Product Data: Manufacturer's data sheets on each product to be used, including: 1. Manufacturer's printed installation instructions, showing required preparation and installation procedures. 2. Storage and handling requirements and recommendations. 3. Installation methods including anchorage details. 4. Cleaning and maintenance instructions. C. Shop Drawings: Provide shop drawings indicating details of construction, anchorage and installation. Include statement that anchorage methods comply with applicable building codes and loadings for the type of framing and condition of the supporting construction and details. D. Verification Samples: For each product specified, two samples 6 inches in length, representing materials, colors, patterns, textures, and finishes to be installed. 1. Closeout Submittals: Documentation of manufacturer's warranty. 1.5 QUALITY ASSURANCE A. Installer: Minimum 2 years experience with similar composite decking materials. B. Mock-Up: Provide a mock-up for evaluation of surface preparation techniques and application workmanship. 1. Finish areas designated by Architect. 2. Do not proceed with remaining work until workmanship and appearance are approved by Architect. 3. Subject to approval by Architect, mock-up may be retained as part of finish work. C. Pre-Installation Meetings: Conduct pre-installation meetings to verify project requirements, substrate conditions, construction documents, details and manufacturer's warranty requirements. 1.6 DELIVERY, STORAGE, AND HANDLING A. Delivery: Deliver materials in manufacturer's original, unopened, undamaged rolls/pallets with identification labels intact. B. Storage and Protection: Store materials protected from exposure to harmful environmental conditions and at temperature and humidity conditions recommended by the manufacturer.

3 1.7 PROJECT CONDITIONS A. Maintain environmental conditions (temperature, humidity, and ventilation) within limits recommended by manufacturer for optimum results. Do not install products under environmental conditions outside manufacturer's recommended limits. 1.8 WARRANTY A. Manufacturer's Warranty: Manufacturer's standard limited 10 year warranty. Extruded recycled polypropylene composite bonded with wood under zero moisture conditions. 1. Standards Compliance: a. ICC--ES Acceptance Criteria for Deck Board Span Ratings and Guardrail Systems (Guards and Handrails), AC174. b. Performance requirements of ASTM D Performance Requirements: a. Structural performance demonstrated for temperature range of minus 20 to 125 degrees F (minus 28.9 to 51.7 degrees C). 1) Uniform Live Load Rating: 100 lbs per sq ft (45.5 kg), support frame spacing at 16 in (40.6 cm) maximum. 2) Deck Boards Used as Stair Treads: a) Concentrated Load Rating: 300 lbs (136 kg), support frame spacing at 12 in (305 mm) maximum. b. Wind Uplift Resistance Ratings: Support frame spacing at 16 in (406 mm). 1) Channeled and Starter boards fastened with Fastenators using a fastener on both sides of the board attached with a #7 trim head screw. a) Rating: 81 lbs per sq ft. 2) The wind uplift resistance rating recognized in this report is based on attachment to treated Southern Pine framing (specific gravity, G equals 0.55). Installation on wood framing with a lesser specific gravity may result in a lower wind uplift rating. c. Flame Spread Index (ASTM E 84): Face: One side smooth, one side grooved. 4. Hollow Cell Profile Dimensions: a. Thickness: 0.87 in (22 mm). b. Width: 5.71 in (145 mm). c. Length: in (3850 mm). 5. Profiles: Starter boards to match deck. 6. Fasteners: a. Basis of Design: Cliplam Intelligent Fastening System as manufactured by Geolam.

4 b. Clip system is not visible when installed. Clips attach with one self-tapping screw mounted from top of clip and can be used with aluminum joists without pre-drilling holes. No protruding screw heads. 1) Damaged boards can be replaced without disturbing adjacent boards. 2) Resistant to extreme temperatures, UV, insects, salt, chlorine, detergent, and humidity. 3) Clip Material: Hardened galvanized steel coated with polypropylene and polyethylene. 4) Hardware: Stainless steel screws, coated first in zinc, then a Teflon-like coating to lubricate for ease of installation. 7. Quality Control: Inspections by Architectural Testing, Inc (AA--676). 11. Color: Teak. 12. Color: Rosewood. 3.1 EXAMINATION AND PREPARATION A. Examine existing conditions and do not proceed with installation until substrates have been properly prepared and deviations from manufacturer's recommended tolerances are corrected. Prepare surfaces using the methods recommended by the manufacturer for achieving the best result for the substrate under the project conditions. B. If preparation is the responsibility of another installer, notify Architect in writing of deviations from manufacturer's recommended installation tolerances and conditions. C. Commencement of installation constitutes acceptance of conditions. 3.2 INSTALLATION A. Install in accordance with manufacturer's written instructions and recommendations including but not limited to the following. B. Decking:

6 1. Support Frame Spacing: a. Deck Boards 90 Degrees to Support Joists: 1) Duo Deck Boards: 16 in (406 mm) on center, maximum. 2) Qualita Deck Boards: 24 in (600 mm) on center, maximum. b. Deck Boards at Angle Other Than 90 degrees to Support Joist: 1) Maximum 16 in (406 mm) on center. 2. Deck Boards Used as Stair Treads: a. Install with maximum span relative to board being used. b. Installed in a minimum two-span condition. c. Grooved deck boards may not be used as stair treads. 3. Face-Fastened Decking: Screws at each support. a. Minimum Edge and End Fastener Distance: 1) From Board Edge: 0.75 inches (19 mm). 2) From Board End: 1.5 inch (38 mm). C. Protect installed work from damage due to subsequent construction activity on the site. D. Clean using materials recommended by the manufacturer to remove stains, dirt and debris prior to final acceptance. END OF SECTION
