6 4- Substrate Priming and leveling: * Concrete substrates must be prepared mechanically using abrasive blast cleaning or scarifying equipment to remove cement laitance and achieve an open textured surface. * Weak concrete must be removed and surface defects such as blowholes and voids must be fully exposed. * Repairs to the substrate, filling of blowholes/voids and surface levelling must be carried out using appropriate products from the Sikafloor, SikaDur and SikaGard range of materials. * Apply two priming coats. Apply Sikafloor -94 at a consumption of kg/m2 by means of brush, roller. Note: you can use each of Sikafloor Sikafloor -161 or Sikafloor -94 as a primer. 5- Mixing of Sikafloor -94: Mix Component A using an electric mixer ( rpm) for at least 3 minutes before adding component B, Mix Component A and B of Sikafloor -94 using an electric stirrer ( rpm) for at least 3 minutes or longer, until homogeneous, uniform mix is achieved. Prior to mixing, stir component A (resin) and add all of component B (hardener)

7 Make sure the hardener is fully emptied into the resin component Mix both components thoroughly with a low speed electric stirrer ( rpm). Mix for at least 3 minutes until a uniform mix has been achieved

8 6- Mixing of Sikafloor Terrazzo EG: Author: Eng. Maram Aboelwafa Prior to mixing, stir part A mechanically. When all of part B has been added to part A, mix continuously for 2 minutes until a uniform mix has been achieved. When parts A and B have been mixed, add the aggregates and mix for a further 2 minutes until a uniform mix has been achieved. Note: Please refer to the pictures in section 5 with regards to the mixing procedure which is analogue to that of Sikafloor Application of Sikafloor Terrazzo EG system: Apply Sikafloor -94 primer by means of brush, roller. Make sure that the primer is still tacky, place the mortar and spread evenly by means of serrated trowel. Turn the serrated trowel and smooth the surface with a steel float. Grout the hardened surface until saturation and all voids are completely filled. Brush the surface with a wide, short bristle brush to avoid build up of surface grout and eliminate air-entrapment immediately after application. Once the surface grout has hardened, grinding and smoothing of the structure is carried out. The surface is then washed with clean water

9 Remove any loose aggregate and excess water using an industrial vacuum. After surface is dried final grouting of surface is done and the surface is grinding then final polish is applied. Clean all tools and application equipment with thinner C immediately after use. Hardened / cured material can be mechanically removed. Sikafloor -Terrazzo is poured, spread evenly by means of a serrated trowel. After spreading the material evenly, Turn the serrated trowel and smooth the surface with a steel float

10 Final polish is applied. Grinding and smoothing of the surface. Note: Freshly applied Sikafloor Terrazzo EG must be protected from damp, condensation and water for at least 24 hours
