The cementitious structural components of the mine are therefore required to be high yield, fast acting and to a quality and safety standard that ensures the safety of those working in the challenging conditions of a deep mine. Project Name: Pozament Mining Solutions Location: UK-wide Overview: Since the early 1970s Tarmac Building Products (TBP) has supplied a wide range of cementitious products to the mining industry. The past 40 years has seen the landscape of British mining change dramatically, however Pozament mining solutions continue to be supplied to leading deep mine collieries such as UK Coal s three operational mines and independent collieries at Maltby and Hatfield. In meeting these challenges Pozament has developed solutions for its clients needs that deliver cost effective results in numerous ways; materials that offer ultra high-strength, high pumpability, long pipe-life, rapid gel and curing times as well as rapid strength gain. All products are available in palletised or 20kg bags, with the high volume products also available in intermediate bulk containers or bulk powder tankers. Crucially, there has never been a reported failure of one of the Pozament mining products and in an environment where health and safety is paramount, this is something in which Tarmac Building Products takes great pride. The science In meeting our clients needs a comprehensive range of cementitious mining products has been created including single bagged stopping and packing materials offering consistent quality, easier storage and handling; Astrablend and Minemaster S. Astrablend is a packing material that provides a very high yield value while also achieving early strength. Minemaster S is a highly versatile product that can be applied in packing, stoppings, air seals, back filling and ribside sealing. Both products offer reduced material and transport costs. Astrapak is a premium packing and stopping product that offers operational efficiencies and savings during application. Its dual compound system that only starts to gel at the point of application means that it can be pumped for distances up to 3km while remaining live in the pumping system for up to 3 days. With modern mining techniques replacing the use of steel work in strata reinforcement, the need for a high strength bolting grout becomes ever more prevalent. Pozament has developed two high performance bolt grouts. CBG is specifically formulated to form a strong bond with coal and shale strata while HPRG-CBG is designed to provide optimum bond with a rock substrate. Strataseal, is our spontaneous combustion control product where a fast acting solution is required. With an ultra rapid gel time and high expansion properties, hot-zones can be efficiently and effectively dammed.
