2 Project Overview The Ironton Russell Bridge Project entails the construction of a cast in place concrete cable stayed bridge over the Ohio River with structural steel approaches connecting the towns of Ironton, Ohio and Russell, Kentucky. The bridge will provide two 12-ft driving lanes and two 4 ft shoulders; a driving lane and shoulder in each direction. Span lengths for the approaches vary widely as they cross numerous (6) rail lines, the Ohio River levee and city streets. On the Kentucky side the spans are 140-ft and 235-ft; in Ohio the spans are 110-ft, 144-ft, 186-ft and 144-ft. The approach bridges are founded on small diameter drilled shafts (Kentucky) or steel pile (Ohio). The main span unit consists of three spans; two flanking spans at 370-ft and the center span of 900-ft. The main span unit is supported by two CIP, 316-ft tall, diamond shaped towers, founded on large diameter drilled shafts with rock sockets. When completed, the 900-ft main span will be the longest span the Ohio DOT has built. The original contract value for construction of the new structure and removal of the existing is $81,266,742.05, with Brayman Construction Corporation the low bidder. Recent Construction Highlights - Main Span Main Span- Kentucky Cantilever: A view of the Kentucky cantilever from Tower 4 (OH) shows the form traveler in position for casting segment M15. After casting M15, the form traveler will be lowered and moved to Tower 4 to begin casting the second half of the main span. Page 1 of 8

Concrete is placed into the edge girder and around the cable stay guide pipes at Segment M15 (right). Page 2 of 8

4 Ironton Russell Bridge Project Project Summary: January 1, 2016 Tower 4 (OH): Tower 4 is complete through lift 17 of 18. Formwork is in place to cast the final lift 18 (left). Once lift 18 is complete, the traveler currently at segment M15 on the Kentucky cantilever will be moved to Tower 4 to begin casting segments for the Ohio cantilever (below). Page 3 of 8

Bridge and Roadway Summary Tower 3 (KY), the Ohio back span, the Kentucky back span, and the approaches are complete. At Tower 4 (OH), Segment 15 left (downstream) was cast on November 19, 2015, Segment 16 was cast on December 16, 2015, and Segment 17 was cast on December 31, 201. Segment 18 is currently being formed. On the main span at the Kentucky Tower cantilever, Segment M9 was cast on November 6, 2015, Segment M10 was cast on November 14, 2015, Segment M11 was cast on November 20, 2015, Segment M12 was cast on December 3, 2015, Segment M13 was cast on December 11, 2015, Segment M14 was cast on December 21, 2015, and Segment M15 was cast on December 31, The Kentucky cantilever is now complete. The contractor is currently preparing to lower the form traveler to a barge at river level for relocation to the Ohio Tower. Page 4 of 8
