7 URBAN PAVER RANGE hotblast finish The rich and varying colours displayed by minerals contained within the sedimentary rock that constitutes the sandstone have been subtly highlighted by sawing and shot blasting the top surface of the paver. The textured surface of each paver offers its own unique colour variance and provides a paver that is equally at home inside or out. The textured surface also provides an anti skid characteristic for use around pools and commercial applications. When used internally, the use of a suitable sealer will further enhance the vibrant natural colours. 9 VINTAGE WALLING RANGE Timeless appearance This genuine sandstone walling has been three dimensionally dressed to size and then put through our special vintage process to give it a time worn appearance. Vintage tone walling combines well with the rest of the vintage stone range and is also compatible with our other sandstone products. Cambridge Oxford Cromwell Advice on building walls is given on page 10 and we recommend that all 3 sizes are used if the effect of a traditional wall is desired. Wenderholm Horsham izes available: 325 x x x 100 Calibrated/honed Thickness: 50mm WALL BUILDING GUIDE General information 9 GENERAL NOTE ON BUILDING A WALL The level of knowledge and skill required to build a wall is clearly greater than that for laying paving. It is therefore strongly recommended that professional advice is sought if you are in any doubt on the key points outlined below. This is particularly important when building over 1.5 metres high, for complex structures or those subject to additional stress - e.g retaining walls. In any event, it is essential that the wall is fully planned ahead of any work commencing. For TrueTONE walling products use normal bricklaying techniques, including where necessary, the provision of damp proof courses, both 150mm above ground level and immediately under the copings. A FIRM FOUNDATION I EENTIAL Virtually all walls need a firm foundation and the only real exception is very low edging walls. For free standing walls - e.g a boundary wall - a concrete foundation is required and the width of this should be three times the overall thickness of the wall. The depth of the foundation should be at least 100mm with the base of this 300mm below ground level (therefore the first course/s of bricks/blocks will start below ground level). For walls 1 meter high, total foundation depth should be approximately one third of the wall s height above the ground. HEIGHT AND LENGTH ingle skin walls of 100mm thickness should not exceed 1 metre in height and need 215mm square piers at 2 metre intervals. ingle skin construction is not suitable for exposed locations subject to severe winds. Walls of 215mm thickness must have the two skins tied together by cross bonding the blocks, or by using stainless steel wall ties. Walls over 1 metre high should have support pillars at least every 3 metres. All walls need provision for expansion and contraction, typically every 6 metres.

10 PAVER INTALLATION GUIDE General information OUTDOOR All TrueTONE paving should be laid on a full bed of wet mortar, as this will help ensure even weathering of the surface. To help the stone bond to the mortar, we recommend coating the underside of the pavers with neat wet cement that has the consistency of melted butter. Also add a PVA bonding agent to this cement. Ensure pavers are laid with a 5-10mm joint between. DO NOT BUTT HARD TOGETHER! POINTING/GROUTING For fast and easy results use TrueTONE Easy Grout as per label instructions. EALING/COATING (RECOMMENDED) For a natural look, use TrueTONE ealer as per label instructions or purchase your TrueTONE pre-sealed. DRIVEWAY Paving is only suitable for car driveways when the base is specifically designed for this application. Base design is dependant on underlying geological conditions. INDOOR When laying TrueTONE tiles indoors, be sure to follow the Truetone installation specification. When using several packs, product from all the packs should be blended throughout the project to produce an acceptable overall natural appearance. WEATHERING It should be appreciated that with all products, weathering and site conditions can cause shade variation to appear across the surface of individual paver units. This does not in any way affect the performance of the paver and such variation will diminish over a period of time as the paver matures. Both natural and reconstituted stone products are affected by the action of sunlight and rainfall over time. Natural stone may show brown colouration as its iron content oxidises. TERM AND CONDITION In the unfortunate but unlikely event of products reaching you in less than satisfactory condition, please notify the retailer immediately.
