REQUEST: August 10, I have received a detailed RFI from one of our bidding mechanical firms, of which has offered and analyzed some of the potential installation challenges, in respect to the revised tub enclosures. The recently received Addendum # 007/March 30/2015 is the source of the RFI and also some valued ways to install the rough plumbing. RESPONSE: AD #16.00: August 17, 2015 AD #16.01 Please find enclosed updated unit layouts A2.26 and A2.27. Where each bathroom is adjacent to a party wall a 3 1/2" furring has been shown to accommodate the plumbing without affecting the party wall. The en suite bathrooms in unit types C & D have been rotated so that the plumbing wall is away from the party wall. END Page 2 of 2

3 REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI# 008) Project Information: Project No.: 1266 Construction Manager: Performance Construction Ltd. Project Name: CHLTF Site # East Kent Street, Vancouver Subcontractor Information: Date: Augst 10, 2015 Requested by: George Hart(Performance) for Mechanical Sub-Contractor/Tender. Drawing No.: Specification Ref.: Architectural Specifications-Plumbing/Tub Surround Division Attention: Laurie Mackintosh, Dane Jansen, Richard Stout -DYS Architecture Please provide the following clarification: Sub-contractor requests for clarification: 1) One of our sub-contractor has requested a clarification on the full style tub surrounds. DYS Addendum # 007/Dated: March 30/2015. His questions are as follows: Hello George RFI ADDENDUM NO. 7 Site 6 FURTHER CLARIFICATION OR MODIFICATION REQUIRED addendum No. 7 requires that factory made one piece tub shower units with grab bars are to be provided. The subject units weigh 258 lbs. The mechanical drawings commonly show the tub drain and tub shower diverter installed on the party walls back to back with other bathtubs and shower diverters in the adjacent suites. On site 6 there are two such arrangements located within a few feet of each other on certain party walls which raise structural integrity and fire rating concerns. In that vein, the construction assembly note 1. on Architectural drawing sheet A 6.16 says: 1. "At fire separations or where ratings are required, run type X GWB behind bathtubs showers cabinets " Given the requirement to maintain fire ratings, and with a view to maintain acceptable sound transmission levels how are the tubs to be installed without completely dismantling and rebuilding of each bathroom framework at the point in time when the tub/shower units are installed? 2. How is the structural integrity of the demising walls between suites to be maintained? 3. Further, how is future access to the tub/ shower valve and/or the waste and overflow to be achieved in the event of a valve failure or overflow problem in any of the 12 affected bathrooms located on one typical wall affecting 6 suites? 4. In short, what is the sequence of operations, and how can we improve the situation? To resolve the diverter access issue we suggest that the tub/shower units be reversed so that the diverters and waste and overflows are located on partition walls within each of the 6 suites. To resolve possible structural, fire rating, and sound transmission problems (in part) we suggest Page 1 of 2 relocating soil stacks to the same partition walls which will contain the relocated tub/shower diverters, as shown in the attached sketch. With respect, we have come to the view that locating plumbing fixtures on party walls in a multi-

4 REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI# 008) residential building is not a good practice and is a paradigm which should be avoided if possible. Not only does it not reduce our costs, it increases the labor and materials cost of other trades and results in a product which over the building life could be better. I will send you a sketch with our ideas in the AM Regards #### If you could clarify asap, Thanks Response Provided: Page 2 of 2
