4 INSTALLATION TIPS Foundation Wall (interior application) HOMEGA must be installed on a flat foundation wall free of any rough or uneven concrete. It is mounted directly on the concrete wall. To fix the boards, simply drill three holes through each furring strip into the concrete and fasten with screws or concrete nails. Do not use glue For each wall, the starting sheet must be cut to 2 5/8 in (67mm), 3 1/2 in (89mm) or 3 7/8 in (98mm) from the furring strip (according to product thickness). Before completely covering a wall, make sure you have installed a starting sheet on the following wall. For the last sheet of each wall, leave 1/2 in (13mm) of free space in order to inject low expansion spray foam. For interior corners, use the leftover board as your starting sheet for the next corner. For exterior corners, glue on a metal corner after drywall installation or add a strip of metal sheet (which must be pre-folded at 90 and wide enough to be nailed to the existing strips). Repeat these steps for the other walls. Seal the 1/2 in (13mm) spaces in every corner and all other visible openings with low expansion spray foam. For electricity, embed electrical boxes into the insulation and secure to the furring strip or in the foam with low expansion spray foam. To install electrical wiring, use a thin-bladed knife to make a V-shaped channel in the insulation. Check with your electrician and building code standards in place if protection has to be installed. For windows, provide a solid frame of wood furring for installation of wide mouldings. When installing drywall, start in a corner, installing the left-hand sheet before the right-hand one, so that the right one supports the one on the left. 6 INSTALLATION TIPS On Concrete Slab (nailed flooring) 1. Glue HOMEGA insulation boards to the concrete to prevent movement during installation (optional). Use a small amount of solvent-free glue. 2. Cross plywood joints with HOMEGA insulation boards. 3. Screw the plywood along the furring strip at 12 in (305mm) intervals. 4. Apply the selected finishing surface. 7 INSTALLATION TIPS Ceiling When using HOMEGA boards for a flat or cathedral ceiling, it is recommended to install mat, blanket or bulk insulation (cellulose, fibreglass or mineral fibre) between the roof joists. Once HOMEGA boards are installed, it is important to cover them with vapour-barrier and then install continuous drywall, before installing divisions. Successive Layers : 1. 8 INSTALLATION TIPS Roof There are as many ways to install HOMEGA as there are ways to install a roof! As this is an important step in your construction or renovation, it is well worth contacting a representative to get the best advice, specific to your project.

9 INSTALLATION TIPS Electricity 1. Remove 1/2 in (13mm) where 2 boards meet or following the lenght of a furring strip. 2. Use a square to make a parallel cut. 3. Stop at the electrical box intended height and cut the needed space to push it in. 4. Encase the electrical box in the insulation. If the installation is alongside the furring strip, fasten it in the wood. 5. Place the electrical wire in the cavity already done in previous steps and insert it in the electrical box. 6. Seal the box with spray foam. Consult your electrician and your valid local Construction Building Code if a protection must be intalled.
