3 SPECIFICATION #2018-NC-001 GENERAL: 1.1 These specifications represent the minimum quantity and quality of materials to be utilized for this project. The specifications, plans, and room schedule identifies: materials to be used in all rooms, wall materials, ceiling heights, approximate room size, floor material, doors, lighting, etc. 1.3 The Contract Plans represent the proposed Amphitheater layout, electrical/phone/computer wiring plan, lighting plan layout, elevations, typical (minimum) construction standards, etc. to be utilized. The contractor shall field measure all rooms prior to ordering materials to be used to assure proper quantities have been provided. 1.4 The CONTRACTOR shall be responsible to order material when needed assuring proper size and amount of material required, coordinate delivery, unload, and protect all material. 1.5 Special inspections (geo-technical, structural, concrete, etc) shall be the responsibility of the Owner. The Contractor shall coordinate with the Owner a minimum of 48-hours notice of when inspections shall be required. 1.6 All work shall comply with the International Building Code (IBC) and with the 2013 Kentucky Building Code (KBC) changes and the National Electric Code The Pre-Engineered Metal Building (PEMB) shall be designed to withstand all dead loads, live loads, snow loads, wind loads, and other loads as stated in the IBC and KBC Live Load Reduction (per IBC and/or Kentucky Building Code and ) SHALL NOT be allowed for live loads and the roof live loads for this project. 1.7 Excavation/fill Requirements: Various areas require site clearing and excavation of soil material. Various areas will require fill material. All areas to be filled shall be filled with NCRD supplied rock (#57 or # 9, or similar) supplied Rocks. Backfill all areas to required sub-grade elevations with Rock (#57 or similar). This rock shall be supplied by the NCRD (or private haulers at County discretion). This rock fill shall be AT NO Cost to the Contractor The contractor shall be responsible for proper vibratory compaction off all rock fill areas to assure no future settlement See Attachment C for General Guide Specification for all trades/materials

4 Construction Required: 1.0- DEMOLITION/Site Clearing: Reference Plan Sheet Nos. D1.01,S-1 and E-1 These Plans depict the Existing As Built Amphitheater Site. These Entire Structures (Stage Right/Stage Left) Torm Walls, rear Walls/Ramp/Platform/Rail including electrical wire/outlets/lights/ etc shall be demolished COMPLETE. This work shall include all necessary site clearing work to limits shown on the plans, and site excavation work to grades indicated on the plans, Specifications, and contract documents. This work shall also include all necessary concrete foundation excavation necessary for the PEMB construction and final concrete slab. The back of the stage/amphitheater area is an existing (failed) concrete drainage ditch. This structure shall be excavated/demolished and removed to the grades necessary as shown in the plans for proper construction of the new drainage ditch Should Bid Item # 1A be utilized, then all excavation shall be to subgrade elevation required for proper construction of the Gabion Basket Retaining wall (to be constructed by the the Nelson County Road Dept. (NCRD)) and the construction of the Concrete Retaining wall/paved ditch-sidewalk structure by the contractor The NCRD shall provide two tandem dump trucks/operators for removal of cleared/excavated debris The Nelson County Landfill shall provide roll off Containers for disposal at no cost to the Contractor. One Roll off Truck (making trips back/forth to Landfill) with alternating 40/30 yard containers shall be available full time to the site during demolition. Contractor shall take trucks and operators supplied by the NCRD into account. The Contractor shall be responsible to remove the Existing 30" Drainage Pipe (currently under Stage Right Foundation) Discharging to the past stage left. This requires Saw Cutting Concrete to allow for proper excavation. Backfill shall be with (by contractor) #57 rock. Rock back Fill shall be provided by the NCRD. Reference Contract Plans and Section 9, Special conditions for Demolition Notes: 2.0 BUILDING CONSTRUCTION Pre-Engineered Metal Building (PEMB) shall be utilized for this project (for Stage Left and Stage Right) Clear Span Steel Beam building per the dimensions of the enclosed plans. The structural shall meet all standard building codes requirements and construction guidelines for Kentucky. The building s manufacturer shall comply with all standards, specifications, recommendations,

