39 Digicon / IBC National BIM Survey: Any Other Comments about BIM

40 Digicon / IBC National BIM Survey: Any Other Comments about BIM Currently BIM is not a requirement from our clients, but [we are] preparing for the future. BIM is currently suitable for a minority of projects The software is getting better, but it still takes more time to model elements then to draw 2D representations of them... BIM is the future, and I am Pro-BIM. The path to that future is difficult. I look forward to better linking of Models and Specifications. BIM is a new technology... It's very expensive to learn and takes time to become efficient Transitioning to BIM processes has been challenging due to inconsistent implementation standards and processes... The industry needs to standardize. A comprehensive BIM process cannot be undertaken successfully at this time within traditional Design-bid-build relationships. This will keep BIM in a niche market for the foreseeable future. BIM is here to stay. Unfortunately the construction industry does not completely understand the design process and many things are being lost with the switch over to a BIM system. BIM is a myth created by AutoDesk to increase revenue. We are concerned about the liabilities associated with others using our BIM model
