1 FINANCIAL SERVICES GROUP Supply Chain Management ISSUED ON JANUARY 13, 2016 Q1 Drawing calls up TYFO-SCH41 to be used as the FRP product. Can a Sikawrap and Sika Epoxy system be used as an alternative? The product will most likely be Sikawrap 900C or Sikawrap 1400C. A1 Refer to Questions and Answers No. 2, Answer 54. Q2 A2 Q3 Are we allowed to affect traffic along Beach Avenue for a portion of the project? Yes, the Contractor will be required to maintain 2 way pedestrian, cyclist, and vehicle traffic. Single lane alternating traffic will be considered during off peak periods. Please confirm that page 8 of Overhead repairs may be toweled finished, refers to all of Zone 2? Page 5 of Concrete Removal for Repairs General question for this entire section. No matter how good we are at protecting the environment, traveling public or anything on the ground including boats and trees there will be some form of contamination either small dust particles and or milky colored water drops. Will the City advertize and or place appropriate signage letting the residence of COV know of this possibility and that additional maintenance may be required to wash boats and or anything else? A3 Yes the clause applies to all of zone 2. For notification of the marina users refer to Refer to Questions and Answers No. 2, Answer 7. Q4 A4 Q5 A5 Will any stored dragon boats, containers and or other stuff between columns 15 to 19 be moved? No. However, if the Contractor wishes to safely move and store these items this will be allowed. The Contractor will be required to notify affected parties if/when they are moving or storing items. Will temporary access be given on the west side, from column # 15 to Pier # 1 for a crane and or man lift if required? see attached pictures. And if so do you know of any loading restrictions where there are manhole covers shown in the picture? Access along the west side of the bridge will be granted on City controlled land. The Contractor will be expected to confirm adequate capacity for the equipment they intend to use.

2 Q6 Back to question # 10 please. Is it possible to verify/confirm that the aggregate is or is not Basalt black rock which can have properties of up to 90 mpa, prior to closing date? A6 Q7 A7 Q8 A8 Q9 A9 Q10 A10 Q11 No, the aggregate type for the existing concrete has not been confirmed. The project documents do not specify the type of Tyfo Anchors to be used at each location (i.e. glass or carbon anchors). Can it be assumed that the anchor type must match the fabric type with which it will be applied? For example, Tyfo Carbon Fiber Anchors must be used with Tyfo SCH-41 fabric and Tyfo Glass Fiber Anchors must be used with Tyfo SEH-51A fabric. Yes the anchor type is to match the fabric type. The project documents do not specify fiber anchor dimensions other than embedment depth and diameter. In order to properly develop the tension in the FRP strips, can it be assumed that the splay width and the splay length of the Fiber anchors must be designed using recommendations set forth in Kim and Smith s publication Pullout Strength Models for FRP Anchors in Un-cracked Concrete utilizing an interface bond strength of no more than 1000psi? The splay width and the splay length of the Fiber anchors must be designed using recommendations set forth in Kim and Smith s publication Pullout Strength Models for FRP Anchors in Un-cracked Concrete utilizing an interface bond strength of no more than 1000psi. We are assisting our contractors in providing a bid for the FRP STRENGTHENING section; strengthening of reinforced concrete girders and cap beams using fibre-reinforced polymer (FRP) materials. I am looking for some clarification on the Tyfo Anchors. Can you please supply load requirements for the Tyfo Anchors shown. Refer to Q8 above. There may be some access issues at PI-N which will need to be address with the marina-will communicating with the marina be done by the C.O.V.? The Contractor will be expected to communicate directly with the Marina, however, the City will help coordinate and provide contacts as necessary. Will the C.O.V. arrange to have boats relocated if necessary? A11 Refer to Refer to Questions and Answers No. 2, Answer 7. Q12 Has there been any site investigation in Zones 1 and 2 which has lead you to state there are only 36 square meters of Overhead Trowel Repairs- over an area greater than 5,000 square meters? Access along could be as much as $15,000 to $35,000 per square meter. A12 A sounding survey has been completed for zone 1. No detailed sounding survey has been completed for zone 2, estimates are based off of previous repair quantities between Piers 4 and Pier 6. Q13 Can you have a bid item for access only for Zones 1 and 2? Page 2

3 This would allow us to recapture the costs of access without the risk of quantities changing. This could be a big savings to the owner. A13 Q14 A14 Q15 A15 Q16 A16 Access costs will be added as separate payment items. Access costs for areas beneath the deck overhangs, sidewalks, and to the piers will be as a separate lump sum item. Additional access between the truss chords will be paid as a unit rate of access provided per sq. meter. If and when you add a bid item for access only could you also provide contract language that will allow recapturing the upfront costs of the access equipment on the first progress draw? See amendment for payment language. Please also identify the sounding/repair area boundary lines at the bottom of the piers? For piers 2 and 3, sounding and repairs will generally be completed from the truss bearing seats and above. For the remaining piers, repairs will be completed where required over the full extent. Is there access to the interior of the braziers at the North and South Abutments? If not, how is the cable to be installed through the braziers? No there is not access to the interior of the brazier towers. Conduit to be installed by fishing through cored holes as shown. Holes can be expanded for temporary access provided they are made good upon completion. Q17 There is an existing foundation where the 1.5m vaults are to be installed at Bent 2. Please provide info on the existing foundation A17 Q18 A18 Q19 A19 Q20 A20 Records for the existing bridge foundations are included in the record drawings that are available from the ITT FTP site. Existing concrete slabs, etc. can be demolished as required and the ground restored to a level or smooth gradient. The final location of the vaults may be field confirmed to the Contract Administrator s satisfaction. At Bent 3,4, 5 and others the diaphragm extends down from deck in-line with conduit run. Are we to core individual holes in concrete for hanger conduits? Core individual holes for the conduits. Field locate holes to avoid coring through primary reinforcing. At Pier 1 existing slope will need to be built up significantly in order to install 1.5 vaults as shown Can these vaults be installed away from slope? The final location of the vaults can be field adjusted to suit ground conditions subject to approval of the Contract Administrator, and achieving placement with an allowable number of conduit bends. At Pier 4 the existing slope will need to be built up significantly in order to install PMT and service kiosk vaults as shown Is there an alternate location for this equipment?
