1 Page 1 of 5 SECTION PARK NON-SEGREGATED BUS SPECIFICATION 1.0 SCOPE 1.1. This specification describes assemblies of 600V, 5Kv and 15Kv non-segregated bus duct, which will be installed indoors and outdoors The manufacturer shall have a minimum of 5 years field experience with the equipment proposed. 2.0 CODES and STANDARDS 2.1. All codes and standards referenced in this specification shall be those in effect at the time of Purchase Order award. Permission for deviation from this specification and referenced codes and standards will not be allowed American National Standards Institute, Inc. (ANSI) Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE) National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA) National Electrical Code (NEC) 2.2. It shall be the Seller s and/or Manufacture's responsibility to be, or to become, knowledgeable of the requirements of these Codes and Standards. Any changes or alterations to the equipment to make it meet the Codes and Standards requirements shall be at the expense of the Seller Whenever equipment, proposed by the Seller, cannot fully meet the requirements of this specification, such exceptions must be clearly stated by the Seller. No exceptions shall be allowed. 3.0 DETAILED TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS 3.1. Basic Construction The bus duct shall be completely metal-enclosed and weatherproof with pitched roof for outdoor applications The bus conductor shall be made of C110 copper Kv and 15Kv Design: Except at bolted termination's the bus bar shall be insulated with flame retardant, epoxy insulation applied by Park fluidized bed system. All bolted joints; expansion joints; and bus connections, factory or field; shall be insulated with removable boots. Taping is acceptable at transformer and equipment terminations. Removable boots shall be designed to overlap permanent insulation on each conductor in the connection. The length of overlap on each conductor shall not be less than 2 inches at expansion joints, and not less than

2 Page 2 of 5 1/2 at other connections. The insulation rating of bus joint, connection, and termination insulation shall be not less than the voltage rating of the equipment V Design: Bare bus is acceptable, but painted black a. OPTION for 600V: Except at bolted termination's the bus bar shall be insulated with flame retardant, epoxy insulation applied by Park fluidized bed system. All bolted joints; expansion joints; and bus connections, factory or field; shall be insulated with removable boots. Taping is acceptable at transformer and equipment terminations. Removable boots shall be designed to overlap permanent insulation on each conductor in the connection. The length of overlap on each conductor shall not be less than 2 inches at expansion joints, and not less than 1/2 at other connections. The insulation rating of bus joint, connection, and termination insulation shall be not less than the voltage rating of the equipment All bus bar connections shall be bolted, accomplished by bolts passing through the bus bar conductor capable of being torqued and locked in place to provide and maintain full and uniform pressure under all operation conditions. All bolted joints shall have silver to silver or tin to tin contact surfaces with minimum contact resistance. Provisions shall be made for bus expansion, to prevent undesirable or destructive mechanical strains in the bus supports and connections. Expansion joints shall be furnished where required. (Torque requirements in FT-LBS shall be furnished by the manufacturer) The bus shall be installed with rigid, non-tracking, fire-resistant, and nonhydroscopic insulating supports capable of with standing the mechanical forces imposed by short-circuit currents equal to the momentary current. Park GPO-3 insulators shall be used. (Insulator Part# B1400, 600V Insert Part# B1401, 5Kv & 15Kv Insert Part# B1402 ) The enclosure shall be aluminum with stainless steel hardware. The enclosure and joints shall be designed and sized to meet all the requirements of an equipment grounding conductor in accordance with NEC. This requires bonding jumpers and/or a separate ground bus be furnished The bus duct shall include all necessary Park flexible connectors and hardware to connect the bus duct to the auxiliary transformer and to the switchgear. Insulated cable or hard bus connection is not acceptable A fire resistant divider or barrier shall be provided at all points where the bus duct extends through the building wall. The barrier shall have a minimum rating of (3) three hours Suitable accessories and fittings shall be furnished on the bus duct to accommodate buyers hangers and supports. Required support point shall be designated on the bus duct drawings It shall be the bus duct Seller s responsibility to match the bus duct connection flanges to switchgear and transformers. If necessary, dimensions and details of the connecting equipment flange connections will be supplied to Seller by Buyer Space heaters rated 240 volts ac, operating at 120 volts ac, shall be provided in all outdoor bus duct to prevent condensation. The space heaters shall be completely factory wired with no exposed wiring inside the bus housing. Heaters shall be thermostatically controlled. The space heaters shall be supplied from and external source by Buyer. The entire circuit shall be wired to an accessible terminal block providing for a single connection of the external power source. Space heaters shall be accessible from the outside of the bus duct. A drip shield will be provided over the space heater opening to prevent entry of water into the enclosure.

3 Page 3 of Finish The bus enclosure shall be farbricated from aluminum not less than 1/8 inch thick Bus hardware shall be stainless steel for outdoor applications and zinc plated for indoor applications The bus duct enclosures shall be cleaned, primed and finish-powder coated in accordance with Park standard practice The finish coat shall be ANSI No light gray Outdoor Bus Duct Supports Support spans shall be 12 feet or less Supports shall be galvanized steel Supports over 10 feet tall shall be (Park Prt#DBSJ20) constructed with 12 X12 X3/8 wall steel tubing. Supports under 10 feet tall shall be (Park Prt#DBSJ10) constructed with 6 X6 X3/8 wall steel tubing. Supports may vary with material and size depending on site conditions Structures shall be galvanized by the hot dip process in accordance with ASTM A-123 except that all shapes shall receive 3.0 oz. of zinc per square foot of surface area. Structures are to be galvanized both inside and out after all cutting, punching, welding and cleaning have been completed Finished galvanized surfaces must be uniform in color, appearance and texture and must be free of excessive roughness, pimples, lumpiness and runs Indoor Bus Supports 4.0.
