Horizontal force equal to not less than 0.15 kn for each metre length of seats acting perpendicular to each row of seats. Based on the assumption that these forces are acting independently of each..3 Seat Boards: Live load: uniform distributed load of 1.75 KN per each linear metre or for a concentrated load of 2.2 kn distributed over a length of 750 mm, whichever produces the most critical effect..4 Guardrails: Horizontal load applied at the top of guard: 3.0 kn/m for means of egress, 0.75 kn/m or a concentrated load of 1.0 kn applied at any point for non-egress. Vertical load applied at the top of the guard: 1.5 kn/m need not be considered to act simultaneously with the horizontal loads..5 Pickets or Panels: Horizontal load of 0.5 kn applied over an area of 100 mm by 100 mm so as to produce the most critical effect this load need not be considered to act simultaneously with the guardrail loads.6 Handrails : Concentrated load of 0.9 kn applied at any point and in any direction. Uniform load of 0.7 kn/m applied in any direction to handrail..1.4 Submittals.1 Submit with bid proposal a schematic plan showing general design and seat locations complete with the decking and aisle layout plan..2 Submit manufacturer s approved shop drawings signed and sealed by professional engineer licensed in Ontario, for each of the bleacher system components (if applicable): primary and secondary framing, bracing, decking, supports for seats, aisle steps, aisle handrails, hardware, ramp and stair framing, handrails and guardrails..1.5 Quality Assurance.1 Codes and Standards: Design, fabrication and installation shall be in accordance with the latest editions of all codes and standards referenced in Section of this specification..2 Installer Qualifications: Experienced erectors specialized in installing bleachers similar to bleacher systems described for this project..3 Manufacturer Qualifications: Provide 5 references pertaining to similar bleacher related

3 Page 3 contracts including Owner s name, contact information, scope of work provided and date completed..4 Welders: Manufacturer Certified to CWB requirements of CSA specification W47.1. Bidder to provide letter of validation from Canadian Welding Bureau demonstrating certification at time of tender.5 Delivery: All components are not to be damaged during delivery, package components accordingly and store items in a manner to prevent staining, denting, and other visible damage..1.7 Warranty.1 Products manufactured by Sport Systems Canada Inc are warranted for a period of one year against all defects in materials and workmanship starting after the substantial completion of the project. The warranty does not apply to any damage resulting from neglect, misuse, improper handling of material, acts of God or improperly executed site preparation..2 Anodized finish of plank extrusions are warranted for a period of five years against loss of structural strength or finish deterioration due to weather or UV exposure. Discoloration of mill finish aluminum due to galvanic reaction is not covered. 3. The following is required to receive approval from the owner: Work experience record complete with contact information (25 jobs minimum) Profile of five similar jobs complete with detailed photographs Curriculum Vitae for key personnel Proposed seating plan complete with aisle locations Proposed elevation complete with dimensions and member sizes. Seat board and riser board samples including end caps. Guardrail assembly compete with handrail/pickets/connections etc. 2.1 Supporting Members (Framework):.1 Main supporting members be a welded angle frame design and shall be hot dipped galvanized..2 Spaced at 6-0 / 1829 mm centres (maximum)..3 Frames shall be laterally supported with a double angle aluminum cross bracing & spacer.

4 Page Aluminum Planking System.1 Planking system to consist of nominal 2 x 10 (38 mm x 241 mm) 6063 T6 aluminum extrusion for seating, footboard, aisle steps, platform decking, and ramp decking.2 Riser planking to consist of 1 x 6 (25mm x 152 mm) 6063 T6 aluminum extrusion.3 All planking to furnished with heavy-duty end caps fastened to the underside of the plank with rivets..4 Walking surfaces to be non-slip..5 Aisle Width: Shall be designed to meet applicable codes. All aisles shall have extruded aluminum nosing specially designed to allow for safe navigation of staircases. Nosing to be black in colour to provide contrast.6 Access Aisle Ways: width and location to conform to NBC 2005 egress requirements per seating Density. Bleacher to feature anodized aluminum handrail system in each aisle way..7 Seat planks to feature 10 micron clear anodized finish. Footboards, risers, steps and ramp planking to be mill finished. 2.3 Guardrails and Handrails.1 Furnished on sides, back and front of bleacher (elevated walkway) as required in accordance with NBC building code..2 All pipe shall be 1-1/4 NPS (1.66 O.D./ 42 mm) anodized aluminum with appropriate joiners. All guardrail pipe to be bent continuously in a smooth manner with appropriate radius to ensure that no gaps in excess of 3-7/8 (100 mm). Elbow joiners not approved as equal. Secured to angle rail posts with galvanized fasteners...3 Rails not less than 36 / 914mm vertically above the centre of adjacent seat board surface and not less than 42 / 1067 mm above the centre of adjacent footboard shall be provided at the back and sides of the. bleacher. Standard guard is pipe rail arrangement..4 Guardrail to be feature 2 x 2 x 9 Ga. galvanized chainlink fabric secured via means of wire ties ever 16 / 400 mm on centre..5 Handrails shall be continuous 1.66 O.D / 42 mm aluminum railings..6 Guardrail pipe and handrail pipe to feature 10 micron clear anodized finish. 2.4 Foundation System General Requirements.1 The site on which the bleachers shall be placed should consist of a minimum bearing capacity of 1000 psf / 50 kpa.2 All topsoil and other organic or deleterious material should be removed to undisturbed competent ground with required bearing capacity as outlined above.3 When placing bleachers on a concrete slab the following recommendations apply: (i) a minimum 4 thick reinforced concrete slab (frost lines, soil conditions or other conditions may require additional slab thickness or additional reinforcing), (ii) surface may be sloped to a maximum of 1/8 per foot for drainage. Maximum out of level (perpendicular to seats) should not exceed 2. (iii) Variations in slab flatness should not exceed 5/16 below a 10 long straight edge.3 If required for site leveling or other site conditions, the bleacher system could be placed on a on compacted gravel with a minimum thickness of 6 / 150 mm. The materials should be placed with a maximum thickness of 300mm and be compacted to 95% Standard Proctor Maximum Dry Density or equivalent.

5 Page Geotechnical Report Requirements.1 It is recommended that the owner engage a local soil testing firm to investigate and furnish a soils report. The report should include at a minimum the soil conditions, bearing capacity and associated settlement, frost depth as well as any local conditions that may impact the performance of the structure Methods of Anchoring.1 Bleachers must be anchored to resist the wind loads calculated in accordance with the 2005 N.B.C. (designed by others.).2 Concrete foundations: Design of foundations shall be based on the geotechnical report provided by the owner. Where installation on a concrete pad is not required, bleacher is to bear on an HDPE sleeper system on compacted granular and is to be anchored..3 Slab Anchoring: bleacher is to be anchored to slab with 3/8 wedge bolts as per detailed on shop drawings.4 Earth Anchors can be used on granular style pada installations. These anchors should be placed below the local frost depth as per geotechnical recommendations for the local area. Part 3 EXECUTION 3.1 Installation.1 All work will be performed by factory-trained technicians experienced in bleacher installation..2 Complete installation as per approved shop drawings and manufacturers written instructions..3 No structural members are to be field cut, altered, or drilled without written approval from the manufacturer s professional engineer..4 After installation, unit shall be inspected for proper alignment and function.
