These extremely functional, elegant and reliable exterior doors meet today s Commercial and Hi-Rise Condominium Developers requirements with the highest level of quality. NOTE: Meets all Miami-Dade County, Florida, air, water, structural and impact requirements. PART I GENERAL 1.1 SUMMARY A. Related Documents: Conditions of the Contract, Division 1 - General Requirements, and Drawings apply to Work of this Section. B. Section Includes: 1. The BAL-350 Balcony/Terrace Door, a high performance door for use in condominiums, lofts, hotels, and apartments, and is intended to be installed in punched openings or as a liner frame within other framing or curtain wall systems as specified in the drawings. 1.2 RELATED SECTIONS A. 2 Page 2 of 6 1. Submit manufacturer's descriptive literature and product specifications. 2. Include information for factory finishes, hardware, accessories and other required components. 3. Include color charts for finish indicating manufacturer's standard colors available for selection. C. Shop Drawings: 1. Submit shop drawings covering fabrication, installation and finish of specified systems. 2. Include following: a. Fully dimensioned plans and elevations with detail coordination keys. b. Locations of exposed fasteners and joints. 3. Provide detailed drawings of: a. Composite members. b. Joint connections for framing systems and for entrance doors. c. Anchorage. d. System reinforcements. e. Expansion and contraction provisions. f. Hardware, including locations, mounting heights, reinforcements and special installation provisions. g. Glazing methods and accessories. h. Internal sealant requirements as recommended by sealant manufacturer. 4. Schedule of finishes. D. Samples: 1. Submit samples indicating quality of finish, in required colors, on alloys used for work, in sizes as standard with manufacturer. 2. Where normal texture or color variations are expected, include additional samples illustrating range of variation. E. Test Reports: 1. Standard Systems: Submit certified copies of previous test reports substantiating performance of system in lieu of re-testing. Include other supportive data as necessary. 2. Submit manufacturer's certification stating that systems are in compliance with specified requirements. G. Qualification Data: 1. Submit installer qualifications verifying years of experience. 2. Manufacturer's Instructions: Submit manufacturer's printed installation instructions.

The manufacturer must have been regularly engaged in the manufacture and installation of entrance doors for a period of no less than ten (10) years. B. Single Source Responsibility: 1. To ensure quality of appearance and performance, obtain materials for each system from either a single manufacturer or from manufacturer approved by each system manufacturer. 1.6 DELIVERY, STORAGE AND HANDLING A. Comply with requirements of Section B. Protect finished surfaces as necessary to prevent damage. C. Do not use adhesive papers or sprayed coatings that become firmly bonded when exposed to sun. D. Do not leave coating residue on any surfaces. E. Replace damaged units. 1.7 WARRANTY A. Provide warranties in accordance with Section B. One-year standard manufacturer s warranty Five-year warranty on Kynar finish Five-year glass manufacturer s warranty on laminated glass C. This warranty is not intended to cover adjustments made necessary by the shifting or settling of the building structure.

Aluminum frame sections should be extruded aluminum AA 6063 T6 alloy 2. Glazing materials shall be custom EPDM spacer by Tremco, Dow Corning #995 structural silicone and EPDM wedge by Tremco. B. Fasteners: Steel or Stainless Steel Anchors C. Standard Features: 1. Heavy commercial class grade, 3-3/4 (95.3 mm) wide, 2 (50.8 mm) deep door rails and stiles /16 (112.7 mm) Top Rail and 8 (203 mm) Bottom Rail. 3. Heavy-duty internal corner clips x 5 (25.4 x 127 mm) or 1-3/4 x 5 (44.4 x 127 mm) Door Frame, with nominal wall thickness 5. Double rows of weather seals 6. Stainless steel 4-point locking system including latch lock, deadbolt lock with shoot-bolts top and bottom. 7. Solid brass lever handle. D. Optional Features: 1. Concealed overhead door closer. 2. Standard aluminum finishes: 1. Polycron 500 polyester (white) 2. Bronze anodized 3. Clear anodized 4. Kynar 500 (special order) 2.5 FABRICATION A. Fabricate components in accordance with approved shop drawings. Shop fabricate to greatest extent practicable to minimize field cutting, splicing and fastening. Remove burrs from cut edges. B. Fabricate system as indicated on approved shop drawings. Any welding shall be in accordance with AWS standards, performed by qualified welders. Do not distort members or deface exposed finish. Grind exposed welds smooth.

6 Page 6 of 6 C. Factory preparation per manufacturer templates for finish hardware. Mortise and reinforce frames and door stiles and rails to receive finish hardware in accordance with approved shop drawings D. Prior to leaving factory, all doors and frames shall be assembled and hung. All necessary adjustments shall be made to provide proper perimeter clearance between door and frame and all coordination between door, frame and finish hardware shall be tested. PART 3 EXECUTION 3.1 INSPECTION A. Openings shall conform to details and dimensions shown on the approved shop drawings. B. The Contractor prior to installation must correct conditions that may adversely affect the door installation. 3.2 INSTALLATION A. All materials shall be installed by factory trained erectors in strict accordance with installation data provided by factory and these specifications. B. All doors shall be adjusted after glazing contractor completes his work and install doors in strict accordance with the approved shop drawings and all local, state and national laws and building codes. C. Set doors plumb, level and true to line without warp or crack of frames. D. Anchor doors securely to surrounding construction with approved fasteners E. The exterior joints between the frames, trims and mullions shall be properly sealed watertight with an approved sealant and be neatly pointed. F. Any abraded surface of the door and frame finish shall be cleaned and touched up with air dry paint furnished by the door manufacturer in a color to match the factory applied finish. 3.3 CLEANING A. The General Contractor shall be responsible for protecting the doors, frames and related materials during storage on the job and during and after installation. B. Installer shall leave the doors and frames surfaces clean after installation, exercising care to avoid damage to protective coatings and finishes. C. Any protection necessary due to the cleaning of materials adjacent to the doors and frames shall be the responsibility of the General Contractor. END OF SECTION