5 findings, and/or interpretations recognized by the American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC), American Iron and Steel Institutes (AISI), American Welding Society (AWS), American Society of testing Materials (ASTM), Metal Building Manufacturer s Association (MBMA), Light Gauge Steel Institute (LGSI) and others design/manufacturing agencies in the design, manufacturing, and construction of all structural components required for this project. Acceptable PEMB Design/Manufactures : CECO Building Systems KIRBY Building systems VARCO PRUDEN or approved Equals The PEMB manufacturer shall have/provide Design/construction Specifications which comply with MBMA s Metal Building Systems Manual which shall Include material specifications, erection specifications, and commercial/industrial Color Coating system with Color Charts. The PEMB shall comply with all applicable requirements of the 2013 Kentucky Building Code (2013KBC). The building s manufacturer shall comply with all standards, specifications, recommendations, findings, and/or interpretations recognized by the American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC), American Iron and Steel Institutes and The 2013 Kentucky Building Code (2013KBC) Structure Paint: All Primary Framing and Secondary Framing members shall be with Dark Grey Primer Primary Framing: Rigid Frames fabricated as welded built-up sections or hot rolled sections. Columns and rafters may be either uniform depth or tapered. All columns supporting roof shall be I shaped All field bolted connections shall comply with the AISC See plans for proposed building layout/design. Secondary Framing - Purlins, Girts, Eave Struts shall be cold formed Z or C sections with stiffened flanges complying with AISC and LGSI. Purlin and girts sizes, quantities, and spacing shall be as required per the building design loads required by the IBC and KBC and this contract 2.1 Metal A. Manufacturer Qualifications: 1. Provider of advanced installer training. 2. Minimum of ten years experience in manufacturing metal roof systems. 3. Provider of products produced in a permanent factory environment with fixed roll-forming equipment

6 B. Installer Qualifications: 1. At least five years experience in the installation of architectural metal roof panels. 2. Experience on at least five projects of similar size, type and complexity as this Project that have been in service for a minimum of two years with satisfactory performance of the roof system. 3. Employer of workers for this Project who are competent in techniques required by manufacturer for installation indicated and who shall be supervised at all times when material is being installed. C. DELIVERY, STORAGE AND HANDLING 1. General: Comply with manufacturer s current printed product storage recommendations. 2. Delivery: Deliver materials in manufacturer s original, unopened, undamaged containers with identification labels intact. 3. Storage: Store materials above ground, under waterproof covering, protected from exposure to harmful weather conditions and at temperature and humidity conditions recommended by manufacturer. Provide proper ventilation of metal panel system to prevent condensation build-up between each panel and trim or flashing component. Tilt stack to drain in wet conditions. Remove strippable plastic film before storage under high-heat conditions. Store products in manufacturer's unopened packaging until just prior to installation. 4. Handling: Exercise caution in unloading and handling metal panel system to prevent bending, warping, twisting and surface damage. E. Special Exposed Panel Finish Warranty: Painted metal siding shall be the MS Colorfast 45 Paint System or other Manufacturers equal for film integrity, chalk rating and fade rating in which manufacturer agrees to repair or replace panels that show evidence of deterioration within specified warranty period. 1. Deterioration shall include but is not limited to: a. Color fading of more than 5 NBS units when tested according to ASTM D 2244 for a period of 30 years. b. Chalking in excess of a No. 8 rating when tested according to ASTM D 4214 for 30 years c. Cracking, checking, peeling or failure of paint to adhere to bare metal. 2. Warranty Period: Film integrity for 45 years and chalk and fade rating for 30 years from date of Substantial Completion. 3. Manufacturer s warranty may exclude surface deterioration due to physical damage

