2 85% Wet Room Easa Dek A Resilient, easy to install floor former or base concept and a Universal Design alternative to building waterproof wet floors with the added benefit of cut to size. 150mm 150mm 85% Only 22mm thick. Our unique patented floor former is lightweight for a single installer and focuses on strength and multi-functionality (patent GB A). Suitable for vinyl or tiled flooring. Can be installed in a corner or an alcove. Tiling Upstands can be supplied to provide enhanced waterproofing protection. Non-handed. Can be cut if required (cut edges must be fitted against the walls). Available in 7 different sizes. Weight capacity 380 kg / 60 stone (Bariatric). Offset waste location to help avoid joists. Wastes for vinyl or tiles are provided to suit the required floor type. Easa recommends fitting waterproof tanking kits for installations with tiles. 100% recyclable. All Easa Deks can be cut in length and width. Please ensure all cut edges are fitted against the walls. Can be cut within 150mm of waste centre point. 4 Easa Dek Fitting Instructions for Solid Floors Depending on the size, the Floor Former may be heavy, please be careful whilst handling. Protect shower base from damage by using the cardboard packaging. Please note that the floor former must not be fitted without a floor covering applied on top, e.g. sheet vinyl flooring, tiles, etc. All of the Easa Dek range of Floor Formers can be cut to size using a conventional hacksaw or stone blade grinder. However it is important that any cut edges are placed to the wall. It is not possible to place any cut edges to the outside edges where the floor former meets the floor. Floor Former can be cut to size using a conventional hacksaw or stone blade grinder. Cut edges MUST be placed against a wall. 1. Place Floor Former in position and mark out the size on the floor. 2. Break out screed or concrete to a minimum depth of 25mm. Check that the Floor Former fits into the opening. 3. Decide on direction of waste and breakout wall if required. For the waste it is necessary to break out 150mm diameter to a depth of 150mm. Repair any damage to damp proof course membrane. Install the waste piping (minimum fall 1 in 40). It should line up with the centre of the waste opening in the Floor Former. Please read the separate waste instructions. 4. 5 Easa Dek Fitting Instructions for Solid Floors To ensure a waterproof seal a tiling upstand may be added to the edges of the floor former that will be placed against the walls. Optional rigid aluminium or flexible EPDM upstands are available. 5. Place the Floor Former gently into position do not drop as this could cause damage. 6. Ensure Floor Former is level on all sides. 7. When the waste is seated in position, use a 3.5mm drill bit to bore through the 4 location holes of the waste flange into the floor former. Be careful not to go too deep as the waste pipe is underneath. Fit self tapping screws provided to secure the waste into place. 8. The seam between floor and Floor Former must be completely level. Fill any gaps with polyester filler paste. For tile floor installations you will need to apply the Easa tanking system as per kit instructions. Please Note: Apply sheet flooring or tiles as required using appropriate adhesive. The correct waste must be used depending on flooring type see separate waste instructions for fitting waste to appropriate flooring type. 7 EASA Fitting Instructions for Wooden Floors CROSS SECTION VIEW 7. Heavy duty method - At each end of Floor Former add purlins between joists. Then add battens to the sides of the joists and form a platform with 18mm plywood level with the top of the joists. 8. Joists and plywood must be level on all sides. To ensure a waterproof seal a tiling upstand may be added to the edges of the floor former that will be placed against the walls. Optional rigid aluminium or flexible EPDM upstands are available. 9. Place the Floor Former gently into position do not drop as this could cause damage. Polyurethane expanding foam or silicone can be added underneath the floor former as necessary. 10. Ensure the Floor Former is level on all sides. 11. When placing the Floor Former into position ensure the waste fits neatly onto the shower outlet pipe. When the waste is seated in position, use a 3.5mm drill bit to bore through the 4 location holes of the waste flange into the floor former. Be careful not to go too deep as the waste pipe is underneath. Fit self tapping screws provided to secure the waste into place. Do not over-tighten the screws. FILLER 12. Mark position of the joists and drill all four sides of the Floor Former into the joists and purlins. The holes must be countersunk to accommodate the screw heads (4.2mm x 60mm recommended screw size). 13. The seam between floor and Floor Former must be completely level. Fill any gaps with polyester filler paste. If required apply tanking system as per manufacturers instructions. Please Note: Apply sheet flooring or tiles as required using appropriate adhesive. Installation Overview WET ROOM EASA The Easa Dek system rests beneath the chosen fl oor covering (tiles or vinyl), the unique design focuses on strength, multi-functionality and speed of installation. Ensure silicone sealant is applied between the top edge of tiling lip and wall to provide a watertight seal and effectively fi ll any gaps between fl oor and leading edges. The fl oor former will be covered with the chosen fl oor covering to create a complete barrier free access. WET ROOMS A waterproof tanking system is essential to ensure a waterproof installation of the Easa Dek.

10 Information and cleaning instructions for your Wet Room Easa Dek Please read the following information carefully Product description of Easa Deks The Easa Dek floor former is manufactured from Glass Reinforced Plastic (GRP) and can withstand up to 380 kg. All Easa Deks can be fitted on both screed and wooden floors and full fitting instructions are supplied containing instructions of the Easa Dek. You are advised to keep these instructions for your information. The dimensions of the shower system will be detailed on the warranty card. Safety first For your safety, it is advisable to be seated in the showering area before turning the water on. Ensure shower doors and curtains are closed. For clients who are mobile, it is advisable to use grab rails to assist with transfers in and out of the showering area. Clients using wheeled shower access may require assistance for positioning and transferring in and out of the showering area. Always apply any shower chair brakes during showering. After showering, allow the excess water to drain away before standing or transferring out of the shower area. Care should be taken when transferring in and around the shower area as wet surfaces greatly increase the risk of slipping. The waste supplied can have the internal section removed for easy cleaning, and allows water to drain effectively from a showerhead that delivers a maximum of 24 litres per minute (low profile wet-room wastes 46 litres per minute). Wet Room Easa Dek floor formers Our Easa Dek floor former will be covered with anti-slip floor covering and it is important to follow the manufacturers cleaning instruction for that specific floor covering. This may be available from the installer. Cleaning instructions / maintenance DO NOT USE: Abrasive Cleaners Hair Colorants Bleach Do not pour any chemical drain cleaner down the waste Waste maintenance Remove the top grid by lifting it straight up and then the internal tube by turning it anti-clockwise. Remove any hair and debris, flush through with clean water and replace back in position. WARNING Concentrated cleaning liquids, shampoos, conditioners, soaps etc that are left on the Easa Dek greatly increases the risk of slipping. If a family member, care worker, home help or privately employed cleaner is responsible for the cleaning of the Easa Dek please encourage them to read these instructions. Warranty* All our Easa Deks are manufactured to the highest standard and have a lifetime warranty. If the unit fails, contact us, quote the serial number that appears on the warranty card and follow the advice detailed in Customer Complaints Procedure. We will either repair or replace the unit within 14 working days if found to be defective. Please note Claims will not be met under guarantee if the product has been abused in any way by neglect, improper use or failure to maintain in accordance with Easa s recommendations, or if the system has been damaged in any accident.
