3 Sustainable building makes sense Certifications: wood from sustainable forests The Chain of Custody certifies the journey of the raw materials from the forest to the consumer/customer, including all stages of the process, i.e. it guarantees the customer that the products are manufactured with materials that are sourced from sustainably managed forests. 14 Superpan Tech Recommendations ENVIRONMENTAL ADAPTATION Wherever possible, the Superpan should be in the working area for at least 48 hours before application in order to adapt to the environmental temperature/humidity conditions. PAINT For the board applied without coating, to seal the surface, epoxy or resin based paints must be used. Thanks to its high performance, technical flooring can benefit from a reduction in the thickness of the support used without undermining performance. This allows for significant cost savings. Access flooring Superpan Tech is used for manufacturing access flooring tiles for access floors. Its phenolic film coating provides additional moisture resistance and a smooth surface for a perfect quality finish. 31 CONSTRUCTION Technical recommendations Store the Superpan P5 Encoform boards on a flat surface, in a secure dry area. Coated boards are very slippery: move these with care The proper fastening and assembly with reinforcement bars on the back of the Superpan P5 Encoform boards are essential for preventing significant deflections. Avoid direct contact of water with the edges before, during and after use. It is recommended to use a suitable formwork removal agent for quick and simple demoulding. Superpan P5 Encoform must not be used in service class 3 in a permanent installation. We recommend sealing edges and cut edges to improve their resistance to moisture. 31

FASTENING Superpan P4 and P6 is appropriate for service class 1 for building materials (relative humidity in the air greater than 65% during some weeks of the year). The P5 board is applied in service class 2 (relative humidity in the air greater than 85% during some weeks of the year). 32 Superpan

These are predimensioning loads that do not free the responsible technical person on site from checking the conformity of sizing to the project or to the work by appropriate regulatory calculations. The loads shown in the tables already include magnification of actions in the calculation model. The sizing of evenly distributed loads must be supplemented with what was obtained against concentrated loads that may be more critical in some cases. The calculations were performed using the CTE DB SE-M methodology. These are predimensioning loads that do not free the responsible technical person on site from checking the conformity of sizing to the project or to the work by appropriate regulatory calculations. The loads shown in the tables already include magnification of actions in the calculation model. The sizing of evenly distributed loads must be supplemented with what was obtained against concentrated loads that may be more critical in some cases. The Superpan Tech behaviour under various loading conditions was certified by AITIM, in May 2012, based on laboratory tests carried out in the joint unit INIA-AITIM and Plataforma de Enxeñería da Madeira Estructural PEMADE, University of Santiago de Compostela. 39

42 General recommendations Transport, storage and handling recommendations. Superpan must be transported and stored with care, in compact piles and resting on an appropriate flat base. Verify that the runners are placed in the same position and are aligned to avoid deformation of the board. We recommend that you keep Superpan in its original packaging, in a dry place, protected from contact with the ground, walls and moisture. The boards must always be stored under cover and on a flat surface. The optimal storage conditions are of 65% humidity, avoiding dryer or damp environments. In no event should it be in direct contact with water. The blocks should always be vertically aligned. It is recommended not to stack them more than 4 high.