7 and exposure to salt air environments. E. Special Exposed Panel Finish Warranty: Manufacturer's standard form proprietary two coat roll coated System Warranty for film integrity, chalk rating and fade rating in which manufacturer agrees to repair or replace panels that show evidence of deterioration within specified warranty period. 1. Deterioration shall include but is not limited to: a. Color fading of more than 5 Hunter units on vertical applications or more than 6 Hunter units on non-vertical applications when tested according to ASTM D b. Chalking in excess of a No. 8 rating on vertical applications or a No. 7 rating on non-vertical applications when tested according to ASTM D c. Cracking, checking, peeling or failure of paint to adhere to bare metal. d. Perforation. 2. Warranty Period: Film integrity for 45 years, chalk and fade rating for 30 years, and perforation for 25 years from date of Substantial Completion. 3. Manufacturer s warranty may exclude surface deterioration due to physical damage and exposure to salt air environments. F. Special Warranty: Installer's standard form in which installer agrees to repair or replace standing seam panels that fail due to poor workmanship or faulty installation within the specified warranty period. 1. Warranty Period: 1year from date of Substantial Completion. G. Product Options: EXTERNAL ROOF R Panel (Designed over open Structural Framing) 1. Panel coverage: 36 inches (914.4 mm). 2. Rib Height: 1-1/4 inches (31.8 mm). 3. Material: Aluminum-zinc alloy-coated steel sheet, ASTM A 792, AZ55 coating designation, structural quality, Grade 50, inch (0.60-mm) minimum thickness (26 gauge) for external roof. 4. Minimum Roof Slope Capability: 1: Attachment: Exposed direct fastened panel. 6. Application: Designed for application over open framing or solid substrate. 7. Rib Configuration: Trapezoidal. 8. Surface Finish: MS Colorfast45 or Equal 9. Color: As selected by Owner from manufacturer's standard colors. 10. Fire Resistance Rating: Comply with UL 263 and UL 790 Class A Fire Resistance Ratings

9 INSULATION: for PEMB Vinyl Backed Insulation: Color of exposed vinyl shall be BLACK 6" vinyl backed insulation shall be installed over roof purlins and 4" vinyl backed insulation shall installed over the walls of the PEMB The Vinyl Backed insulation shall be secured per industry standards. Insulation shall be LAMTEC Corporation WMP-VR-R Plus or equal complying with the Following: Vinyl Facing comp= Polypropylene, flame resistant adhesive, Reinforced with tri- directional fiberglass, metalized, backing film Water Vapor Movement = 0.02; Tensile Strength 65 lbs/in., Mullen Burst = 120 psi; Beach Puncture = 125; Conform with ASTM E CONCRETE: Foundation and Flooring 3.1: Flooring: The concrete slab under the Stage Left building, Stage Right Building, Center Stage shall be a 4-inch thick slab placed on 4"-3" (+/-) DGA, overtop the existing concrete slab. The Concrete finish grade elevations required are shown on the plans. The concrete slab shall be Class AA (air entrained), 4,000 psi per the Kentucky Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction most recent version. Reinforcing steel re-bar shall be 60,000 psi and per the plans. Welded Wire Fabric - where noted on plans Foundations/sidewalks/Drainage Ditch reinforced per plans Concrete Slabs in Stage left/stge Right, and center stage shall be Saw cut for contraction joints (depth of cut shall be 1-1/4" min.) Pattern of saw cut joints shall be at 10 ft by 10 ft center to center. Coordinate with Engineer Concrete finish shall be Trowel (Smooth) Finished Concrete floorings shall be sealed with 2 coats of Vocamp 20 concrete curing compound/sealer or equal 3.2: Foundations: shall include concrete for building foundations, drainage ditch/sidewalks/retaining walls and miscellaneous concrete

10 Shall be 4000 PSI, KYTC Class AA (air entrained) concrete. Steel Sheet for Doors, Frames, Anchors, and Accessories: 1. Cold rolled steel: ASTM A 366 or ASTM A 620 and A Hot rolled, pickled, and oiled steel: ASTM A 569 and A Hot dipped zinc coated steel: ASTM A 924 and A 653, Class A40 for alloyed coatings. MANUFACTURED UNITS SHALL: A. Comply with ANSI A B. Fire-rated openings: Comply with NFPA Affix permanent labels attesting to fire resistance Steel Doors Shall comply with Steel Door Institute, Recommended Specifications, Standard Steel Door and Frames (SDI 100 /ANSI A250.8). Provide units of galvanized steel where indicated on the door schedule. Provide units of galvanized steel in the following locations if indicated in the door schedule:

