5 CORROSION PROTECTION

E-coat offers a superior corrosion and chemical resistance when compared to conventional priming and painting methods. We chose to E-Coat our frame rails and liners because of its proven corrosion protection, its durability and versatility. Jim Johnson President Pierce Manufacturing The electrocoating (E-Coat) immersion process provides coverage of complex parts and a uniform thickness without runs or drips. E-Coat delivers a superior corrosion and chemical resistance, while maintaining a high-quality, resilient surface for paint of any color or finish. Operating out of one of the most expansive facilities in the nation, Oshkosh Corrosion Protection services feature E-Coat capabilities that other companies cannot match. Our 150,000 square foot facility is home to one of the country s largest Programmable Hoist Systems (PHS), as well as a state-of-the-art indexing system, which allows processing of parts of virtually all shapes and sizes. In addition to our capable systems, Oshkosh Corrosion Protection leverages expertise from Oshkosh s proven experience serving the Department of Defense. Our economic and efficient corrosion protection provides a durable resistance from the most severe conditions. Durable, consistent protection. High-performing cathodic epoxy coatings are paired with zinc-phosphate pre-treatment Final coatings provide superior salt spray, humidity and cyclic corrosion resistance PHS tank sizes: 36 feet long, 8 feet deep and 3.5 feet wide; maximum weight capacity of 5,000 pounds Immersion process offers uniform coverage and thickness of complex parts Accredited laboratory for performance testing and certification of the overall coating process 6

With the Oshkosh name, you know you are getting the highest quality products and service throughout the entire process. Our Operations department is constantly focused on continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiencies on the FMTV manufacturing process. The end result has been truck and trailer components sent through E-Coat tanks and top coat booths on the same line under the same roof. This reduces lead times, product handling, and costs. Patrick Doyle FMTV Program Director Oshkosh Defense Oshkosh Top Coat utilizes rigorously trained technicians and stateof-the-art equipment to deliver an advanced, high-quality service. Isolated booths are strictly regulated so our top coats maintain a consistent application of color and thickness on parts of all shapes and sizes. Oshkosh prides itself on utilizing state-of-the-art coating technologies, offering the highest quality and cost-efficient application for a variety of products, including armor, steel, aluminum, iron alloys and galvanized materials. Our top coat booths also work in conjunction with the corrosion protection facility to reduce lead times and product handling. State-of-the-art coating system. Top coat paints are monitored and adjusted based on temperature and humidity to deliver a stable coating to the product Coating technology offers a consistent application of color and thickness on parts of all shapes and sizes and a variety of products and substrates 8

9 WELDING AND FABRICATION

The skilled team of certified welders at Oshkosh Finishing Services is one of several factors which provides assurance that the Oshkosh S-Series Front Discharge Mixer is the best built, highest quality unit available to our customers. When it comes to building a heavy duty piece of equipment with the most demanding operating conditions in mind, Oshkosh Corporation sets the standard. Gloria Georger Vice President of Operations Oshkosh Corporation, Commercial Segment Our engineers understand that demanding conditions require specialized and proprietary components. Oshkosh Welding and Fabrication utilizes precision laser cutting and high definition plasma cutting, as well as a complete shop for punching, forming and bending to produce the components that withstand the most challenging operating environments. With an experienced team of certified welders and high-tech welding robotics, our process provides superior service that surpasses industry standards. Oshkosh Welding and Fabrication uses the Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW) process with the capabilities to weld a variety of products including armor, steel, aluminum and galvanized materials. Our internal fixture design and build capability enables the welding and fabrication service team to work with components from a diverse range of shapes, sizes and properties. These capabilities promote efficiency and innovation, and exemplify our proven history of deliveries on or ahead of schedule. Innovative, cutting-edge technology. Advanced laser cutters and high definition plasma cutters provide superior control and precise contour for specialized parts Heavy-duty forming press, as well as specialized tube bending and punching machines allow the fabricating of a wide assortment of materials Flexible modular tooling reduces the overall production lead time and improves change over between components Robotic welding allows for pin-point accuracy and efficient production 10
