4 Our company Benarx Solutions designs, produces and deliver high-tech insulation products for the global Oil&Gas industry. The Benarx product series is a range of industrialized insulation solutions that meets criteria for passive fire protection, thermal and acoustic insulation both standalone and combinations. The product range offers unique properties with regard to fire technology, thermodynamics, acoustics and CUI optimization. The Benarx Solutions prefabricated insulation products offer the lowest life cycle cost (LCC) and save valuable space and time during installation. They provide unique design properties to simplify logistics and improve HSE performance. The Benarx product series insulation products have a life span that far exceeds the traditional solutions. 4

5 The extensive and continuous research and product development is done in close co-operation with key clients and suppliers as well as institutions such as SINTEF, DNV, the National Institute of Technology, research institutions, GexCon and Lloyds (type approval). The solutions have been thoroughly tested and approved to a vast range of relevant specifications/standards. Benarx product series has been established as best practice on the Norwegian Continental Shelf (NCS). Corrosion under insulation (CUI) is one of the biggest challenges for the international oil and gas industry. Strict criteria for effective and lasting maintenance solutions will help significantly reduce these challenges. Ninety-five of all installations (60%) on the NCS will be more than 20 years old by Current, conventional maintenance systems and technologies are not optimal for the tests facing the industry. 6 Catalogue icons Fire Insulation Passive Fire Protection is today an essential part of all Oil&Gas installations. The constant presence of highly flammable fluids and explosive gasses, in confided spaces and locations where people have limited escape routes, poses a significant risk in the Industry. Every measure is taken to reduce the risk to a minimum, but unfortunately as have been seen in some disastrous examples, accidents do occur. This is where Passive Fire Protection (PFP) plays an important role. If an oil or gas spill accident has occurred and ignited, it s essential that the integrity of load bearing structures and pipes carrying hydrocarbons or fire fighting fluids, are protected as long as possible. Thermal Insulation The Petrochemical industry must handle a wide range of temperatures, from super-heated steam to cryogenic Liquid Natural Gas. Thermal insulation plays an important role in preserving the temperature of the media, reducing the energy loss or avoiding condensation and external ice formation on cold media. 6

7 Acoustic Insulation Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) is an important factor in todays work environment. The Oil&Gas industry has some challenging factors to consider. The installations offshore are in a confined and limited space, the processes are often very noisy due to high pressure in pipes and heavy machinery being operated. The working regulation in noisy environment limits how long personnel can work in the area, depending on the noise level. This could result in inefficient work processes as the amount of available personnel offshore is limited due to high cost, limited bed and heli-transport capacity. Reducing the noise levels with insulation are therefore often a necessity and increases cost efficiency as workers can stay longer in areas where noise level is reduced. CUI Detection Corrosion Under Insulation (CUI) is a major risk factor in Oil&Gas producing facilities. The integrity of pipelines and process equipment carrying hydrocarbons under pressure is essential and a potential leak or breakage can have catastrophic results. 7

In addition to the fire protection, it also has thermal properties which makes it suitable for a wide range of insulation classes. The lightweight and prefabricated construction makes it very installation friendly and reduces installation time significantly compared to traditional insulation solutions. The insulation system is designed as a fully weather protective solution for the underlying pipe. If any water should penetrate the weather proofing barrier due to a defect, it is also designed to drain water away to prevent corrosion under insulation (CUI). 14 Benarx Flexiroll XP Benarx Flexioll XP is a passive fire protection product developed for various applications. The thin prefabricated solution is developed to be timesaving during installation and to be used in confined areas. It is designed to easily be cut-out and are delivered in stacked rolls with standard size of 0,6 x 3 m. It is fastened with high quality stainless steel bands and can be installed in any weather conditions. The product is a reinforced fibre mat covered in intumescent epoxy material. On the outside, it can be covered with a flexible topcoat to withstand weather exposure. Benarx Flexiroll XP withstands the toughest jet fire scenarios demanded. 15 Benarx Preformed End Cap Gasket The end termination of pipe insulation is a critical point of water proofing the pipe insulation material. Preparing end termination of traditional metal cladding may be challenging to achieve with water ingress as a result. Water under the insulation and potential damages to pipe coating due to sharp metal edges is a major risk factor resulting in development of CUI. Benarx Preformed End Cap Gasket reduces installation time significantly compared to traditional steel end cap solutions. The product is preformed to the pipe dimensions and insulation thickness and is therefore easy to install and does not require modifications to fit. Benarx Solutions equipment protection ranges over flange, valve, actuator, crane pedestal and pipe support to cable tray, vessel, tank and steel frame structures. The products are compatible with our range of pipe insulation products and can be delivered as a total system or as a standalone product. Benarx Epoxy Cable Tray is a durable passive fire protection designed specifically for cable trays. It is prefabricated and consists of two L-shaped panels covering the cable tray and are fastened with stainless steel straps. The solution is made to be easily opened for access to the cables and then reassembled. In a potential fire, the product forms an insulating char when exposed to heat. This mechanism in combination with the Benarx design, protects the cabling from high temperatures, explosion and fires. 23 Benarx accessories are products developed to be used on both piping and equipment products. The properties of the accessories enhance the CUI properties of Benarx products. CUI enhancement is achieved through water drainage or through detection of water for corrective measures to be implemented on an early stage. The two products can be delivered as a standalone product or in a combination where drainage and detection is achieved at once. Sound reduction plays an important part in creating a safe and efficient sound reduced area for workers. The product can be used to isolate certain areas on a temporary or permanent basis and are easy scalable through its module based design. The ultra-high strength of the aramid fibers ensures maximum durability and lifetime. 23
