Purchasing Manager: RMM Goddard Road Taylor, MI The City of Taylor Central Purchasing Division is requesting a quick quote on behalf of the City of Taylor Community Development Department as specified below. Quote are Due February 10, 3:00 PM. Please to rmiller@ci.taylor.mi.us Project Location: 5987 Glenis, 5855 Syracuse and Weddel Project Description: Scope of Work. The City of Taylor is soliciting bids for CDBG Residential Sewer Lead and Drainage System. This is a Federally Funded construction project and is subject to compliance with all applicable Federal Labor Standards, but is exempt from Davis Bacon Act. A performance bond in the amount of 100% of the bid amount shall be required upon execution of the contract and prior to beginning work. Please Jeff Baum or Cristia Earp for homeowner contact information. jbaum@ci.taylor.mi.us or cearp@ci.taylor.mi.us 5987 Glenis Case # Replace the existing 4 inch clay pipe sewer lead with new 6 inch diameter SDR 23.5PVC pipe. Pipe lengths are to be secured using manufacture s recommended means and methods to obtain a water tight connection. An appropriate Fernco fitting is to be used at the foundation wall connection, allowing for the existing clay pipe to connect to the new plastic pipe. Install as needed a saddle or strap connection to the main sanitary sewer line. (use old tap and place a reducer section from the new to the old.) A 6 inch clean-out is to be installed in the yard, 5 feet from the slab foundation wall. The clean-out shall be vertical and the cap flush with the finished grade. The new 6 inch plastic pipe shall be bedded with 6 inches of pea stone below the pipe and 12 inches above the pipe. The minimum slope on the new plastic pipe must be 1%. Once the pipe is bedded, the excavated material may be placed back in the trench and compacted to prevent settlement. Construction: Expose the main sewer line and the sewer lead connection at the foundation wall. Confirm sufficient fall from the house to the main sewer line to allow for the minimum 1% slope. Once adequate fall is confirmed, commence from the house connection towards the main sewer line. Place the cleanout pipe 5 feet from the house and continue to the main sewer line. Once pipe is bedded completely, the clean-out installed and the connections to the existing house pipe and the main line sanitary sewer, the trench can be backfilled. Backfill shall be made in 2 foot lifts and compacted before the next 2 foot lift is placed in the trench.

2 The final surface shall be 4 inches of approved top soil and seed mix, once the seed is sown, it shall be mulched with straw. Required Inspections: open trench with the pipe bedded to the flow line; connections at house, cleanout and main line; and, final grade. Contractor to provide a 1 year warranty in case of settlement Quote to include all necessary Materials, Insurance, Labor, Taxes, Permits & Dump Fees 5855 Syracuse Case # Basement drainage system. Installation perimeter drainage with Sump Pump. Saw cut for a sump pump and the perimeter of the basement slab floor. Installation of a temporary sump pump in sump pit while work is being performed. Install perimeter footing drains covered in filter fabric and connect to new sump pit to meet City of Taylor code. Backfill perimeter drain trench with pea stone and pour concrete to match existing floor finish. Remove and dispose all trench spoils and concrete. Quote to include all necessary Materials, Insurance, Labor, Taxes, Permits & Dump Fees Weddel Case # Remove and replace approximately 25 linear feet of galvanized sewer lead with pvc to match the existing lead size within the existing crawlspace.
