2 Product Detais Introduction Kingspan Kootherm K20 Concrete Sandwich Board is a premium performance insuation product, used for concrete insuated sandwich wa systems. Figure 1 The Facings Kingspan Kootherm K20 Concrete Sandwich Board has a gass tissue based facing, adhesivey bonded to the insuation core during manufacture. The Core The core of Kingspan Kootherm K20 Concrete Sandwich Board is a premium performance rigid thermoset fiber-free phenoic insuant manufactured with a bowing agent that has zero Ozone Depetion Potentia (ODP) and ow Goba Warming Potentia (GWP). Requirements), ISO 14001: 2004 (Environmenta Management Systems. Requirements), OHSAS 18001:2007 (Occupationa Heath & Safety Management Systems. Requirements), and CCRR Durabiity If correcty instaed, Kingspan Kootherm K20 Concrete Sandwich Board can have an indefinite ife. Its durabiity depends on the supporting structure and the conditions of its use. Resistance to Sovents, Fungi & Pests The insuation core is resistant to short term contact with petroeum and with most diute acids, akais and minera ois. However, it is recommended that any spis be ceaned off fuy before the boards are instaed. Ensure that safe methods of ceaning are used, as recommended by the suppiers of the spit iquid. The insuation core is not resistant to some sovent based adhesive systems, particuary those containing methy ethy ketone. Adhesives containing such sovents shoud not be used in association with this product. Damaged boards or boards that have been in contact with harsh sovents or acids shoud not be used. The insuation core and facings used in the manufacture of Kingspan Kootherm K20 Concrete Sandwich Board resist attack by mod and microbia growth, and do not provide any food vaue to pests. 3 Fire Performance The rigid thermoset insuation core of Kingspan Kootherm K20 Concrete Sandwich Board, when subjected to the ASTM E 84/UL 723 (Standard Test Method for Surface Burning Characteristics of Buiding Materias) fire test specified in the tabe beow, has achieved the resut shown. Therma Resistance The R vaues detaied beow are quoted in accordance with ASTM C518 (Standard Test Method for Steady State Therma Transmission Properties by Means of the Heat Fow Meter Apparatus). Therma resistance (R vaue) varies with thickness and is cacuated by dividing the thickness of the board. Insuant Thickness Therma Resistance (in) (mm) (R-vaue) * Kingspan Insuation s maximum avaiabe thickness is subject to ateration without notice. At the time of pubication, this specific insuation thickness must be buit up from two thinner ayers, but this may have changed by the time that the information in this iterature is reied upon. Where mutipe ayers of insuation of different thicknesses are used, the thickest ayer shoud be instaed as the outermost ayer in the construction. 3

The product sha be manufactured: with a bowing agent that has zero Ozone Depetion Potentia (ODP) and ow Goba Warming Potentia (GWP); under a management system certified to ISO 9001: 2008, ISO 14001: 2004, BS / I.S. OHSAS 18001: 2007 and ISO 50001; by Kingspan Insuation Limited; and instaed in accordance with the instructions issued by them. 4

5 Sitework Genera Cutting Cutting shoud be carried out either by using a fine toothed saw, or by scoring with a sharp knife, snapping the board over a straight edge and then cutting the facing on the other side. Ensure accurate trimming to achieve cose butting joints and continuity of insuation. Daiy Working Practice At the competion of each day s work, or whenever work is interrupted for extended periods of time, board edges and joints shoud be protected from incement weather. Packaging and Storage The poyethyene packaging of Kingspan Insuation products, which is recycabe, shoud not be considered adequate for outdoor protection. Ideay, boards shoud be stored inside a buiding. If, however, outside storage cannot be avoided, then the boards shoud be stacked cear of the ground and covered with an opaque poyethyene sheet or weatherproof tarp. Boards that have been aowed to get wet shoud not be used. Heath and Safety Kingspan Insuation products are chemicay inert and safe to use.
