flooring, structural support and openings for compliance with installation requirements and other conditions affecting the performance of Lift & Slide doors. 3. Verify rough opening conditions are within recommended tolerances and exterior opening is properly flashed and waterproofed. 4. Proceed with installation only after unsatisfactory conditions have been corrected. Install folding doors and accessories only after other finishing operations, including painting, are complete. Methods The design drawings must include the opening requirements for the Lift & Slide door system. Important: getting the dimensions correct, including rough opening size, is critical when installing a large opening folding door. 1. Install Lift & Slide doors in accordance with manufacturer s installation guidelines and recommendations. 2. Ensure doors are leveled, plumb, square, true to line, without distortion or impeding thermal movement, anchored securely in place to structural support and in proper relation to wall flashing and other adjacent construction to produce weather tight construction. 3. Install Lift & Slide doors and components to drain condensation, water penetrating joints and moisture migrating within doors to the exterior. Protection 1. Upon completing the installation, clean the panels to remove dust, dirt, adhesives and other foreign materials per the manufacturer s written instructions. 2. Remove and replace glass that has been broken, chipped, cracked, abraded or damaged during construction period. 3. Lubricate all hardware and other moving parts. 4. Wood clad doors have not been sealed and therefore must be sealed immediately upon receipt. 5. Sealing the interior cladding of the doors with equal coats of finish on all sides and edges within one week from delivery is necessary to minimize moisture absorption. 6. Provide final protection and maintain conditions in a manner to ensure that the door panels are without damage or deterioration at time of substantial completion.
