DIAPHRAGM CAPABILITIES AND PURLIN STABILITY ARE MINIMAL AS PROVIDED BY THE SPANISH TILE SYSTEM. THEREORE, OTHER BRACING MAY BE REQUIRED TO CONORM TO A.I.S.C. SPECIICATIONS. DO NOT APPLY ON OPEN RAMING AT VALLEYS OR ROO PENETRATIONS WITH OUT REERRING TO DETAILS ON PAGES ST-72 AND ST OOT TRAIC ON THE PANELS MUST BE KEPT TO A MINIMUM. ARCHITECTURAL PANELS ARE DESIGNED OR AESTHETICS AND CAN BE EASILY DAMAGED OR DEORMED IS EXTREME CARE IS NOT USED. ASCIA/RAKE INSPECTION: 1. STRIKE A LINE THE ULL LENGTH O THE ASCIA OR RAKE. LASHING INSTALLATION: 1. REMOVE STRIPPABLE PLASTIC ILM ROM ALL LASHINGS PRIOR TO INSTALLATION. 2. ALWAYS STAGGER JOINTS WHEN ONE LASHING IS INSTALLED OVER OTHER LASHINGS. 3. INSTALL ALL LASHINGS AS PER TYPICAL DETAILS. 4. ALL LASHINGS ARE TO BE DESIGNED AND INSTALLED TO NOT TRAP WATER. O. P. Q. R. S. PANELS: WILL PROVIDE SQUARE END CUTS ONLY ON ALL DEEP VEE PANELS. COMPUTATION O ALL QUANTITIES AND DIMENSIONS ARE THE RESPONSIBILITY O THE PURCHASER. PANEL INSTALLATION: 1. REMOVE STRIPPABLE PLASTIC ILM ROM EACH DEEP VEE PANEL PRIOR TO INSTALLATION. 2. DETERMINE CENTER LINE O ROO AREA AND START PANEL INSTALLATION AT THE CENTER O THE ROO, WORKING TOWARD THE GABLE ENDS. MAKE SURE PANELS ARE PERPENDICULAR TO THE EAVE. AT VALLEY AREAS, MAKE SURE PANELS ARE INSTALLED SO THAT WATER HAS REE LOW AND IS NOT OBSTRUCTED BY PANEL RIBS. 3. COPPER-COTE, ZINC-COTE, PREWEATHERED GALVALUME AND CHAMPAGNE PANEL INSTALLATION: NOTE THE SERIES O ARROWS PAINTED ON THE UNDER SIDE O THE PANEL. ALL PANELS MUST BE INSTALLED IN A CONSISTENT MANNER, MEANING THAT THE ARROWS ON EVERY PANEL ARE ALL POINTING IN THE SAME DIRECTION. I A PANEL IS REVERSED (ARROWS POINTING OPPOSITE O THOSE ON OTHER PANELS) IT WILL APPEAR, ROM A DISTANCE, A DIERENT SHADE TO THE GRANULAR EECT O THE PIGMENT IN THE INISH. METALLIC INISHED ARE MATCH-LOT INISHED. DO NOT MIX LOTS. SPANISH TILES: ARE ACTORY ABRICATED 17" LONG AND 8" WIDE INTERLOCKING BARREL TILES. SPANISH TILE INSTALLATION: 1. REMOVE STRIPPABLE PLASTIC ILM ROM EACH TILE PRIOR TO INSTALLATION. 2. IN MOST CASES, TILES MAY BE INSTALLED ATER ALL PANELS ARE INSTALLED. 3. WHEN THE PANELS ARE INSTALLED OVER OPEN RAMING AND OR STEEP ROO SLOPES, IT IS RECOMMENDED THAT THE TILES BE INSTALLED AT THE SAME TIME AS THE PANELS. 4. EACH TILE INTERLOCKS WITH THE TILE BELOW IT AS YOU WORK UP THE ROO. THE TILE LAPS AT INTERLOCK IS ADJUSTABLE ROM A MINIMUM O 1" TO A MAXIMUM O 4". ALL TILE LAPS MUST BE THE SAME THOUGHT O THE INSTALLATION OR AN AESTHETICALLY PLEASING INSTALLATION. ASTENERS: INSTALL ASTENERS AS PER TYPICAL DETAILS. USE A 3 1/2" LONG GALVANIZED RING SHANK NAIL OR INSTALLATION O DEEP VEE PANEL OVER WOOD SHEATHING AND USE # X 3" SMS OR INSTALLATION O DEEP VEE PANEL TO METAL. INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS STI-3

6 OPTIONAL ATTACHMENT O DEEP VEE PANEL. USE A HEX HEAD ASTENER WITH A METAL BACKED NEOPRENE WASHER, SHEET METAL OR WOOD SCREW (1) EACH SIDE O PANEL RIB THROUGH PANEL PAN. ASTENERS TO BE SIZED TO MEET LOAD REQUIREMENTS. INTERLOCKING SPANISH TILES SHALL BE ATTACHED TO THE TOP O THE RIB ON THE DEEP VEE PANEL WITH # 8 TEK SCREWS. WHEN SURE ALL ASTENERS ARE DRIVEN STRAIGHT AND SET LAT. DO NOT OVERDRIVE ASTENERS, AS THIS WILL CAUSE THE DEEP VEE PANEL, SPANISH TILE AND/OR LASHINGS TO BUCKLE OR BECOME RECESSED BELOW THE ELEVATION O THE SUBSTRATE. (NOTE: I LOCAL CODES OR OTHER REGULATIONS DICTATE SPECIIC WIND UPLIT REQUIREMENTS, CONSULT THE ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT, AS IT MAY BE NECESSARY TO USE A DIERENT ASTENER OR ASTENER SPACING). Remember to remove strippable plastic film from Deep Vee panel and prior to installation. Tile installed properly will fit tight on to lower tiles, do not trim off edges of tile flange.
