10 STRUCTURAL CONSIDERATIONS 10 PHASE I Feasibility Study Review of existing drawings & visual observation Findings/Recommendations February 2016: Evidence of building settlement Recommended crack monitoring of the music room wall Recommended repair/replacement of the music room slab Further investigation as design progresses PHASE II Additional Investigation Preliminary Update Enhanced building inspection Installed crack monitors monitoring current through October 2017 Scheduled geotechnical testing near music classroom and new elevators Findings/Recommendations July 2016: No evidence of any portion of the building moving towards the pond Needed results from geotechnical testing for final analysis PHASE III Additional Investigation Continued enhanced building and site inspection Performed geotechnical testing (borings and test pits) Findings/Recommendations August 2016: Proposed the installation of structural piles under the music wall and slab Reported all structural concerns are correctable and will be rectified in the renovation. PHASE IV Construction Documents 2017 Include repairs of settlement issues, crack locations, and bowing wall.
