PRODUCT QUALITY Rondo s steel products have a zinc coating of Z275 (275 grams of zinc per m 2 ) which ensures that the steel has an optimum zinc coating that will continue to sacrifice itself in order to protect the base metal, and therefore be more corrosive resistant. 5 SYSTEM SOLUTIONS SYSTEM SOLUTIONS Rondo has a system to solve even the most complex technical requirements. Rondo Steel Stud and Track is designed to not only be stronger, but safer, reducing handling errors on site. Unlike other profiles in the market, Rondo Steel Stud and Track have a hemmed return lip to increase rigidity, preventing unwanted rotation as well as eliminating sharp edges. The vertical rib in the stud face allows the wall linings to be placed centrally, ensuring easier and faster fixing, while the deeper knurling provides better screw location and retention. Rondo studs also lock perfectly into each other, creating the best boxed stud profile in the market. The Rondo MAXIframe External Wall Framing System offers a more efficient, versatile and cost effective design option than traditional external wall framing construction methods. Rondo supplied the MAXIframe System to the Sunshine Coast Hospital Project where it was determined that the initial design using standard 150mm back to back stud configuration located at 300mm centres was not going to be an economical solution or able to meet the window design requirements. Rondo was brought in to offer an alternative solution and they produced a special 150mm MAXIjamb Stud in 1.2BMT, G500 material which could achieve wall heights of 4.1m and meet wind load requirements. It could also be spaced at 675mm centres to suit the window modules. The Rondo DUPLEX Stud is a Jamb Stud that has been designed in response to the industry need for speeding up construction time and reducing labour costs. Single DUPLEX Studs can be used to frame door and glazing openings, where traditionally two regular steel studs have often been boxed together. Furthermore, architects, engineers and construction teams can capitalise on the strength offered by the DUPLEX Stud System, installing higher walls before noggings are required. Where standard Stud and Track Walls that are lined both sides require noggings past 4.4 metres, wall systems utilising DUPLEX Stud, can be constructed up to 6 metres before noggings are necessary. Fewer products to install means reduced costs onsite, reduced material usage and faster installation times. We are also able to provide seismic designs for walls and ceilings, which can be tailored to suit each project s seismic requirements. Rondo developed market-leading seismic designs through the use of Australian and New Zealand Standards, research into the latest seismic advances, and an all-inclusive testing program which included full scale testing in New Zealand on a shake table, with the help of seismic engineers. Rondo has provided seismic designs to major projects across Australia including Adelaide Medical Nursing School, New Royal Adelaide Hospital, SAHMRI, QEII New Children s Hospital in Perth, and Gosford Hospital in NSW. Rondo also offers a selection of Acoustic Mounts that complement the Rondo range of wall and ceiling systems and have been tested to comply with the Australian National Construction Code (NCC). Rondo is able to supply full test data for analysis by acoustic engineers and architects, for the tests which Rondo has commissioned. 5

This free in-house design service can be utilised for all projects where our products are specified. Our team of Professional Engineers are experienced in cold formed steel design and this offer extends to all our systems and products for any application. Rondo designs to the current Australian Standards, including all loading codes (AS1100 series), design codes (AS/NZS4600) and more recently SA TS 101 for post-installed concrete fasteners. We are also constantly up-to-date with Australian Standards and regularly update technical resources in line with changes. As a company, we also have regular interactions with fastener suppliers to ensure our designs are current and up to date. Design capacities for Rondo standard details are always confirmed with anchor suppliers, before detailing and documenting is complete. Rondo also sits on a number of committees including the BD35 Standards Committee for the revision of AS/NZS2785 Suspended Ceiling code, the AWCI Executive Committee, which represents the Wall and Ceiling Industry within Australia and New Zealand and the AWCI Technical Committee, which provides support to the Wall and Ceiling Industry within Australia and New Zealand for all technical matters relating to the industry. 6

FIONA STANLEY HOSPITAL, WESTERN AUSTRALIA Produced large quantities of special length products in advance and stored them at the local Rondo warehouse to enable quick supply and installation. DARLING HARBOUR LIVE, NSW Ceiling heights in the exhibition halls were up to 20 metres high requiring complex design solutions and our innovative MAXIframe system. PACIFIC FAIR, GOLD COAST Rondo provided numerous designs for various curved ceiling and wall features and external wall & ceilings systems. CHAU CHUK UTS UNIVERSITY, SYDNEY Provided technical designs for varying wall heights, external wall framing, and requirements for fire, acoustic and pressure ratings. BENDIGO HOSPITAL, VIC Intricate external façade with various window sizing required unique designs from Rondo s Engineers. SUNSHINE COAST UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL Rondo Engineers needed to provide designs that met acoustic and pressurised wall framing, as well as load bearing stud ceilings, which resulted in Rondo producing a nonstandard 130mm Steel Stud. CROWN TOWERS, PERTH Special length 150mm MAXIjamb Studs were created to accommodate the feature linings and achieve the remarkable nine metre high walls. UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL, GOLD COAST Heavily involved in the designs for partition details to accommodate all loadings from grab rails, shelf loads, isolation rooms and lead lined walls. 7
