1 For Immediate Release 25, September,2017 Yardmen Arena Expansion & Renovation Project Update BELLEVILLE ON With 33 days until puck drop of the home opening game of the American Hockey League s Belleville Senators Hockey Club on November 1, 2017, the City of Belleville, Ball Construction, Architecture 49 and WSP Engineering are working very hard to have the $20.5M Yardmen Arena Expansion and Renovation Project substantially complete and ready for hockey. We are very pleased to report that as of Friday September 22, 2017 the City s Yardmen Arena Expansion and Renovation project is on time and on budget, says Mark Fluhrer, Project Director. Mark says that the next 33 days will be hectic as that is when all the final touches are completed and the final picture unfolds. Many local trades persons and labour are being hired by the various sub-contractors and Ball Construction for this project. Many local suppliers and companies are working on and/or supplying goods and services to this project as subs to the subs or to Ball themselves, says Peter Lyng, Project Manager and the City s Facilities Manager. Peter reports that the number of workers on site is over 110 per day on average, with over 17 trades on site. The Construction Managers, Architects and Engineers are working extra hours in order to keep on track. There are many contractors and their employees that have worked the past many weekends, with many of the trades working 7days/week until completion. For additional information, see the attached Yardmen Arena Expansion & Renovation Project Update as of September 22, Stay up to date with the Yardmen Arena Expansion & Renovation Project by visiting For more information: CITY OF BELLEVILLE Mark Fluhrer Director (613) cell mfluhrer@city.belleville.on.ca
