7 MACARTHUR CAUSEWAY BRIDGE WIDENING Interior Widening for additional traffic lanes to tunnel continue Work on Piers 16, 17, 18 & 19 as well as demo of site establishment Pier Construction (10 segments cut into existing walls to splice reinforcement with #11 rebar for erection of the piers

8 TUNNEL BORING MACHINE EB & WB BREAK-IN, BREAKOUT & TUNNEL Mining of the Eastbound Tunnel began on November 11, 2011 and was completed on July 31, 2012 (751 Rings & 4,186 LF) Mining of the Westbound Mining began October 29, 2012 and was completed on May 6, 2013 (745 Rings & 4,152 LF)

11 Tunneling Profile Section & Cross Passages Tunnels are approximately 4200 ft. long +40 ft. under the bottom of Government Cut & approximately 120 ft. below the surface at deepest point 5% Grade 5 cross passages

12 CROSS PASSAGES CONSTRUCTION CROSS PASSAGE LENGTHS CP1 15 ft. CP2 36 ft. CP ft. CP4 43 ft. CP ft. Five cross passages, or emergency exits, are being built between the two tunnels. Cross passages are approximately 700 feet Cross passages 1, 4 and 5 are not underneath the channel and were pretreated from ground surface using cutter-soil mixing panels that form a grouted block of soil and were excavated. Cross passages 2 and 3, which go underneath Biscayne Bay, were treated with a brine to freeze the ground and excavated.

13 CROSS PASSAGES GROUND FREEZING PROCESS 44 freezing pipes were installed Estimated freeze time once brine installed at -22 F was 40 days. A small cooling unit was installed in the second tunnel to cool the lining segments and ensure efficient closing of ice ring. Steel support frame was installed to prevent movements of the first tunnel due to ice pressures. Steel door was installed as fail safe to be closed in case of an emergency during excavation.

16 CONCEPTUAL INTERIOR VIEW OF TUNNEL Aluminum Architectural Panels will be installed as final finish Installation of internal structures and Mechanical- Electrical-Plumbing-Fire (MEPF) continue to be installed in both tunnels including fire main piping, electrical conduits and cabling, junction boxes and ITS equipment.

19 WATSON & DODGE ISLANDS PORTAL DESIGN Tunnel Portal construction continues and will house the Flood Gates which come down in the event of a storm to prevent flooding of tunnels

20 WATSON & DODGE ISLAND SUPPORT BUILDINGS CONSTRUCTION Both buildings structural elements are complete Mechanical, Electrical & Plumbing (MEP) as well as finishes for buildings continue to be installed Installation of building ventilation, sprinkler system and electrical (switchboards & cabling), as well as fire alarms are under works

22 Dodge Island Roadway Improvements EB & WB Port Boulevard was shifted to Final Condition South Cruise Boulevard was completed New Truck Bridge was partially open to one lane Construction continues on internal roadways

23 PROJECT SCHEDULE July 31, 2012 Completion of eastbound tunnel May 6, 2013 Completion of westbound tunnel Spring 2014 Completion of Dodge Island roadway improvements May 19, 2014 Substantial Completion - Port of Miami Tunnel opens to traffic, O&M Period begins August 18, 2014 Final Completion As of 2/12/14 - Construction Days to Date: 1552 of 1765 (55 months) = 87.9% of Design-Build