Exterior openings (Exterior grade door)for all doors-see plans 6.12 Doors leafs shall be standard duty, seamless hollow metal construction, shall be sized accordingly, 1-3/4" thick, with 18 gauge seamless galvanized steel face, Series 1500 or 2500 (galvanized for exterior doors) Supercore Doors or equal conforming to Commercial Standard CS242-62, and the Steel Door Institute for Level 2 classification. Top and bottoms shall be not less than 16 gauge channels with Core to be rigid polystyrene foam core. Door leafs shall be mortised for 4-1/2" x 4-1/2" template hinges and prepared for Government series 160 type lock sets or deadbolts Full Flush Panel Doors: Level 2, Model 2 (F) min. 18 gauge factory primed to receive paint finish Steel doors shall be fire rated if required for the design and application. Contractor designer shall assure doors and frames assemblies comply with NFPA 80. Fire-rated Assemblies: Manufactured in accordance with the following standards and bearing label. 1. Underwriters Laboratories Inc. (UL label). 2. Intertek Testing Services (ITS label). 3. Factory Mutual (FM label) Steel doors shall be insulated with rigid polystyrene foam core 6.16 Steel Door Manufacturers subject to compliance are the following 1. Amweld Building Products, Inc. 2. Concealed fastenings unless approved otherwise. Frames shall be constructed of 16 gauge steel with mitered and welded corners. Exterior frames shall be of hot dipped galvanized

13 All new personnel doors shall be furnished with steel door frames with integral stops and trim. Door frames shall be 16 gauge steel, 2" face, depth necessary for application (exterior pre-engineered metal walls, interior wooden studded walls with ½" plywood and metal sheet panels) with mortised hinge jambs. Lock jambs shall be prepared for Government series 160 lock strike jambs or proposed equal lockset Door silencers shall be installed on weatherstripped frames on strike jams. 6.23Doors and frames shall receive mortises and concealed finish hardware in accordance with final Hardware Schedule. The contractor shall be required to assure all new electrical work is properly installed to meet all requirements of the NEC Conductors - all conductors shall be copper (no aluminum). All conductors/conduit shall be concealed in walls and all outlets/switches shall be recessed in the block walls when required. Locations - all outlets, switches, light fixtures are shown on the plans Lighting - shall be installed as shown on the plans: The Light fixture types are indicated on the light plan (sheet E-4) schedule drawing or

15 attached to this specification. Contractor shall submit Data sheet on all Light fixtures proposed to use. Differing manufactures shall be pre-approved Data or Tele Communications wiring Requirements (sheet E-5): Cabling definitions and standards: Multimedia cables include: Cat-6 Fast-Ethernet cabling, phone wires, and Cat-6 refers generically to Category 6, 6E or better, cabling used for high speed Ethernet and Fast-Ethernet premise wiring All multimedia cable should avoid florescent lights, electric motors and compressors All multimedia/phone cabling will be "home run" to the exterior phone box where shown on plans Locations and following types shown on the plans: Type A Single Gang 2 port - 1 cat-6 for phone 1 cat 6E Either net Connect. 17 SPECIFICATIONS 1 BUILDING STRUCTURE: 1.1 Reference plans and details for construction requirements. 1.2 New engineered trusses. - may be New engineered trusses or Stick built type roof structure The trusses/stick build shall span the entire building with twelve (12) inch eave overhangs. The roof system shall be designed to handle all wind, snow, loads for this area and interior ceiling loads (metal ceiling), and point loads identified on the plans.. The roof system shall have pitch per the plans All trusses or Roof Rafters shall be mounted and secured to the base plate with hurricane clips. 1.3 Walls shall be constructed of steel studs or wood studs at 16" CC complying with the following minimum specifications. Steel Studs if used - shall comply with ASTM A 645, G60 zinc coating per ASTM A525, min yield 33 ksi, with 1-1/4" flange bent back at 90 degrees and doubled over to form 3/16" wide min. lip (return). Studs shall be length required to span continuously from floor to underside of structure above. Exterior walls - min. 20 ga., or wood studs at 16" o.c. Runners- ASTM C645, standard 20 ga., channel type with 1.25" flange, protective coating to match studs. Or wood runners Deflection Tracks, Head Slip Tacks, Deflection & Fire stop Tracks comply with ASTM C 645 with material and protective coating to match studs. Designed for intended use and industry standards. Steel Rigid Furring Channels, - ASTM C 645, G 40 zinc coated per ASTM A525, hat shaped, 25 ga., 7/8" deep unless required otherwise. 18 2. ROOF AND WALL COVERING EXTERIOR Materials: The roof covering shall be (at a minimum) new PBR Panel, 26 gauge steel, 1-1/4", side laps with exposed fasteners. (Roof Purlins spaced for all loading requirements) Match PEMB panels Roof panels shall be continuous from ridge to eave. The exterior wall skirt covering shall be new PBR Panel, 26 gauge steel., side laps with exposed fasteners.
